(Inspired by GalactiCon) This little game... ...has helped make the world just a little brighter. ...has helped us all rekindle our love for the legends of wrestling! ...has hopefully NOT ended any marriages. ...has helped each of us express our inner wrestling nerd, sometimes for decades! ...has more than likely been a constant in many of our lives, and probably helped many of us through some tough times. ...has survived 6 presidencies, and will most likely survive 6 more...at least! ...has brought a lot of people together, from a variety of backgrounds, all unified over their love of wrestling. ...has created a new language, one in which dazed-1, hurt-2, down-3, and rolling a 6 are critically important! ...has been passed down now to new generations, ensuring the fandom will only grow. ...has brought a lot of smiles to faces during a global pandemic, and a fair amount of laughs as well. The show must indeed go on! ...has most importantly, inspired friendships that have lasted 20 (heck 30!) years! Friendships that started over the love of wrestling, and maintained the test of time. I know for me, that matters the most. All of this, from this little game. I think the world would be a lot better off if we had more little games....and little communities that loved these games...in it. Thanks to you all for a great GalactiCon. Glad to see everybody after so many years.

This has been my first Galacticon and, in all honesty, I hope it is the first of many to come.
I know this may seem funny to some of you who have known each other for years (and years!) but for all of my time on these boards and with this community I have often found myself maybe disagreeing with some of you from time to time but still thinking to myself "we are all, at the end of the day, still a fairly closely-knit community" and I truly believe that.
But getting to put faces to names, and hear voices has had an amazing effect... for me, at least... of humanizing many of you whom I had I only known as a handle of these boards and to possibly help to mitigate any angry thoughts when I do, eventually, disagree with you on whatever topic.
We're all wrestling fans. We're all Champions fans, Legends fans, Indies fans, and Filsinger Games fans. We really are a community and maybe now I can go from calling some of you "this person I know from the FG boards" to "friends".
Looking forward to talking to everybody again soon!
Thanks to all who make this whole thing possible!

Though I've been regularly playing since I got my first job, I would always remember how bad I'd want to get back into the game and since I refused to not have everything, I had to save up so much money to replace the sets I had lost. Still going strong all this time later. Some of us have been playing this game more than half our lives.

Started in 1987. Several breaks in between, some of even a few years, but still here in 2020. #COTGSTRONG

You sure sound like one. Nice to meet ya.

Great post, my friend! I thought this was a great weekend, because for the first time in 4 months, I actually had something to do on the weekend. The outside world turbulence was easy to ignore for 48 hours.

Great post, my friend! I thought this was a great weekend, because for the first time in 4 months, I actually had something to do on the weekend. The outside world turbulence was easy to ignore for 48 hours. I so agree. No concerts, no movies, no vacation, no Waterloo Hall of Fame event, no.. life. This and the card releases have been something to look forward too. It was fun and brought a weekend of enjoyment.

I didn't start playing until about 2002, but this game had a really special place in my life for a few years. I was in my early 20's and going through some tough growing pains in my personal life. It's one of those things where you don't even realize it until you're beyond it, but I recognize now that COTG was a bright spot in a couple of years that otherwise I'm not terribly nostalgic about. I sold my cards and quit playing a long time ago due to stupid reasons, but I've been working up to jumping back in for a while and I'm remembering why this game is such a great pastime.
