I thought about what I wanted to say, but I couldn't say it any better than Swarm already has. I can’t believe I’m saying this but that Con was perfect. I’ve been to 95% of the Galacticons and if the goal was to simulate a live GCON, Sam Fain, Mike M and Tournament Master nailed it. There was literally nothing we couldn’t do we normally do at a live Con. Sure, getting together in person for drinks is fun but if that’s all we missed out on I’d say it was a huge success. I got to take breaks in my own kitchen, slept in my own bed, and didn’t have to drive 18 hours round trip. Win/win/win. We got to see a ton of people who may not have otherwise been able to attend. I thought we did a lot more things too. Time wasn’t bearing down on us to finish anything. It was awesome. I would do that again in a heart beat and hope we do! Pay per views, new releases, I’m in. 5 star weekend great seeing old friends and meeting new ones!!

You all did an outstanding job. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I agree January is better for the Virtual GCon. Adding separate rooms would be good, but I was honestly very impressed w everything.

So let us know your thoughts on GalactiCon.
What did you like? All of it...love hanging out meeting new folks and connecting with guys I have know for a while (that's the best part of GalactiCon!) Also, I had never played on a game table online with others and really liked doing so.
What could we improve on? In the first tournament (the 2136) the gametable I was, we summoned and rolled dice on our own. I liked doing that, but I understood the need to move to call the options to stay on time...BUT I would really like to have a tournament with enough time to let the participants rollout the matches. Maybe something to shoot for on a PPV weekend or something.
What virtual things would you like to see at future GalactiCons? An auction of some type that goes the entire period - it would be cool something or somethings on auction over the whole weekend. As was also mentioned, break out rooms with various topics.
Would you be interested in a virtual winter event? YES!
What new things could we incorporate or what guests would you like to see? Need to have Werner on for a Q&A to talk about how he does what he does.
What else would you like to see? THIS: regular online tournaments throughout the year on COTGonline and Zoom.

Yes. This was the one thing I would change from the weekend (besides someone buying Tom an ethernet cable). I loved rolling out the matches myself in the first tournament but then it became just sitting around watching instead of participating. Yes, some of the hosts asks if I wanted to roll things out but I just had them do it in essence of time. But, as Pete said, it would be cool to allot enough time where people could roll out their own matches.

Would be great for people to be able to do that (trust me, it wears you out rolling all those matches and having to holler at people to get them to make choices) but timewise, it at least doubles it if not more and that's if people are paying attention. Either we'll have to shrink the tournaments or run fewer of them (at one point we planned on only doing four) to make it work.

Completely agree on rolling out your own matches. I think given the time constraints and the unfamiliarity of many people with the system (along with the fact that the game tables kept showing as Full when they weren't), we went to this system. I think doing more tournaments throughout the year where people roll out the matches themselves would help execute this better in the future. I can't commit to a cadence just yet, but I think we could have a few tournaments this year leading up to a bigger virtual con in January.

Agree so much with the idea of single day 'megashows' of sorts that could be possibly built around some major quarterly releases. Or to focus the # of tournaments around specific brands, such as this is an Indies MegaCon or a Prime MegaCon so fans of the specific themes are there to discuss what they are most interested about.
Also it was great to have the breakout rooms for tournaments or topic specific discussions, but then leaving the main room open as a 'casual' lounging area.
Presentation Suggestion: Not sure if people were experimenting with their display presentations in Zoom as i found grid display a lot to take in and transitioned to speaker presentation. What works for me may not be ideal for others, but a focus on the speaker along with group mute may help alleviate the talk over each issues or a press to speak option that moderators could open specific mics for questions in the main room may be ideal in ironing out some kinks when you have 40+ in the same space.

For those interested, some of us are meeting up on Monday nights on CotgOnline to roll some matches and chat on Discord. We'd welcome some new faces. Also it would allow some practice for tournaments.

Also it would allow some practice for tournaments. That is great. I am tossing around the idea of a monthly zoom tournament and virtual get together. Not sure the best day of week or time to do that though. Have each month center on a different topic.

Great suggestions! Was awesome to have you join us from Denmark. Hoping to get more folks from Europe join us next time.
