Instead of ranking for each year (which could be laborious IMO)...set the rankings for eras e.g. 2086-2093, 2093-2100, etc.
The rosters are almost identical in these eras with little twists...plus it will be fun for the person doing it rather than a hair-pulling chore.
Or simply make it a Kronos rankings system...

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Any particular ideas besides promoter rankings? I was thinking maybe a few discussion questions aimed at promoters each issue.
Obviously drawings, artwork, maybe deeper speculation and investigation into the different parts of GWF lore that aren't as well known?
I don't know if it'd be possible but maybe some comments or questions answered from some people involved behind the scenes.

An e-newsletter would be a very nice treat to get in the mail box.
I just found some old ones in a box from 1990(-ish) that I will scan and put a link up (eventually.)

Quarterly issues w a subscription cost that is used to buy art from Werner? A poll to decide what character is made. Each issue could ship w a color bootleg. It would take 20 people to cover the cost (of 4 pieces) at a $10 subscuption price. Not sure how much the printing & shipping would cost tho. So we would either need more than 20 people or more than $10 each. Just an idea. I thought the old ones had cards but I wasn’t around then so I’m not sure.

What about distributing a PDF card if the newsletter is digital? Small sacrifice?

Did anything else come of this initial discussion? I would like to contribute/assist if possible. I was looking through my old Promoter issues (the real old ones I have tucked away are from 96-97) and definitely miss the old fashion newsletters. Its great to have everything posted and listed here but there is something neat about having that collaborative item to read as well with tidbits from a variety of promoters.
What items would be best to include or areas that folks would enjoy reading? As others have noted, I liked the promoter rankings so that would be a key part. Could have them clumped by eras if that makes it more accessible (and not strictly the 'current' year). Retrospective reviews might be neat since a player like myself who is dipping into and out of different eras finds looking at sets from different perspectives interesting. A featured bootleg section would be neat too. The effort to expand the early era via the online promoters looks like a cool collaborative effort that I missed out on (but am considering buying into at some point).
