Anyone else run into the issue of playing a match for what seems like forever before you roll a finisher or a pin? Or roll a finish multiple times only to have the opponent kick out every time? I have that happen quite frequently, to the point where sometimes I'll just say heck with it and call the match a draw. Especially if it's an opening match.

Draw is one...sometimes I run random interference, especially if I have someone playing an enforcer role where he beats down both wrestlers.

A match with lots of kickouts is dramatic and exciting. I'll let a match like that go to a conclusion every time and I'll be watching breathlessly to see how it turns out.
On the other hand, a match that stalls forever on L1 and L2 is deadly. Usually that's the result of two low card guys squaring off. It's perfectly fine to shut that down when you need to.

I do the above but also I will turn one or two Hurt-2 to a Down-3. I figure in a long match fatigue takes a toll. This helps to roll on Off 3 more often to hopefully get a finish.

Thanks all. I think my problem, which I didnt have when I started to play COTG in the late 80s, is that I'm a little smarter to the business. So when a guy hits his finisher, especially if its later on in the match, that should be it. Lol I need to remember that the way a real match is put together is more often than not not how a LOW match is going to go. I'll keep working out the kinks.

I use the stopwatch on my phone to record the length of matches now. 20 minute limit. For house shows, I got with the standard pin rating and roll 3 times to simulate the count. I still have matches that only go 4-6 minutes using this method. Once the timer his 20, I give one more roll and if it isn't finished, it's a draw.

My only grip about matches too long is if for example I roll level 2 offense, hurt 2 defense like 15 times in a row.

Honestly?
Sometimes if I feel a match has gone on too long I may be tempted to just end it as a time-limit draw.
It doesn't happen very often, but it has happened.
My other options are to sometimes try for a run-in/ interference spot.
Mostly I go for time-limit draws, though.

If I find a match is getting bogged down on L1O or L2O and it's been going on awhile, I'll say that if it doesn't end in 10 moves, it's a draw.
