I have just about every black and white card set put out for Champions of the Galaxy. I still need 2115-2118. Once I get the last remaining sets, I was thinking about taking my favorite cards and making a best of federation. Have any of you ever done this and was it fun? Interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

While none has ever lasted, I did that a few times after color was a thing. It was fun. Now Kronos basically covers that idea for me.

This is how I run both of my CotG feds. There are storylines I liked and have incorporated and others I've not, and ignored. Same has gone for cards.
One fed is more geared towards an older slightly less powered card (I look at this like an AEW or early WCW) and another with a lot more modern cards. (I named it after the wrestling federation in Marvel comics, the UCWF or Unlimited Class Wrestling, and is more.. um, unlimited.)
What really caused this was my love for Spike, Thanos and the original Chuck Carter B&W art from the first two sets AND the Daryl Banks art of recent. Color and B&W mixed, some cards are paper clipped in front of others, dogs and cats, mass hysteria!
I started in 1988 or 89 and college (and lack of money) took the game away from me. About five years ago I came back and wanted new cool color, but also my childhood favorites.

In the past I ran 4 feds with cards from all the sets including color. Also some LOW cards and bootlegs thrown in. Now I keep more current with only a few exceptions. Do what makes you happy. That is the beauty of this game.

About five years ago I came back and wanted new cool color, but also my childhood favorites. Love it Iowa Oaks! I've mixed eras for years. I have one GWF, and its for cards of any era, cause like our friend Mr. Oaks, , I really never want to part with Thantos, Star Warrior, Wolf, Spike, Lord Nexus, and about a zillion other characters of whom I've grown quite fond. So, I would say do what makes you happiest, and mix away to your heart's content. While I have run a bootleg fed for fictional bootleg characters, I've considered just lumping those in with my GWF, to have one fictional wrestling federation (along with my one legends fed, or real wrestler fed). That way, fed wars can ensue a little more easily between the big 2! But, again, to answer the original question of this thread...do it! To whet your appetite, I've had classic feuds between Lord Nexus and Godsend, Pegasus and Perfect Specimen, and even Omega and Godsend. Have fun, that's the name of the game, and I think one of the most fun ways to play COTG is to just lump it all together, and do your own thing.

For right now, I basically run Kronos like early Chikara. No real singles champion, the tag titles are the main focus. It gives me an opportunity to see a lot of guys who didn't have tag runs in said situation. It's fun.
