Not signing everyone is a good thing. I still have cards I own I have not got around to using that I want too. Of course the more cards that I need to play means the longer I have to live to get around to playing them. Hmm

Good luck especially at Shimmer. Well I did sign a woman wrestler to the game today.

I will post more of a recap later (either tonight or tomorrow- I am working online today- currently on break- but I am running on fumes as I only averaged about 4 hours of sleep the last few nights- I need to sleep for about 10 hours tonight.)
But the last few days in Indianapolis was Heaven on Earth: watching live wrestling almost non-stop from 11:30 AM or NOON until 2:30 -3:00 AM and then waking up again to do it all over again for 3 days while sitting in the stands and hanging out with 2 of my best friends. And some really good names signed up to be in the game this weekend too. 2020 overall has been perhaps the worst year ever, but for one weekend almost everything was awesome.

brief recap from The Collective (I will try to keep it SPOILER free in regards to the show results:)
Thursday As soon as I got done with work at 2:00 I immediately turned off my labtop and packed it into my backpack and left home for the airport to catch my 4:00 flight to Chicago. I could not get a direct flight (or even an indirect flight that would not have involved multiple red-eye stops and arrival time of early Friday morning- not ideal when you are going to an event going on from 11 AM until 3 AM later that same day) on Thursday night from Las Vegas. So instead I flew into Chicago where my friend Yan (who used to live here in Las Vegas and who I used to ride with to go to PWG) picked me up as he was going to The Collective too. For dinner in Chicago, I had one of the best burritos I have ever eaten and then we drove to Indianapolis. On the way to Indianapolis, we passed places like Crown Pointe (home of BLP- I would be a regular at BLP if I lived in either Chicago or Illinois) and West Lafayette (home to Perdue University.) We got to the hotel about 2:30 AM (my friend stayed at the same hotel as did many of the fans and wrestlers at The Collective.)
Friday On Friday morning me and my friend picked up our other friend Alex (who flew in from Las Vegas early Thursday) at the airport (he had just returned a rental car that he used to go to a wrestling show at a bar in Ohio the previous night.) We ate breakfast at Waffle House (I had not been to Waffle House since Dallas in April 2014) and then went to The Collective. The first show was Jimmy Lloyd's D-Generation F which started at 11:00 AM and the 4th and final show was For the Culture which ended at almost 3:00 AM. The match of the night was AIW's no ropes barbed wire main event between Matthew Justice (managed by Bill Alphonso) vs Joshua Bishop.
Saturday Another day with my friends Alex and Yan watching 4 more live shows from 11:00 AM until a little after 2 AM. The show of the day and the show of the weekend was Joey Janela's Spring Break 4. In fact for me, it will probably be the show of the year for shows I attended in 2020. It sucks that Kylie Rae got hurt in her Freelance match against Josh Alexander.
Sunday I saw the first 2 shows (BLP and SHIMMER) before having to leave for the airport to catch my flight home to Las Vegas.
I liked getting to see my first Spring Break show, my first BLP show, my first Glory Pro show, and my first S.U.P. show. I have previously been to Freelance, AIW, SHIMMER, and (of course) GCW shows but it was good to see those feds again too.
The merch I bought: The Collective shirt, both of GCW's new card sets, and the book Too Sweet: Inside the Indie Wrestling Revolution. I would have bought a Spring Break 4 shirt but they did not have my size Medium in stock so instead I will order it online.
As for signings, each day I made some great signings (1 I mentioned is a women.) I was hoping for even more but the problem was that there was not much access to the wrestlers as after the shows all the fans got immediately funneled out of the venue so they could set up for the next show (which they want to start on time for FITE as I think online IPPV is where they made most of their money instead of the gate due to the limited 25% capacity in the building) and as a result inside the venue there were no wrestlers selling merch from the ring or from merch tables. Outside of the venue, there was a small number of wrestlers selling merch, but it was mostly the same names (WARHORSE, Danhausen, Allie Kat, etc) who we already had for the game. Plus the agent for some of the announced big names such as Heath and Carlito pulled them out of The Collective at the last minute. However, some of the biggest Indy names there that I was hoping to sign I met and I successfully managed to sign.
I think my only complaint was the food at that venue where I spent almost 16 hours on Friday and almost 16 hours on Saturday. The nachos were inedible (I threw them out.) Thankfully there was about a 2 hour break between the 2nd and 3rd shows on both Friday and Saturday so me and my friends used that time to drive elsewhere and get some decent food before returning to the venue for the 3rd and 4th shows those days.
My next show is GCW on Saturday in California which I am riding to with my friend Alex and another friend. After this weekend, I am not sure when I will be going to another show but if there is another Collective weekend in 2021 then I definitely plan to be there.

Sounds like a fun time other than the inability to get wrestlers signed as easily and of course having Heath and Carlito pulled.

I got an Email from GCW. Within the past 24 hours there have been multiple cases of COVID-19 being reported by people who attended The Collective. So far I am feeling fine (and there is a 50% chance I have been administered the Modena vaccine.)
