USW has a plethora of tag teams, including teams that were never meant to be. To give the USW some more singles talents, we have hired Mikey Whipwreck to the active roster. His first match will be on the next card where he will face Justin Credible. Also on the next card will be a match between DDP and Larry Hennig, with the winner receiving a USW contract.

United States Wrestling:
Card Number 8

Lou Thesz is in the ring to start the show. He mentions how Animal gave it his best, but as he said in his promo before the title bout, his best would not be good enough. He talks about how on social media, fans were giving him crap for not helping Animal when he was getting beat down by Rogers and his goons. “I am not here to be friends with anyone. I am here for Championships (Holds up the USW Title), and to be the best. What happened to Animal is not my concern”. His music hits and he leaves the ring with his title held high.

bWo (Blue Meanie and Super Nova) (1-2) vs The Fantastics (2-2): The two teams that lost the semi-final matches. A very competitive match that goes to a 30 minute time limit draw.

Animal comes out for an interview along with Marcus Bagwell and David Taylor. “Buddy Rogers. You continue to attack me. I beat you and you had your goons attack. I beat both of them, and you still attack. But the last show was the last straw. It wasn’t enough that I lost the USW Championship match. You and your idiots attacked me again. Well, enough is enough. I asked these two to watch my back, and that’s exactly what they did. Now, Bagwell and Taylor face Baker and Hughes a little bit later. As for you, I’m challenging you to a fight. And after I beat you; AGAIN, you can go tell your goons that you’re really not as good as you think you are. I’m going to hurt you and enjoy doing it.”

Ivan Koloff (1-3) vs Disco Inferno (1-2): Disco throws Koloff out of the ring and that was a huge mistake. Koloff grabs Discos leg, pulls him out and then rams him into the ring post. Koloff gets him back in the ring and nails the “RUSSIAN SICKLE” for the victory.

The Vachons are backstage. They talk about the fact that they will hurt Morton and Gibson to win the USW Tag Titles later tonight.

Marcus Bagwell and David Taylor (1-1) vs Heart and Soul (Ox Baker and Mr. Hughes) (0-0): Bagwell and Taylor had Ox Baker isolated. Things broke down when Baker leaves the ring for a breather and Taylor followed. Baker uses his “grinding bear hug” and then slams Taylor into the ring post to cause a disqualification. 8:18 Bagwell jumps on Baker to get him off Taylor. Then Mr. Hughes enters the picture and blindsides Bagwell. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers comes out to direct traffic for his “goons”. Animal sprints out to attack Rogers, but Rogers avoids him and high tails it out of there. Animal then delivers a huge clothesline to Baker, getting him off of Taylor. Mr. Hughes stops attacking Bagwell and gathers Baker to leave the ring side area.

Animal: “Buddy Rogers. You coward. You come out to attack these two men when they are already down. But when I come out, you no longer have the upper hand and you run like the bitch that you are. I’ve been tired of this and of you. I challenge you to a match. Inside a steel cage where there can be no interference. Do you have the balls?”

The Rock and Roll Express are in the back and tell the Vachons that they heard what was said. It’s gonna take a lot more than talk to beat them. The tag titles are ours daddy!

Mikey Whipwreck (0-0) vs Justin Credible (2-3): Whipwreck controlled much of the match and beats Credible with the “WHIPPER SNAPPER”. 13:26

Win the match, win the contract:
DDP vs Larry Hennig: This match had a 30 minute time limit. And every last second was used in this one. Back and forth. Inside and out. Both wrestlers wanted the contract badly. The end came at the 29:45 mark when Hennig makes a mistake and DDP is able to nail the “DIAMOND CUTTER”. DDP is able to make the cover and get the win at 29:58. DDP is a member of the USW roster!

USW Tag Team Championship:
The Rock and Roll Express(3-1) vs The Vachons(3-1): The Rock and Roll Express are dominant and win following the “DOUBLE DROPKICK”. 5:44

The Rock and Roll Express are the first ever USW Tag Team Champions!!

The USW Committee has released the following statement:

It does not matter whether or not Buddy Rogers has any "balls". His actions have consequences. On the 12th and final card of this season, the USW will sponsor a 2 night PPV entitled 'Helter Skelter'. Road Warrior Animal will get "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers inside a steel cage. And, it will be a best 2 out of 3 falls. Other matches to be announced in the coming weeks.

United States Wrestling:
Card Number 9

A recap of the past 8 shows. The Buddy Rogers vendetta against Animal including Roger’s hitmen Heart and Soul (Ox Baker and Mr. Hughes). Animal got friends of his own in David Taylor and Marcus Bagwell. Lou Thesz becoming the first USW Champion. The Rock and Roll Express winning the USW Tag Team Titles.

Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (1-2) vs bWo (Blue Meanie and SuperNova) (1-2): SuperNova was isolated. Iron Sheik locked in the “Camel Rider”. Blue Meanie came in for the save and then went ham and laid into the Iron Sheik. He went to the outside and grabbed a steal chair and laid waste to both Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff who win via a DQ. 9:22

USW Champion Lou Thesz (5-0) vs Sam Houston (1-2): All Lou Thesz. He hits the “GRECO ROMAN BACKDROP” but surprisingly Houston gets a foot on the rope. Thesz then lands the “THESZ PRESS” for the victory. :46

Lou Thesz goes to the interview area. He is asked about any next potential challenger. Thesz states that it doesn’t matter who is the next challenger as he can not be beaten. It is then revealed that next week will be a #1 contenders match between Barry Windham and D’Lo Brown.

DDP (1-0) vs Billy Lyons (1-2): DDP starts off on the offensive, but Lyons quickly reverses and then locks in a “FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK” for the victory. 3:00

D’Lo Brown (4-2) vs Jimmy Valiant (1-2): D’Lo Brown who was just announced as being in the #1 contenders match next week, was pretty much man handled by Valiant. A long match but Valiant weakened Brown with the “nerve hold” and then got the pin following “roundhouse punches”. 15:20

Barry Windham (3-2) vs Stevie Richards (3-2): Windham takes Richards out effortlessly and gets the victory after a “LARIAT”. 6:40 Safe to say that Windham is more than ready for the #1 contenders match next week.

Texas Tornado Match:
David Taylor and Marcus Bagwell vs Heart and Soul (Ox Baker and Mr. Hughes): A wild brawl from start to finish. Bagwell has Mr. Hughes pinned after a “YELLOWJACKET SUPLEX” but Baker is able to make the save. Meanwhile, Buddy Rogers is able to sneak in the ring and hit David Taylor with a pipe, allowing Ox Baker to get the pinfall victory. 17:43

Buddy Rogers is in the ring with a mic.

Rogers: “Animal. I don’t owe you or anyone else an explanation as to why I hate you so much. I’m gonna give it to you anyway. You came to United States Wrestling without your partner. Without Road Warrior Hawk. And rather than find another partner, you had the audacity to think that you could be a singles star. You actually thought that you were at my level? You’re nothing. I friggin hate you for that. It all comes to a head at Helter Skelter. 2 out of 3 falls inside a steel cage. And lets up the ante a bit. Let’s also make this a loser leaves town match. I hate your guts so much that I am willing to put my career here on the line.”

JR: “We finally hear why the Nature Boy has had it out for Animal since the beginning. An interesting development as he has challenged Animal to a loser leaves the fed match. On top of it being a best 2 out of 3 falls, cage match. A great show tonight as we have two number 1 contenders matches. A tag match between The Vachons and The Fantastics for the chance to face the Rock And Roll Express at Starcade. And the main event is for the opportunity to face the USW Championship held by Lou Thesz between Barry Windham and D’Lo Brown. Plus the fore mentioned Buddy Rogers takes on Disco Inferno.”

Mikey Whipwreck vs Ox Baker: Baker has the momentum for a bit but Whipwreck is able to reverse and win following the “WHIPPER-SNAPPER” at the 4:00 mark.

Justin Credible vs Blue Meanie: A back and forth match that ends in a 20:00 time limit draw.

Ivan Koloff vs SuperNova: This match was all Ivan Koloff. A “double stomp” for the victory in 4:04.

Number One Contenders Match: Tag Team Championship:
The Fantastics vs The Vachons: The winners will face The Rock and Roll Express at Starcade: Helter Skelter. Pretty uneventful match. The Fantastics have control the entire match and Bobby Fulton pins Butcher Vachon following a “right hand punch” that catches Vachon flush. 7:56

The Fantastics are the number one contenders.

Buddy Rogers vs Disco Inferno: “Jumping Knee Smash” for the win although Disco put up a fight.

After the match, Road Warrior Animal comes out and gives the slit throat motion to Buddy Rogers.

Lou Thesz comes out to do commentary for the next match. He mentions that it doesn’t matter who wins the next match, he will be victorious at Starcade.

Number One Contenders Match: USW Championship
Barry Windham vs D’Lo Brown: Before the match, Lou Thesz does mention that the run that D’Lo is on is quite impressive. That being said, Windham was dominant. A “SWEETWATER SUPERPLEX” but D’Lo got a foot on the rope. Windham followed that up with the “LARIAT” for the victory. 2:56

Barry Windham stares at Thesz and gives the belt is mine motion.

Starcade Night One

Kevin and Kerry Von Erich vs “Gentleman” Chris Adams and “Handsome” Gino Hernandez: In classis Von Erich/Dynamic Duo tradition, they fight inside the ring and outside the ring. Multiple weapons used. A fight that ends in a 30 minute time limit draw.

Sting vs The Great Muta: A back and forth match. These guys reversed each other multiple times. Muta gets the win following a “jumping spin kick” at 12:26.

The Steiner Bros. vs The Hardy Bros: Another match that was as advertised. Back and forth the whole match. Matt Hardy hit Scott with a “TWIST OF FATE” but Scott kicked out. A short time later, The Steiner Bros nail Brother Nero with the “STEINER DOG” for the victory. 26:14

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes vs “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff: Nikita and Cody go back and forth. Huge ref bump, but both wrestlers abide by the rules. Cody hits “CROSSRHODES” as the ref is coming to. 1-2-NO! Nikita gets a shoulder up. Nikita takes control and nails the “RUSSIAN SICKLE” for the victory. 7:33

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Hiroshi Tanahashi: Nakamura is dominant. “BOMA YE” for the win. (Promoter’s note: Nakamura with three finisher spots; damn! He hit 5 finishers to win.) 7:26

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair vs “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes: Dusty locks in a quick “FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK” but Flair is able to reverse out. Flair takes control and gets the victory following the “PIN USING ROPES”. 4:02

The FWA (Filsinger Wrestling Alliance) has developed a new fed that is called MLW (Maple Leaf Wrestling). They will have four qualifying matches at Starcade to determine the four wrestlers fighting for the MLW Championship.
