So I ordred the main colors LOW sets and started playing around a bit. In reading through other feds I found mention of a few resources that are out there: 1) Smathis scheduling system filsingergames.proboards.com/thread/5864/smathis-lwf-scheduling-systemThis got me thinking as I am more interested in the action and stats so some automation is welcome. I took the cards I have and broke them into divisions (for now, wanted to ultimately have separate feds/territories, etc). Using this system seems better for just a single fed, so I guess I could just run each more separately but wanted to somehow intertwine the booking so one one "show" I would have matches from all feds. Going back to then manipulate the tiers of contender/challengers then seemed a bit clunky so perhaps its just a matter of making some spreadsheets to assist, but curious how others handle this. 2) Bookerbill's fed chart I saw this referenced and reached out to get a copy so I have that handy now. Looks like maybe that could be used with the smathis system somehow.
Ideally I wanted to push to be a bit more "sim-like" from a high level but then do the matches as normal. I like the idea of the matches counting across the card, so with #1 the system pushes to weed out the weaker wrestlers and allows for a constant flow of new talent. That process can then be used to spin stories/angles vs the other way around. Are there any other interesting techniques you recommend?

That's actually pretty much what I've done in the past. Instead of having wrestlers leave because of Smathis' system, they just drop out of the rankings. They're still used to fill out cards or as injury replacements etc, unless the fed management chart dictates they leave. You could use it to manage the rankings of each fed, with the occasional supercard that doesn't count in the ratings.

I played through four weeks using the system and after weeding out the bottom bracket it seems to me I might be better served to have a mix of the top end guys ranked and then a pool of supplemental wrestlers that are in a common pool who could break into any of the feds. Like you said, an injury or a spot needs to be be filled or the chart causes an opening and someone can move up into the ranked section of the fed.
Its interesting to see the direction the pool of characters/cards causes in a fed. My GWF 2087 fed is basically everyone in one fed since the roster is small enough. My 2127 fed feels like its right at the point of being a bit bloated based on the card size I run, but maybe not as large as to make me want to divide into different feds. I still want that to be one fed, but then seeing all the LOW cards where there is a lot of star power it just appeared logical to break them into smaller feds so more can shine at the same time. Maybe its since I am using real guys I feel obliged to set them up in a more structured format? GWF cards I run much more loose, but I am intrigued by adding some more fed management to mix.
