You did use turnips? Same here in the southern part of Germany. The pumpkin came in much later

As a kid I enjoyed both and now as an adult, well its still a tie for this guy LOL

I like both but Xmas much more by large margin. For me Halloween was great as a kid due to trick or treating and horror movies on TV. These days I just by candy if I want it and horror movies are main stream so can see them year round. Seeing them go main stream is cool but does take away the specialness of them being on in October. Also Xmas music kicks ass. Well most of the traditional stuff and some of the newer stuff but not much of the newer. I get a kick out of flying down the highway, passing people all while blasting Xmas music. Xmas has a slight edge in decorations as it has become more common to decorate for Halloween.

Now that my holiday break has begun, I will reiterate that I prefer Christmas by a wide margin!!
