Hi all, was wondering if you could answer a few questions about the online client that I happened to stumble upon today (cool btw) A)Can you make customizable charts for the game or tinker with the existing ones (deathjump, out of the ring, etc) B)If you make customizable characters, can you upload pictures for them? C)Is there a way to make customizable matches, and constrict the rules for them outside of the pre-programmed ones? D)Are there concrete plans to release all the sets online eventually? I see old school sets only go up the the first eight years or so. Obviously, this would be more for the full board versions, and not the simulator, but from my old fed, we had some *odd* rules that I wouldn't mind importing. In general, anything else that is "customizable" would be beneficial to know if you feel it's worth adding, but overall, looks fairly interesting. Thanks for any input you can provide.

Hey, I can help! ;D
First off, glad what you did see you thought was cool!
Now to your questions...
A) No ability to tinker with charts at this time. Both the Simulator and the Game Table use the official COTG charts only.
B) You can't upload, but there are over 400 or so pieces of color stock character art that are selectable and sortable (by male/female, alien/human, etc). You can also attach any artwork from official cards you own to a Create-a-Character card.
C) The cool thing about the Game Table is that you can apply ANY match you've created, just like you would if you were playing traditionally with cards and dice. We are planning to add a whole bunch more matches to the Game Table once the new, 'ultimate' Ringside Companion comes out this year.
In regards to the Simulator, there are a handful of official matches programmed in to select from. We also plan on adding more special matches to the simulator as time goes on.
D) Yes! There are plans to release all paper sets online eventually. The Sudden Death Pack (game years 2094-2095) and Revolution Pack (2096-2098) are both scheduled to be released this year. Also, all new GWF and aCe releases will be available through COTGonline.
Hope these answers helped!

Hmm, not to be overly picky, but I have a feeling if I got involved with this, I'd be buying everything.... :-p
So I don't know if this is appropriate in this thread or not (I'm not a big internet poster, bear with me), but a couple things I wanted to inquire about potential "upgrades" (heck I'd pay extra for them)
A)Is it foreseeable in the future that a chart editing feature will exist?
B)Is it foreseeable in the future that match rules may be editable (i.e. just overlays much like the current cage match and what not)
C)This one's really out of whack, but is it possible to code in a 8-sided die as a potential roller? (Some of our charts, like our updated feud chart worked on 2 8's... wanted more options, lol) I know that's paramount to heresy in COTG land, but hey, gotta do something.
It's so funny, I saw this, pulled my briefcase out of all my old cards and stared at them last night. Already read all the books up to 2109. This would definately be the thing to pull me back into this, I'm just a schmuck who likes tinkering with every last detail, lol.
Obviously, the above aren't things that are there now, but what's the over/under on them appearing down the road?

From a technical perspective, it's all possible to varying degrees of difficulty. How's that for a non answer =)

Obviously, the above aren't things that are there now, but what's the over/under on them appearing down the road? I don't have any official answers but if I was you this is what I would do. I don't currently have the gametable but when I reup my subscription I will. I have a barbed-wire match I made myself that is use for a hardcore title. What I will do is when I have those matches I'll have my chart (or pdf) handy and my own dice. When those situations come up I'll just have to hand roll them myself. Might seem to beat the point of having it online but it works for me. Since my charts just use two 6 sided dice I could use the dice in the game table. But if you were going to use anything other than them for the time being you'd have to have 2 8-sided dice by your computer as well as you special charts. Once they release the ringside companion which I'm assuming will be in pdf you'll have tons of specialty matches and they will be on your computer in pdf form. That way when you're playing online you'll just open the pdf at the same time you have game table open and use the dice feature in gametable. They wouldn't be directly in gametable but it would still be effective...

True, but one of the things that always drove me nuts was the number of DQ's I'd get from Out of the Ring & Deathjump, and I'm just not much for DQ's, so I've eliminated most of them and re-wrote the out of the ring & deathjump charts (heck, I've got them saved somewhere on a .doc file, they look spiffy). So those are charts that come up ALL the time...
Obviously, the 8 siders I can deal with, but it's one of those "if it wouldn't be too much trouble, can we slide it in?" type of things. :-) But being able to edit the charts would be bombastic for that very reason. *shrug* I dunno, I'm still probably ponying up some $ this weekend, because I just feel the need to.
But, I guess one more "serious" question, because I haven't seen the speed in which the previous ones hit, how quick are the sets coming online? I call this the "Max Shield" curse, because right about the time any of my feds gets to the Megatournament, that's when I stop playing for one reason or another, so I've never had an actual fed match featuring Max Shield (we could call it the Mandrill curse, but his mechanics are not nearly as appealing!) So I want to make sure this isn't something that just stops at the Civil War... :-p

All the sets will be online eventually.

Do we know what "eventually" means? (Not being sarcastic, I'm really asking)
Because the difference between 1 set a month & 1 set a year is rather glaring. Just wondering what the timeframe is estimation wise.
