Do you have Cornette with Ravishing Desire (aka The Leftover Express)? .... Nope, Cornette and the Express proper are still somewhere in my fictional territory system waiting for their comeback whenever I decide to use them again. Good idea though. I do think these guys would benefit from someone at ringside, but I'm thinking a valet since Jimmy Hart has it locked down as the main heel manager in the territory. I'm not a huge fan of manager cards but this is why we need a couple more color manager cards like Humperdink.

World Championship Wrestlingw/ Tony and David Tony Schiavone started the show with a brief recap of the major events from the New Year's supershow, then was interrupted once again by James Mitchell. The Sinister Minister said every time you think you've got them down, the army grows stronger. He introduced the newest member of his "house of horrors" Eric The Red. Eric The Red defeated Mike Jackson after a BACKBREAKER.This was not really the showcase match one would want for a debut. Jackson got a lot of offense in and would not stay down on numerous pin attempts. Finally Eric bludgeoned Jackson bloody by using the bone he carried to ringside as a weapon and kept him down with a backbreaker after running Jackson's pin so high he literally could not kick out again. After the match Hugh Morrus came out with the Mummy. Morrus used NO LAUGHING MATTER on Jackson two times as Mummy kept referees and security from getting into the ring and Eric bashed everything in sight at ringside with the bone. Meanwhile Scotty Riggs and Marcus Bagwell, The American Males were standing by with Tony and David, set to make their return to the rings here, and had seen enough. The hit the ring and peppered the treacherous trio with dropkicks and forearms until the numbers caught up with them and the Mummy grabbed Riggs by the throat and tossed him clear over the top rope to the floor. Bagwell took a backbreaker by Eric and then No Laughing Matter by Morrus. Mitchell was finally satisfied with the damage his men had done and ordered them to leave. King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd (w/Rock Riddle) defeated Ranger Ross and George South.South and Ross were thrown together at the last moment and wrestled like it. Ross put up a fight, but Studd and Bundy won with relative ease. The pin came after the AVALANCHE on Ross. A gloating Rock Riddle led his men to the interview area after the match. He said everyone saw Big John Studd beat Sgt Slaughter on New Year's day and it was just a preview of what will happen when Slaughter and Kernodle put the tag team titles on the line against his unstoppable duo. Riddle then excused himself, saying he needed to head back to ringside for some scouting. Keith Larson defeated Thunderfoot after a CROSS BODY BLOCK. Another nice win for the upstart Larson, who scored the pin in about two minutes. Riddle approached Larson after the match and said he wanted to talk business. Larson was hesitant and tried to walk away, but the motor mouth Riddle followed and kept talking all the way to the back. Next David Crockett welcomed Florida heavyweight champion Jack Brisco. Jack said it's good to be back in Atlanta and even though he enjoys the sunshine state more than anyplace he's glad to come and compete today to show everyone around the world that Jack Brisco is still around. David touted Jack's amateur credentials and asked what he thought about Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle announcing his intentions to turn pro. Jack said he had a distinguished collegiate career but never got the luxury to play around in the Olympics because he had to go pro to feed his family. He said Angle will find out the pro ranks are a lot different and more competitive. David asked how he thinks he's match up with Angle. Jack laughed and said that's a challenge that may get him out of Florida and if that happens Angle will have David to blame. Florida champion Jack Brisco defeated Wild Bill White.White didn't stand a chance as Jack was on him from the opening bell and won with the FIGURE FOUR in about a minute. Jimmy Valiant, Thunderbolt Patterson, and Sam Houston won by countout over Manny Fernandez, Masked Superstar, and Rodney Mack.A good fight to close the show. When the going got tough, Redd Dogg Rodney got going again, taking the intentional countout after a beating by Thunderbolt. * Jimmy and crew closed the show with Tony and David. Jimmy said "If you can't trust a donkey, who can you trust? Real men and real friends like T-bolt and Michael Samuel Houston!". Bolt was fuming at Rodney for running away yet again, saying he went from Russian red to dog yellow and he can run but he won't be able to hide from the red, white, black, and blue beating Thunderbolt is going to lay on him.
* I am serious, Rodney has lost the last two matches by countout when he was in with Thunderbolt and it was not a planned angle. But it is now. Praise the dice gods for laying a storyline out for me with these two because I had very little to work with otherwise.

CWA Wrestlingw/ Lance Russell Lance opened the show recapping the big main event from last week. Sputnik Monroe came out to disparage Jackie Fargo for his losing effort agains the Southern champ Bill Dundee. Fargo walked out to respond and, of course, the fight was on. They brawled around the ringside area before Monroe tossed Fargo into the ring to begin an impromptu match. Jackie Fargo beat Sputnik Monroe in an unscheduled match. The two were in street clothes and there wasn't even a referee. However, it didn't matter to Fargo who backed Monroe into the buckle right away, hit a couple of stiff kicks, pulled him to the center of the ring and used a roaring forearm smash to set up an ATOMIC DROP. A referee slid in and counted the pin. Monroe went back over to Lance to plead his case, saying that wasn't a sanctioned match and doesn't count. Lance told him it didn't matter in the eyes of the fans, because everyone just saw what happened. Sputnik said they'll get an eyeful then when they see what he does to Fargo next time. The New Rockers beat Frogman LeBlanc and Rusty Shackelford.Rus didn't even get in the ring as Marty and Leif made quick work of the Frogman. After the match the Rockers told Lance they came here for competition and to show who the REAL Rockers in wrestling are. Leif said Ricky and Robert are old news like Chubby Checker and they are cool like Kip Winger. Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor came to ringside and said they're looking for some competition too and want to get into the tag team title picture, so if the Rockers want a match it will be waiting in the ring for them. Lance was getting a little irritated at the wrestlers trying to book their own matches, but matchmaker Eddie Marlin came out and said if the fans want to see it he'll let it happen. The fans did indeed want to see it, so here we go. The New Rockers beat Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor.A real good and evenly fought match. Maximum pin saves by Leif and Marty and one by Taylor in retaliation when Christopher was in trouble. In the end BC and SC were distracted by the appearance of PG-13 at ringside and Christopher walked right into a superkick by Marty for the pin. Austin Idol, number one contender to the Southern heavyweight champion, came out to talk to Lance. Idol said it's been a rocky road back to the top, but the journey is almost there. He said he appreciates the support of the fans who have been in his corner, but he knows when he faces Dundee it will be a split crowd and that's okay. Austin vowed to win the title back and win the rest of the crowd over in the process. Eddie and Doug Gilbert were out next to brag about Doug's win last week. Lance added "tainted win" but Eddie told him to shut up because a win is a win and they're about to make it two in a row against Tracy Smothers. Tracy Smothers won by disqualification over Doug Gilbert.Tracy had Doug in trouble and Doug rolled out of the ring. Tracy did a slingshot dive over the ropes and landed on Doug and Eddie. He threw Doug back in the ring and went for a pin after a slingshot dropkick, but Eddie jumped in and attacked Smothers. Doug got up after the bell and helped put the boots to Smothers. The Gilberts finished the job with a double team Hot Shot to leave Smothers laid out and hurting. Before the main event Brickhouse Brown came out for comments. He said Koko Ware is his friend, but he's come back here with a little chip on his shoulder. Brown said he understands and Koko makes some sense, but he's going to stay back and watch this match without taking sides. Dutch Mantell won by disqualification over Koko B Ware.Koko attacked at the bell and had Dutch overwhelmed early. Mantell fought his way back into the match and things got heated as the action went to the floor. It turned into a fight after that, spilling out of the ring one more time. Koko lost his temper and hit Dutch over the back with a folding chair to get disqualified. Koko appeared ready to hit Dutch with the chair again when Brown ran over and stepped in the way. Koko tossed the chair aside, told Brickhouse he was going to have to make a decision, and walked away in disgust.

AWA All Star WrestlingLarry Nelson with the show open and announcement of the big main event, a tag team title return match between champions The Texas Hangmen and the Long Riders. Also, Doctor X takes on Adrian Adonis in an American title match qualifier. Larry Zbyszko into the studio with Saito in tow to complain about the fans chanting for him to go into a cage with Trooper, like he's some sort of animal. He said he belongs in the AMerican title match, not the dog kennel. Nelson explained that Stanley Blackburn has declared that Larry Z is OUT of consideration for the championship based on his recent nefarious actions. Larry threw a chair, flipped a table, and said it's a conspiracy against him but he's going to stick it to everyone in the AWA when he earns a shot at whatever spudhead wins the title then he's going to become world champion and make sure the title is never defended in the AWA again. Larry The Axe Hennig beat Sodbuster Kenny Jay.Hennig was out to make a statement and dispatched Jay with THE AXE in about a minute. At ringside after the match Hennig told Ken Resnick he'll be watching the match between Adonis and Doctor X closely because he intends to qualify next week and there's some unfinished business between Doctor X and him. He hopes it's X, but no matter what he's coming out of the thing the new American champion. Ric McCord upset Mad Dog Vachon via pinfall with a flying bodypress.Mad Dog tore into McCord early, but got sloppy and let McCord get back into the match with a pair of flying dropkicks. Ric hit the bodypress and got a quick three count to the shock of all witnessing. After the match Mad Dog attacked McCord and was laying the boots to him until THE TROOPER came out to make the save. At ringside Trooper said every law breaker in the AWA better watch their back because it's not just Larry Zbyszko he's got his eye on, it's ANYONE who thinks they are above the law. Playboy Buddy Rose and Doug Somers (w/Sherri) defeated Red Bastien and Billy Red Lyons in controversial fashion. This is developing inot a heated rivalry. Very good tag team match here. In the end Lyons had the FIGURE FOUR on Rose, but Somers came in and broke it up with a boot to the head of Lyons. Red ran over and brawled with Somers while Lyons headed up to the top turnbuckle. As the referee was distracted with Red and Doug, Sherri Martel shoved Lyons off the top rope. He crashed to the matc and Rose made the cover just as the referee turned around to count the pin. Doctor X beat Adrian Adonis to qualify for an American title match.Real classic here. Adonis had him in trouble, but X rallied back with blistering forearm smashes and finished it off with a standing surfboard Adonis could not escape. The time of the match roughly twelve minutes. Back in the studio with Larry Nelson and Bruiser Brody stomping around and looking high and low. He was calling out Nick Bockwinkel and said he can't find him anywhere but Nicky has something he wants and that's the NWA world title. Brody said maybe he needs to go look in Atlanta, or maybe Memphis, or maybe they can even meet up in Japan for another Pro Wrestling Japan supershow. Wherever it is he'd better bring that gold belt and the money that goes with it, because they belong to Brody. The Long Riders beat The Texas Hangmen to win the AWA tag team championship. They called the Hangmen champs for short, but not for long. Even attempted interference by the third Hangman Strangler could not delay the inevitable as Scott finished off Psycho with the SUPERPLEX in a spectacular brawl of a match to secure the gold. Resnick talked with the new champs at ringside after the match. He said the fans sound excited to see the Long Riders as champs, something they haven't experienced much in their careers. Wild Bill said it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, they can boo or cheer and they'll do plenty of both by the time the Long Riders are done because the Irwin brothers will do whatever it takes against anyone who challenges. All that matters is keeping the tag team championship.

New Year's Resolution: MORE STAR POWER!
World Championship Wrestlingw/Tony Schiavone and David CrockettTony and David were joined by commissioner Bill Watt to start the show. He announced that following their actions last week The House Of Horrors (Mummy, Hugh Morrus, Eric The Red) are officially suspended until further notice. The American Males came out and protested. Marcus said they don't want them suspended, they want them in the ring to get back at them for thinking they can toss the American Males around and not face payback. Riggs agreed and said the bigger they are, the harder they'll fall, and those guys are going to fall hard. Watts was adamant that there should be some punishment, so they are off TV for the next two weeks. But if the American Males want the match they've got it at the next untelevized event in Norfolk Virginia. The Males headed to the ring for their match and Percy Pringle III* made his way over to Tony and David. He said the wrestling world is going to be turned upside down today because the game changer is here to take over the wrestling world and Percy Pringle the third is here to manage him. Tony said we'd see that match later in the program. The American Males defeated The Mulkey Brothers. Randy and Bill did what they did best here. The Males got the win in about three minutes with a double dropkick and pin. Olympic great Kurt Angle talked with Tony and David next. He said he's been training with the best pro trainers in the world and he's about ready to make his debut. He said once again that Jack Brisco had a nice little college career, but he won the Olympic gold with a broken neck, so nothing the pros can throw at him can compare. Keith Larson made his way out with Rock Riddle close behing and got in Angle's face. He said he wants to officially welcome Angle to the pros and give him his first defeat right here, right now. Angle agreed on the spot and the gold medalist headed to the ring. Kurt Angle beat Keith Larson with the ANKLE LOCK.Larson started the match quick, catching Angle off guard and scoring a hip toss, drop kick, and CROSS BODY BLOCK for a near fall in the opening seconds! Angle quickly turned it around and used a body scissors and sleeper to ground Larson, then transitioned into the ANKLE LOCK for the win. Tag team champions Sgt Slaughter and Don Kernodle came out and Don berated Rock Riddle. He said Larson is a kid with a future but Riddle gassing up his head to make him think he can take on an Olympic gold medalist is ridiculous and he knows what Riddle is doing and it's not gonna work. RIddle said maybe Sarge and Don would like to share with the audience if they know his plans so well. Or maybe Riddle will spill their little secret. Sarge told him to cut the crap and Rock said he'd be glad to...IF the champs give Studd and Bundy a title match later tonight. The champs agreed and the match was made. After the break Bob Backlund and Arnold Skaaland came out. Bob said he's on a mission to prove he is the best wrestler in the world and get another title match with the world champion Nick Bockwinkel. With that in mind, he is beginning the international invitational where he will take on all comers from around the world every week until the championship committee cannot deny him and he gets his shot at Bockwinkel. His first challenger is the British heavyweight champion Dave Taylor. Bob Backlund defeated England's Dave Taylor in an International Invitational match.Great wrestling here. Taylor had Backlund in trouble, but Bob rallied and won after an ATOMIC DROP in about six minutes. Percy Pringle entered the scene and shrieked "he's here! And the world will never be the same!" With that, we cue the music. RAVISHING RICK RUDE demolished Sam Houston and won after the RUDE AWAKENING.Rick jumped at the bell and Houston had no answer. Rick pinned him in about two minutes. After the bout Rick talked with Tony and David. He said everyone from Jimmy Valiant to soon to be former US champ Tommy Rich is on notice that there's a new number one in town and his name is Ravishing Rick Rude. He vowed to end Tommy Rich's US title reign and do what Rich only wishes he could have done and become the new world heavyweight champion and there's not a man alive on God's green Earth who can do anything about it. Sgt Slaughter and Don Kernodle beat Studd and Bundy to defend the world tag team championship. What a brawl. Sarge survived a beating and tagged into Don, who came in to take care of Studd. A second tag later and it was the ATOMIC BOMB on the big man to secure the win in about twelve minutes. After the match Rock Riddle said this isn't over by a longshot and one way or another, by hook or by crook, those tag team title are coming back where they belong: into the stable of Rock Riddle. * Percy brought to you by the great 2013 Championship Wrestling Hollywood unofficial card released by Grant. With a few minor modifications where he uses the cane instead of the "PP3 Cup" on chart rolls (PP3 cup was the trophy they were using a story device at the time. Look it up, good stuff).
