RAW IS WAR #1 Veterans Memorial Auditorium, Des Moines, Iowa
As Renaissance of American Wrestling debuts with the Championship Challenge, fans pack into the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa; you can almost taste the excitement in the air! Every fan has their favorites picked out, but the name mostly echoed is Thesz. Race is a strong contender for second place, and Brody surely has his fans as well.
As the cameras catch Thesz walking into the arena, he is aghast at an awful smell. He looks around and sees RVD sitting in the corner smoking. RVD looks up and smiles. Race, already backstage, walks over and nods at Thesz.
Lou Thesz: Is that hippie smoking a marijuana cigarette?
Harley Race: That would be a doobie, Lou.
Lou Thesz: What the hell? I’m already getting lightheaded. What’s his name?
Harley Race: I think Jean-Claude Van Damme; he does karate or something.
Lou Thesz: This is pro-wrestling! What’s a karate guy doing here, Race?
Harley Race: You know how the suits are always wanting to change up the sport. Look, I wouldn’t worry about him. You should worry—
Lou Thesz: You ain’t doing nothing, monkey spotter.
Harley Race: I think you mean—
A chair is suddenly tossed at Thesz and Race.
Bruiser Brody: HUSS~!
Championship Challenge —
1) “The Whole F’n Show” RVD defeats Bobo Brazil via pinfall. Brazil is immediately shaken by the Van Daminator and leg drop across the guardrail. Fans are loving it, even though Bobo has never been out-cheered by an opponent. Brazil feels the Rolling Thunder and then is put away with a standing moonsault. Bobo shakes RVD’s hand after the match.
2) “Macho Man” Randy Savage defeats Bruiser Brody via pinfall. Brody is in rare form, trying to shake off the blast offense by Savage. “Macho Man” quickly goes for the Flying Elbow Smash. Brody isn’t going down that easy. After a flying axe handle, Brody is floored. Savage comes back with his finisher two more times for the victory.
3) Harley Race defeats “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig via pinfall. Hennig stuns Race with a massive standing dropkick and gets a two count, but Race comes back with a swift and aggressive Piledriver to put the match away quickly.
4) “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers defeats Lou Thesz via submission. Thesz, though a little off, takes Rogers fairly early with the Thesz Press; Rogers throws a boot on the rope. Thesz is obviously upset with himself for not putting the match away. He comes back with the Greco-Roman Backdrop; Rogers kicks out at two. Thesz paces the ring, but Rogers surprises him with the Figure Four Grapevine.
During intermission, Thesz is complaining backstage that RVD and his “disgusting drug habit” made his head foggy and he couldn’t wrestle properly. Race and Rogers appear and are eating it up.
Buddy Rogers: The “Nature Boy” beat you, Lou.
Harley Race: Lou, you didn’t win. Get over yourself.
“Mr. Perfect” walks up and smiles.
Curt Hennig: I think you would have won, Mr. Thesz. I, too, feel—
Lou Thesz: Shut the hell up, Curt.
5) “The Whole F’n Show” RVD defeats “Macho Man” Randy Savage via pinfall. This is easily the match of the night. RVD tries to end it with the body scissors cradle; Savage fights it off. “Macho Man” tries a sunset flip and is almost pinned. RVD hits the Van Daminator and Thesz comes out on commentary to complain about the style of RVD. Savage responds with the Flying Elbow Smash, flying axe handle to the outside, and a wild vaulting neck snap, but RVD shocks everyone in the arena with the Van Terminator. Thesz gets up and leaves the arena.
6) Harley Race defeats “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers via pinfall. Rogers strikes first for a nearfall after the jumping knee smash. Race comes back with a series of big moves. Rogers kicks out after the Vertical Suplex, Piledriver, Diving Headbutt, and a huge shoulder breaker. In the end, Race wins with a second Vertical Suplex.
Fans are told that RAW will host the World Tag Team Classic next month at the Hippodrome Auditorium in Waterloo, Iowa. They are told to expect some of the best names in tag team wrestling. The Road Warriors, Midnight Express, Miracle Violence Connection, and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express will be there!
RAW World Championship —
7) “The Whole F’n Show” RVD defeats Harley Race via disqualification. RVD becomes the first ever RAW World Champion. RVD controls most of the match. Race receives two Van Daminators and is almost put away with a standing moonsault. Race responds with the Vertical Suplex, but RVD kicks out and comes back with the Five Star Frog Splash! Race kicks out at the last minute and rolls out of the ring. He grabs a steel chair and begins beating the hell out of RVD! The referee sees enough and calls for the bell. RVD is too broken to celebrate his big title win.

RAW IS WAR #2 Hippodrome Auditorium, Waterloo, Iowa
The fans are packed in the Hippodrome Auditorium in Waterloo, Iowa. RVD’s music pours out of the loudspeakers and out comes the RAW World Champion. RVD interacts with the fans and then jumps into the ring. Before he can speak, Lou Thesz comes out and has some words.
Lou Thesz: You’re not a professional wrestler, Robert.
RVD: Well, Lou, I believe this belt says otherwise.
Lou Thesz: I’m going to cut to the chase, hippie; I want that belt that’s around your yellow belly. You see, Robert, only a real wrestler should hold that title. You’re a carnival acrobat, and a sloppy one at that. You disgrace that title. You disgrace pro-wrestling. Heck, it’ll take a gallon of baking soda and vinegar to get all the drugs off—
RVD: Mr. Thesz, I have no problem defending—
Lou Thesz: Well, if you’re not too high, maybe we can get this match—
Harley Race walks out and takes a microphone.
Harley Race: Thesz, wait a god... wait just a minute! I don’t know why you’re out here yapping like a puppy in heat, but I was the guy in the finals. Ol’ Lou wasn’t there. I’m next in line.
Lou Thesz: If I need to go through you, so be it.
Harley Race: So be it.
RVD smirks and holds up his belt.
RVD: I was told my style was supposed to give me a short career, but here I am.
Lou Thesz: You’re just high, kid.
Harley Race: Let him speak, Lou. He’s the champ. You’re not.
RVD: Whoever rises to the top between you two, I’ll be ready to defend this belt. However, that isn’t going to be easy.
World Tag Team Classic —
1) The Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering defeat Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff via pinfall. Hawk starts out with a big gorilla press slam for Iron Sheik, but Volkoff makes the save and comes back with a Backbreaker Drop on Hawk for a count of two. Animal is tagged in... and Volkoff is crushed... by the most feared move in all of wrestling, the Doomsday Device.
2) The Fantastics defeat the Sheepherders via pinfall. The match turns in favor of Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers when Butch Miller misses his Running Knee Smash. The Fantastics respond with the Fantastic Flip. In the end, Rogers clears Luke Williams from the ring apron... Fulton flies off the top turnbuckle with a perfect cross body block on Miller. 1, 2, & 3!
3) The Heavenly Bodies defeat the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express via pinfall. Ricky Morton is stopped in his tracks by a drop toe hold and elbow drop. Gibson is able to make the save. Morton goes to the top and dives; Lane counters the cross body block for a count of two. Prichard comes back in and slams Morton with the Dr. Tom Bomb for the victory.
4) The Miracle Violence Connection defeat the Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette via submission. Gordy is quick to go down to the Rocket Launcher, but he is able to power out at two. “Dr. Death” hits Condrey with a massive standing dropkick and goes for the cover; Eaton makes the save! Having enough of the shenanigans, Gordy pulls out the Oriental Spike on Condrey. Jim Cornette charges in with his tennis racket; however, Williams takes it from him and clobbers Eaton and Cornette. Condrey slightly taps out as he begins to fade.
At intermission, Bruiser Brody stumbles through the crowd and concession area.
Bruiser Brody: HUSS~!
Gorgeous George, backstage, begs Brody to calm down.
Gorgeous George: Sir, could you please bring it down a notch? Also, why not go wash up a bit?
Bruiser Brody: HUSS~!
Brody plants George with a big boot and pours concession food all over him.
5) The Heavenly Bodies defeat the Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering via disqualification. Stan Lane makes Animal explode and the match falls apart immediately. As Hawk and Tom Prichard begin to hammer it out up the ramp, Animal grabs a steel chair and clobbers Lane. The referee calls for the bell and the fans show their displeasure. It takes some time for Hawk and Animal to be calmed down and sent to the back.
6) The Fantastics defeat the Miracle Violence Connection via pinfall. This was easily the match of the night. Gordy is first to go down with the Rocket Launcher; “Dr. Death” makes the save. Williams and Gordy respond with massive double football tackles on both Rogers and Fulton. The girls in the audience have a nervous breakdown! After some stiff hits, Gordy drops Rogers with the Bamm Bamm Slam; Fulton is there to break up the pin. Williams drops Fulton with a belly to belly suplex and a massive second turnbuckle stomp to the face. Fulton rebounds and places Williams on the turnbuckle and throws him off for a slow two count. In the end, Gordy can’t seem to get the hot tag, and Fulton picks up a two count with the Fantastic Cradle. As Gordy climbs to his feet, Fulton hits a nasty dropkick to the back of Gordy’s head... 1! 2! 3!
RAW World Tag Team Championship —
7) The Heavenly Bodies defeat the Fantastics via pinfall. “Doctor” Tom Prichard and “Sweet” Stan Lane become the first ever RAW World Tag Team Champions. Rogers and Fulton respond first with a double sit-out hip toss. Lane kicks out and almost steals the win from the Fantastics when he counters a sunset flip. Prichard gets a two count after a jumping knee drop. After taking in a lot of offense, Lane hulks up and responds with the Russian Leg Sweep. In the end, Lane tags in Prichard and whips him into Fulton with a hard clothesline. As Prichard goes for the cover, Lane runs the apron and dives into Rogers, refusing to let this pin attempt be broken. 1! 2! 3!

Backstage, Iron Sheik is obviously flustered; Volkoff tries to calm him.

After the match, Alexis Smirnoff and Boris Zhukov charge the ring with apologies.

Gorgeous George’s music plays and out he comes, Cherie Dupré at his side.
Gorgeous George: Why must you force me to step in the ring with this brute?
J.J. Dillon: I thought last month’s confrontation was funny. Therefore, I figured why not have you and Brody going at it in the ol’ squared circle. Furthermore, I—
Gorgeous George: You could have at least asked Dupré and—
J.J. Dillon: I came out here to announce that RAW has just signed a weekly television contract with USA Network. RAW will, of course, come at you every month from the best arenas around the United States, but we wanted to bring our fans more content as well.
Gorgeous George: What does this have to do with me?
J.J. Dillon: As I was saying, I thought you and Brody had a nice confrontation last month; it would have made for solid television. Therefore, the next match is for the RAW Television Championship!
George’s smile turns from joy to fear as Bruiser Brody comes charging to the ring!
Bruiser Brody: HUSS~!
J.J. Dillon: RAW TV starts next week, fans.

He begins swinging the foreign object at the referee and George. In the end, the referee calls for the bell and proclaims that Gorgeous George is the first ever RAW Television Champion. RAW TV #1 Comcast Building, New York City, New York
The first episode of RAW TV on USA Network opens with Ted DiBiase walking out to the ring. He jaws at the fans and gloats at the power and rugged beauty of his loaded glove. In the ring, Manimal waits with little acknowledgement from the fans.
1) Ted DiBiase defeats Manimal via pinfall. DiBiase works Manimal to the mat and picks up a nearfall after a big fist drop. Not happy he isn't able to put him away as quickly as he wants, DiBiase lifts the big man and drops him with the Full Power Slam for the win. After the match, DiBiase takes the bone Manimal brought to the ring and strikes Manimal across the back of the neck. As medical stuff run down to the ring, DiBiase keeps hitting Manimal. Suddenly, familiar music sounds off and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan runs in for the save! DiBiase quickly leaves the ring.
Nikolai Volkoff leads the New Bolsheviks out to the ring. Alexis Smirnoff and Boris Zhkov hit the ring and immediately attack Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander.
2) The New Bolsheviks w/ Nikolai Volkoff defeat C&C Wrestle Factory via pinfall. Coleman tries to get some offense in but is overpowered by the Russian duo. As soon as Alexander enters the match, Smirnoff and Zhokov isolate him in their corner. After a slew of big moves, the Soviet Stomp and the Heart Punch, Alexander is pinned fairly easy.
In the ring, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig tries to silence the crowd.
Curt Hennig: I, “Mr. Perfect,” should be given a shot at RVD and the RAW World Championship. I beat that lucky, flippy, sad excuse of a champion just the other day with the Hennig Plex. Lou Thesz, though respected by me, should have to fight “Mr. Perfect” to see who the real number one contender is... especially... especially... after I beat the champ with ease!
3) “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig defeats Jake “The Milkman” Milliman via submission. Hennig picks up a nearfall with his rolling neck snap a minute into the match. Milliman fights off Hennig’s attempt to hit the Hennig Plex. In the end, “Mr. Perfect” pulls out a big lariat and applies the figure four leglock for the victory.

RAW TV #2 Comcast Building, New York City, New York
The show opens with a flashback Harley Race losing via disqualification against RVD and Lou Thesz...
Race is backstage. He’s angry. He smirks.
Harley Race: Some people ask me why I gave up two chances at becoming a champion. Simple... I know I’ll eventually be the Champion of RAW. I always become the champion wherever I go. I can beat Thesz or RVD any day of the week, any night, anywhere, you name it. I simply wanted to make a statement. The statement was made. Now, the hunt is on...
1) “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan defeats “Mean” Mike Mondo via pinfall. Mondo charges at “Hacksaw” and goes on the attack first. Duggan shakes off the threat and replies with the Flying Spear. After the match, “Hacksaw” calls for a microphone.
Jim Duggan: Hooo! DiBiase, what you did to Manimal last week didn’t go over well with me. You see, I’m not too big on bullies... in fact, I really dislike them. So, big shot, have your fun with that arrogant dude you’re fighting tonight. Maybe you’ll win that gold strap, maybe you won't. Just know this, I’m not finished with you yet. Heck, I haven’t even started! Hooo!
Duggan tosses the microphone to the referee... as DiBiase hits the ring and grabs Duggan’s 2x4. Mondo helps DiBiase beat down Duggan. DiBiase then strikes Duggan with the 2x4. As Mondo celebrates and tries to give a high five, DiBiase clobbers Mondo with the Loaded Glove.
2) Rock ‘n’ Roll Express defeat Pinkie Sanchez & Pinky via pinfall. Pinkie and Pinky use some underhanded attacks to get some early offense in; however, Gibson and Morton quickly come back and finish the match with the fan-favorite Double Dropkick, sending Pinkie crashing to the canvas. 1! 2! 3!
Gordon Solie, at the commentary station, shares some recent happenings.
Gordon Solie: Fans, RAW has officially received word that the “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and Randy Savage have left RAW indefinitely. Rogers is said to be headed to Japan, while “Macho Man” has failed to give a decision or explanation of his departure.
Solie shuffles his papers.
Gordon Solie: Lastly, I have received word that the Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, will get a shot at the RAW World Tag Team Champions, the Heavenly Bodies, at RAW IS WAR #4!
Solie clears his throat and proceeds.
Gordon Solie: Now, with that said, let’s get to our main event. Can DiBiase pick up a win over the RAW Television Champion? Who walks out with the gold?
RAW Television Championship —
3) Ted DiBiase defeats Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupré via submission. Ted DiBiase becomes the new RAW Television Champion. As soon as the bell sounds, Dupré is involved, allowing for the champion to get a nearfall with a small package. George returns with some smooth Rolling Hiplocks. DiBiase fights off and changes the pace of the match with a big neckbreaker drop. In the end, DiBiase misses with the Loaded Glove, hitting Dupré... this chaos allows DiBiase to get George down and into the Figure Four Leglock for the submission.

3) Harley Race defeats the Bravado Brothers via pinfall. Race, to prove he is the toughest competitor in RAW, takes on a tag team all by himself. Lancelot Bravado takes a back suplex and then the Piledriver. 1! 2! 3! Harlem Bravado comes in and feels the Vertical Suplex two times before the final touch, the Piledriver. 1! 2! 3!

The show fades out with Race staring into the camera...
