Hola Fellow Galaxians,
So I'm looking at 2074, 2079, 2084 and 2086, and wondering how folks have used them over the years. There are quite a few of them I like just because they're so much fun (Morpheus, Grogan, Mangus, Gladiator Wolf, etc.), and I was curious how those who have used them in fact use them.
I've thought about just combining '74, '79, and '86 together into one fed, but sometimes I can't get enthused about it.
Any thoughts one this and how you have gone about using these set?
Thanks,
Matt

The original idea seems for them to be worked into a Kronos environment, mixing them in with wrestlers from the various eras. Since Kronos and different timelines seems to be a main theme again, there's an option. Or if you're into breaking the rules of time travel, just hop the ones you like into any era you choose to play. Even mixing the three sets together it doesn't seem like there is a lot to work with as far as creating an ongoing storyline. You could always just throw the book out the window entirely and create your own story and timeline using whatever cards you like.

I got Mike Melesky’s early classics set to supplement them. Added quite a few characters and done some ageing of others. Then I was able to run all the history from 2074-86 and link to my current fed.
I also agree on Kronos. I run the odd card from Kronos and these guys can feature in the exhibition matches

Are those early classics even available any more? I have always wondered about them.

I had gotten as far as 2079 but by then 84-86 were already out of print so I never closed the gap GWF history wise. I just refer to them as "The Lost Years" in my timeline lol. I'd love to have the Early Classic wrestlers updated and in colour! Same for the CPC sets but I digress

Originally, I had gotten the Official sets when they first came out. I incorporated some of the playing cards into my fed (Blacklash & Bullwhip, Morpheus as Morpheus's son by the same name, Wolf as Wolf's son Lonewulf, etc). I had asked about Early Classics several years ago because I wanted to start from the very beginnning, but alas, unavailable. A fun idea is to do a sort of unofficial set PDF with contributions from anyone willing to tackle the whole thing. I don't think this would ever get completed (at least for FREE). There are PLENTY of bootlegs on this Board and Chris', and on the Krakan's Kombat Pit Board, so maybe the thing to do is find some boots you like and use those to fill in the EC gap. That's the way I'm going to go once I get my latest order in, since I re-ordered the Official Classics sets with my latest order! If anyone else has a solution, I'm all ears! Todd C WTIC

I have a few copies of original copies of the Classics Sets available (74-86). Just sold my last copy of Early Classics, though. Sorry.

With apologies to the country song, I was Kronos, when Kronos wasn't cool. And the Classics guys work very well with a Kronos-style fed. Extremely well, in fact. Omega, for example, is close to being the, if not THE, GOAT in my GWF. His Classics card has waged battle against Classics-era COTG'ers all the way up to 2136 (or whatever the current date is), and has performed very well. He's a fave, and the patriarch of what I call the Omega Family. Morpheus and KO Keller have also done well, as well as Mighty Grogan, Torin Caelum, and several others. The Classics cards may in fact be my favorite cards in all of the game. Just a great bunch of cards. So, I would highly recommend a) using them in a Kronos-style fed, and b) using them period! Have fun with 'em, just like Chad said in the "Have Fun with YOUR Fed" thread! Good topic, thanks for posting!

Todd C WTIC I mentioned it elsewhere, but for my own playthrough, the L-FCSE guys have been a blessing to pad out my EC-less Classics roster. Also, I got a bootleg set from Justin Case of characters from COTG Genesis which have been great, it includes an in-his-prime Screw. It also gave me some fun storylines with an aging Sampson Silver trying to keep up with the top guys and Dirge the Decapitator arriving from Aethra with his proto Gladiators to claim revenge on Silver and Screw.
