Final round: Tyler Black vs. Austin Aries and Kenny Omega vs. PCO. If Black wins he wins it all. A loss and an Omega win and Omega takes it. Black owns the tie-breaker.
Final round: WGTT vs. Matt Cardona/Brian Myers and the Kings of Wrestling vs. Roppongi Vice. Haas/Benjamin win they take the tournament. Hero/Claudio win and a loss by WGTT they win it all. KOW have the tie-breaker. The Briscoes also have 10 pts. but they lost to the KOW.

10. Chris Sabin 3 A spectacular final night of the round robin tournaments. The opening match of the night saw the frustration of losing come boiling out. The American Wolves turned on each other after losing to the Briscoes and finishing in last place of the Iron Team Tournament. The tag team division saw the Kings of Wrestling put away Roppongi Vice in decisive fashion. Matt Cardona & Brian Myers then gave the World's Greatest Tag Team one of the best matches of the entire Iron Team Tournament. A tremendous back and forth battle ended with Cardona scoring the fall on Charlie Haas with a flapjack. That result created a three-way tie for first place in the Iron Team Tournament. So who are the tag team champions? Each of the three teams beat one of the other team. Going by common opponents, five teams scored 8 points. The WGTT was 4-1 against those five teams while the other two finalists went 3-2. The championship committee did not want to award the tag team championship based on this outcome. The first tag team title holders will be decided at Wrestlemonster on PPV in a No DQ Triple Threat Elimination Match between the World's Greatest Tag Team, The Kings of Wrestling, and the Briscoes! The Iron Man Tournament did have a clear cut winner. Kenny Omega did what he had to do with a solid victory over PCO. Tyler Black withstood a good attempt by Austin Aries but three consecutive God's Last Gift put Aries down. Tyler Black becomes the first Shaka Zulu Leader of African Elite Wrestling! |

The Kings of Wrestling def. The Briscoes, The World's Greatest Tag Team Show notes: African Elite Wrestling's first ppv event did its job with amazing action! A worn done Young Bucks team lost the final fall in a Gauntlet Match to LAX. Kurt Angle appeared on the last Thunderstrike card and formed Team Angle with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. AJ Styles scored a huge win over the Olympic hero with a 450 splash. AEW is planning a Deathmatch championship and so a preview displayed the violence that division will bring. Jimmy Lloyd battered Orin Veidt before winning with a Tombstone. Davey Boy Smith Jr. debuted in excellent fashion with a great match against Walter. It was a battle of powerhouses and Walter kept hanging on and came back to win with a powerbomb. Bryan Danielson faced the debuting Chris Masters and had to whether the storm. Danielson won with the crossface chicken wing. Former tag team partners squared off against each other for the first time and Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards did not let up at all. Richards got the pin after a barrage of kicks. Adam Pearce and then Roderick Strong ran into the ring as the post-match fight broke up. The new AEW Shaka Zulu champion Tyler Black and Jon Moxley teamed up against Kenny Omega & Hangman Page from the Bullet Club. Page took a major beating but held on. Omega had some success against Black but Moxley got the win with Moxicity. The main event was a No D.Q. Triple Threat Elimination Match for the AEW tag team championship! The Iron Team Tournament ened with a three-way tie for first place and the executive committee chose to decide the titles in this fashion. Claudio Castagnoli eliminated the Briscoes with back to back Ricola Bombs. He then planted Shelton Benjamin with another Ricola Bomb for the three and the Kings of Wrestling are the first African tag team champions! |
