NOT A WRESTLER BUT WRESTLING RELATED  MID-ATLANTIC’S PEGGY LATHAN WAS FAR MORE THAN A FAN The Mid-Atlantic Gateway website labeled Peggy Lathan “Miss Mid-Atlantic Wrestling” and boy did it fit. Her sudden passing today, August 10, 2021, at age 69, There’s a lot of her work on the Mid-Atlantic Gateway website, and the photos of the wrestlers away from the ring are what make them special. In her Ric Flair gallery at the site, there are lots of photos of his robes, but it’s the backstage shots where he’s goofing around with someone’s he comfortable with that show a different side to The Nature Boy. Her photo galleries from fan fests, especially those in and around Charlotte, were must flip-throughs for me when she posted them on Facebook. Ditto her albums from the Cauliflower Alley Club reunions. The last few years have been tough on us all, and time after time, Peggy was posting about losing family and friends, well known and not. Her last posts were concern about her father, hospitalized with COVID, less than a year after losing his wife. Then Peggy tested positive for it too — and they both had their vaccinations. “Well when it rains it pours. Now I am in the hospital along with Dad. They said my labs were all out of whack. Don’t know how long I’ll be here yet,” she wrote on August 9. |

 More sad news wrestling Legend Dominic DeNucci has passed away at the age of 89. Known not only for his wrestling, but for training Mick Foley, Shane Douglas and others. |
