R..I.P. Captain Ed George(Tom Farhat) at 71 The son of the Original Shiek Ed Farhat Jr., the oldest son of “The Sheik,” died this morning, March 22, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. He was 71 years old. The news was shared this morning by Kari Farhat, the widow of Tom Farhat, the other son of Joyce and Ed Farhat. Farhat Jr. battled many health issues in recent years, including receiving dialysis treatments multiple times each week. The Sheik was not only a notorious villain around the globe, but he was also the promoter of the Detroit, Michigan, Big Time Wrestling promotion. Stepping into a very big shoes, Eddie began to train as a pro wrestler, and he debuted as Captain Ed George in the early 1977. He really only ever wrestled as the Captain throughout the Detroit territory. Fans did not know that he was The Sheik’s son. He worked a couple years before injuries got the best of him.

Tampa Bay Radio Legend Tedd Webb Dies at 72 Webb had a deep interest in pro wrestling and actually worked as a manager (under the name Dr. Tedd Webb) and as a referee in Tampa promotions in his younger days.

I reacted to his death while reading the news at work and my 20 something office mate said, "yeah, who's that?" -sigh-
