Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will have a kick off MMA PPV. Then do a mix of wrestling and MMA each standard card. The PPVs will probably switch between all-MMA, all-wrestling and mix, depending on the theme.
I have 2 GWF cards left in 2122, so I will start up POW in about a week or so.

It's a lot of fun. And the roster/storylines are different enough that it doesn't feel like "another GWF".

I plan on doing a mix between MMA and wrestling. I'm already planning a two night tournament called King of Cage. Night one will be all MMA bouts while night two will take place in cage matches. Also plan on having some wrestlers such as Brainstorm be totally against MMA saying he's not a thug he's a wrestler. I have to finish CPC 2121 still but I am looking forward to POW!

the only probelm I wopld ahve doign a mix fed(though I paln on converitng some of my crew to mma stats) is that you have to have gold set aside for both the MMa competitors and and the wrestlers as well. Also, would there be gold for each weight divison as well?

When I finally get POW (Hopefully soon) I plan on running it primarily as a wrestling fed with big fights being MMA.

Cool that you asked this TM as I've been thinking the same. Though this last year I really fell behind, but I'm almost done with GWF 2122 and need to start my aCe 2121 fed THEN i'll get to the POW.
I was planning on using the MMA as a special attraction on the card as I do 8 matches a card and maybe 2 at most would be MMA. I really know nothing about MMA and looking over the cards I'm not really sold on it, but I was definitely going to try it out. The biggest thing that, and I have played a match yet, it seems some of the 'Character' is out of the characters as all the moves don't have that Signature names or FINISHERS that always get me jazzed about the character.
Not to say the matches won't be fun to roll out, but just looking over the cards it comes off more Strat-O-Matic to me and less CotG. That could be a good thing as Strat-O definitley sucked up a lot of my time as a kid.

In a related note, I did play out my MMA tournaments this weekend, so POW has begun in my neck of the woods. I believe I will go with a wrestling card and MMA card each week, and you can be on one or the other, but not both. Then at PPVs there will be a mix of fighting styles. I'll see how it plays out.
My initial champs are: Super Heavyweight: Hanuman (upset a bunch of guys) Heavyweight: Sabateur Cruiserweight: Pendekar Women: Morgana

As for your concern quoted above, since you said earlier that you don't know much about MMA, but I can tell you that in the UFC and similar organizations, there aren't many fighters who have "named" moves like that. That's the feel that Turkish and I were going for, not that the MMA is "real" and the wrestling isn't, but that the MMA side of things is less focused on theatrics and more focused on combat. That's not to say that we won't give some moves names in the future, though. Anyway, no matter which way you decide to go with your fed, hope you enjoy it!

To follow up, I tried to incorproate character's moves in as best as I could. Some guys had moves that were really easy to do that with, like Euritar with Merciless. Others moves may not have translated as easy and recognizable, but they may be there. For example, I never gave anyone a "Running Spear" move, but if that was on their wrestling card, I gave them a double leg takedown, which is essentailly what a spear is.

I like that aspect of the MMA stuff. For the same reason I wouldn't want to see outside interference and stuff. The MMA rules, as you've made them, are very 'pure' and capture what real MMA is like.
Now, at least in my COTG cosmos, wrestling is real too....but with it comes the expected theatrics and showmanship....and having a split fed for POW allows the best of both worlds.
Even guys like Matinee Idol can parade around and act like a goof coming down to the ring for an MMA match, but it's all business when the bell rings.
