Andre is seriously close to winning the big one in my fed. I know some promoters wouldn’t let him near the title and only use him a special attraction, but since my fed is an 80s WWF inspired fed, and since he went for the championship, I’m rolling the dice and seeing what happens.
Now I know if he is able to win the title, he’s gonna hold it for a long while and, while there was some cards (Harley race, for example) who could probably score a win on him, I was thinking that if he went on a tear, a realistic thing to do is to start aging Andre.
As we all know at the end of his career he was not feeling the best, so I began wondering how I could simulate this decline without using bootlegs or other ‘non-official’ cards.
Then I thought: The Advanced Injury Chart.
I was thinking that when I want that decline to start, I’d click him into the Minor category. Then, depending on how quickly I wanted it to happen (6 months-year), click him into the Moderate, then to Severe. Looking at it, even with the Severe injury modifies, he’d still be a beast, but it might make him not so much a monster.
I supposed the ‘Coming out of Retirement’ chart might do the same, but since Andre was battling injuries, I thought this chart was a better fit.
Anyway, just some thoughts as I was playing tonight.

I say wait and see if he's on a long reign and decide to do that. He's been beaten a handful of times in my fed. I also let him go for the strap and he is a former world champion. I am pretty sure I have seen an older Andre card. Maybe that Wrestlemania IV set or might be another one out there.

I actually started my legends fed that way and wanted a long title reign by Andre to establish the top title. He was champion almost the first two years before getting picked off by King Kong Bundy of all people before winning it back and going for another year before Muraco got the belt from him.

That's a good way to handle it. The only people who've ever beaten Andre for me are Randy Savage, Antonio Inoki and an upset by Johnny Saint. I'd still try to screw him out of the title if you can, though.

I would agree with recommending using the Andre the Giant card from the Wrestlemania IV set if possible as a good card for an older version of Andre the Giant.

Great suggestions here. I would just add that for me stats are printed on the card but are not in stone. So using the injury chart or not you could adjust them to make him more beatable. Also there is the easy route. He is not able to defend in the 30 or 60 day time frame, either injured or off in Hollywood, and he's stripped of the title. That allows a fun way to crown a new champ while leaving the door open for his return as the "real" World Champion that never lost his belt.

I don't have the card in front of me, but isn't one of his moves a flying dropkick? When he started getting booked out of Capitol Wrestling, Daddy Vince told him to cut that stuff out. Giants don't leave their feet! Of course, by his heel days, he probably was physically incapable of that move.

Aside from moves like dropkick, the main problem with using the injury chart is it lowers his pw to -3. And honestly I think it should stay at -5, mostly because it keeps almost everyone from picking him up.

I'd go with the "Coming Out of Retirement Chart". As for his "dropkick", just pop an "(ag)" on it! He'd still do the move and fail, but against less "agile" opponents, at least it'd be a sight to see old Andre do the move! That'd POP the crowd, for sure! Just a suggestion. Anyway, if you want a "aged Andre" card, I'm sure you can create a great bootleg (I'd love to see it), perhaps HIGHLIGHT it on your Youtube stream sometime? Todd C WTIC

Which Ringside Companion has the coming out of retirement chart? I have the COTG and LOW ones but I don’t see it in either.
