Very cool that Candido put up such a great fight, but very pleased that RVD landed a Van Terminator for the win... The fun times continue!

Day 1
The Midnight Express a brief challenge by Manny Fernandez and Sam Houston to win with the Midnight Massacre. The lowest seed gave the top seed a bit of a scare as Houston actually covered Condrey after a knee lift. Condrey managed to tag out and Eaton dominated the youngster with a brief offense and surviving a knee lift by rolling to the floor and taking control before Condrey tagged back in and the Massacre finished things off as Manny could not make the save.
The Armstrongs bested The Kaiser Krushers following a Georgia Jawjacker on Fritz Von Goering. The Armstrongs dominated most of the match as Baron and Fritz could not sustain any offense for long before the Armstrongs would regain control. A Brad Sleeper was followed by a quick tag and Bob hit the big Jawjacker to score the three count.
The British Bulldogs held off a game Texas Hangmen with Tower of London on Psycho. Psycho and Killer only had one pin attempt on the Bulldogs but they gave the team fits as they did not want to stay down until a Tower of London proved too much in the end.
Miracle Violence Connection squashed Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Blackjack Mulligan following a quick Backdrop Driver on Duggan. Williams went for a whip into the turnbuckle but missed a spear into the corner. Williams dropped Duggan with a clothesline on the floor and then applied the Backdrop Driver. Gordy managed to cut off Mulligan and Williams scored the pin in under thirty seconds.
Randy Savage and Angelo Poffo squashed The Heavenly Bodies as Savage used the Flying Elbow Drop to quickly finish off Lane. A big piledriver put Lane down and then the big elbow finished things off as Angelo held Prichard at bay.
Dream Team squeaked by The Flying Redheads when Valentine forced Lyons to submit to the Figure Four Leglock. The Redheads had the Dream Team on the ropes for a while but Beefcake finally managed a counter and Valentine tagged in and locked on the Figure Four while Bastien was unable to make the save.
Terrible Turk and Great Game shocked The Rock and Roll Express when Gibson quickly submitted to a Turk Stranglehold. It only took one Gama Throw and a Stranglehold and while James Beard almost called for the bell, he ended up letting the match continue and Gibson quickly nodded a submission.
Frank Gotch and Dan Severn held off Red Army when Severn forced Ivan Koloff to submit to the Armbar. This was a well matched battle and both teams had chances to win but in the end, Gotch caught Koloff off the ropes and then Severn came in and applied the submission for the win.

Night 2
The Valiants managed to edge The Conways following the Double Clotheslineon Tiger Sr. This was back and forth. It looked like Sr might take it after his Lets Twist and Headbutt but a missed double Ax Handle allowed the Valiants to regain control. They hit a double buckle whip and then the Double Clothesline. Jimmy made the cover and Tiger Jr. simply could not react in time.
Stars and Stripes took down The Quebecers following a double dropkick on Jacques. The Quebecers nearly took it early but a missed Tower of Quebec turned things around as Patriot and Bagwell hit a Star Spangled Suplex and then eventually the double dropkick and Patriot covered for the three count.
The Briscos handled The Gilberts when Jerry forced Eddie down with the Figure Four Leglock. This was mostly the Briscos though Eddie did reverse a Jack pin attempt. The Briscos came back though and eventually Jerry locked in the Figure Four forcing Eddie's shoulders to the mat and referee Dick Woerlhe counted Gilbert down.
Double Axe Attack bested The Uptown Boys followind a Double Axe when referee Joey Marella was escorting Marty Jannetty out of the ring. Ric McCord hung tough for a long while but in the end, Curt hit a perfect standing dropkick for a cover. Marty made the save but the referee turned him out of the ring allowing the double team for the pin.
The Sheepherders quickly squashed The Dads when they hit the Double Gutbuster on Iron Mike DiBiase. Luke hit a few attacks and then tagged in Butch for the Gutbuster and made the cover for the victory.
The Killer Bees squeaked by The Long Riders following the Killer Dropkick on Scott Irwin. It looked like Bill had Blair pinned after the Float Kick but in the end, the Bees came back and hit the Killer Dropkick for the win.
The Road Warriors bested Ted DiBiase and King Kong Bundy with the Doomsday Device. Bundy and DiBiase gave the Roadies a tough battle but in the end Animal and Hawk took them down with Hawk scoring the three count.
Powers of Pain beat The Crusher and Jackie Fargo thanks to help from Mr. Fuji. This was a tight battle with Crusher putting the hurt to Barbarian before Fuji caused major chaos after Crusher locked on the Crusher Nelson. While Morgan Dollar sorted out what was happening, Warlord broke the hold and lifted up Crusher followed by Barbrian's Elevated Clothesline.

Day 3
The Midnight Express held off The Armstrongs when Eaton pinned Brad Armstrong with a spinning neckbreaker. The Armstrongs dominated the match taking it to Condrey in various ways but Brad went to the well one too many times and Condrey slammed him off the top rope and followed with a brainbuster. Eaton tagged in and hit a quick neckbreaker stunning Brad long enough for the pin.
The Road Warriors bested Powers of Pain following the Doomsday Device on Barbarian. The Powers of Pain came very close to winning the match with the Power Headbutt but eventually the Roadies came roaring back and battered Barbarian down until Animal lifted him up for Hawk's Doomsday Device. Animal then covered for the victory.
Frank Gotch and Dan Severn edged Great Gama and Terrible Turk when Severn forced Turk to submit to the Armbar. Gama nearly had Gotch down twice with the Gama Throw but he tagged out after escaping a Gotch Toehold. Turk made a good run even clamping on his Stranglehold but Severn eventually grabbed control and locked on the Armbar forcing a tap.
The Valiants edged Stars and Stripes when Jimmy dropped a Super Elbow on Patriot after Patriot had hit the Uncle Slam on Johnny Valiant. It looked like Stars and Stries had the match all won but a distraction by their manager JJ Dillon allowed Jimmy to drop his elbow on top of Patriot and then rolled his brother on top. Referee Bill Alfonso saw Johnny making the cover and counted three.

A quick bit off for a special show I had hoped to run for Memorial Day so
Memorial Day Mayhem
Ranger Ross and Stars and Stripes battled The Red Army (Smirnoff/Volkoff/Zhukov) to a double disqualification when the match broke down with both teams brawling. Ross and SNS worked together so well and looked like they had Smirnoff defeated with a Ross cross body block hitting. The Bolsheviks both attacked Ross and that put Stars and Stripes in the ring. The referee could not get the teams to stop fighting so finaly called for the bell as the two teams brawled to the back.
Jack Brisco outwrestled Stan Hansen pinning him after a series of Rolling Reverse Cradles. Despite the size difference, Jack never flinched and he battered down the big man. Hansen took a desperate shot trying a flying elbow but Jack took him down and from there used the Figure Four and various Cradles to finally put down the Texan.
Bob Armstrong bested The Iron Sheik via disqualification when Sheik tired of the beating he had received clocked Bob with a wooden chair. Armstrong dominated the match but when the action spilled out late Sheik grabbed a chair and hit Armstrong. The referee called for the bell as the Sheik attempted to further his assault with another chair shot. Bob however managed to kick it back in the face of Iron Sheik. He then clamped on a sleeper. Sheik passed out in the hold as familiar music hit. Brutus Beefcake strutted to the ring holding a razor. While Sheik was in dreamland, Beefcake shaved off his mustache. The two then took turns slapping Sheiky baby awake. Sheik went into a rage when he noticed his mustache gone but with the odds not in his favor he retreated to the back throwing out threats instead.
The Quebecers finally put away The Texas Twisters after the Tower of London on Casey. It took them quite a while as Casey gave Rougeau a beating but finally they managed to hit enough double team moves to finally put down Casey while Pierre slammed Houston to the floor to stop any save. (Sigh, the Quebecers cards are so weak)
Dan Severn overcame Terrible Turk in a modified Vintage Rules match with a belly to belly throw. This was a solid hard hitting match with both wrestlers taking it to each other but Severn's mastery of throws proved to be a bit more than Turk's in this match as the belly to belly throw was too much in the end.
In a Russian Chain Match Ivan Koloff won with the Russian Sickle over Hacksaw Jim Duggan. This was a bloody war as both men had multiple chances to win and both ended up bleeding. Late in the match, Duggan went to the top to smash Koloff with a chain but Ivan as the master of the match countered and then wrapped his arm up with the chain before delivering the Russian Sickle for the pin.
In a Steel Cage Match The Fantastics take down The Sheepherders with a Fantastic Cradle on Luke Williams. This went back and forth as well and either team could have won but finally Fulton cradled Williams and Miller could not react in time.
Frank Gotch vs Great Gama in a 2 out of 3 Falls match for the Pioneer Championship. In the first fall an injured Gama was judged using bad sportsmanship outside the ring and disqualified. In the second fall Gotch avoided a spirited comeback by Gama to win with the Gotch Toe Hold after using his crossface to soften Gama up. The first match was a war with blood spilled as neither wanted to stay down and only the referee's distaste for Gama's actions ended that fall. The second fall was shorter but action packed as well. Gotch took advantage of Gama's fatigue and nearly won with the crossface then clamped on the Toehold. Gama was too tired and his shoulders were counted down.

Hey TTX! Very much enjoyed catching up here bro. (Always a big fan of you're style). Topped off by that last 2 of 3 fall bout with Frank Gotch. I'm gonna have to pick up that most recent Legends expansion set, these Vintage Charts sound too intriguing. Rock On!

Independence Bash
Ranger Ross bested Lou Albano by disqualification when Albano was disqualified for loading his black glove and using it on Ross. This went back and forth and either guy could have won but Albano went cheap and referee Dick Woerlhe had enough and called for the bell.
The Bolsheviks bested Stars and Stripes when Volkoff caught Bagwell in the Russian Bear Hug for the submission. Patriot looked good but Bagwell made a mistake against Zhukov and then Volkoff continued the hurt with a bear hug. Bagwell submitted before Patriot could do anything to stop it.
Great Gama beat George Hackenschmidt via countout when Hackenschmidt missed a charge and hit his head on the ringside floor dazing him long enough for the referee to count him out. Gama dominated most of the match but Hackenschmidt would not stay down. It looked like Hack had taken control but he lost his temper and charged and Gama avoided it. Hack was out of it as the referee called for the bell.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan held off Baron Von Raschke with the Flying Spear. It looked early that Baron might grab the win but he never could keep Duggan down. Duggan nearly got disqualified on the floor but in the end, Duggan hit the Spear for the win.
The Briscos held off The Vachons with the Figure Four Leglock by Jack on Mad Dog. This could have gone either way and Butcher nearly had Jack but eventually Jack came back to finish off Mad Dog.
"British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith bested "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase via disqualification when DiBiase used a chair on Smith on the floor. Davey Boy dominated nearly the entire match but when Ted grabbed control, he threw Smith to the floor and smashed him with a chair. Referee Joey Marella was forced to call for the bell.
Exotic Adrian Street held off a game Joe Blanchard with the Crucifix. This was a close battle as Blanchard nearly pulled the upset several times before Street made a comeback and hit the Crucifix for the win.
Pioneer Champion Frank Gotch bested Terrible Turk via countout when they both crashed out of the ring but Gotch got back in just in time. This was quite the battle with Gotch dominating but Turk managed to get out of the ring. Gotch went after him and it went wild out there. Gotch managed to roll back inside while Turk was just out of it. Gotch retained his Pioneer Title.
