Sounds fair. I believe Larry Swank came up with the system before online became a thing. Not sure if this is totally his now or just based on his idea? There was a thread on the old fan forums about this, how to score matches (five stars, etc. & ranking wrestler's), but that's hard to find. Interesting topic. Invoking BDS' name earns you a DEMERIT, young man! How dare you?! Okay kidding! BTW, he no longer looks like KEVIN SMITH, haha! That's this guy from "Clerks": ...NOT the late actor that portrayed Aries on "Xena": Todd C WTIC

Only stating who started the rankings and match ratings years ago. Not making trouble.

Some tidbits from the other board. Of course, this is all almost 15 years old so some of this stuff may not be working anymore. I may do a deeper dive later. The formula is probably too complex for a spreadsheet, and it requires a lot of info that only exists in the COTG universe within the bowels of the Stat Tracker. It's basically a points-ranking system that degrades the points over time and has modifiers for things like title wins, match prestige, and wrestler ability built into the system. Also, for a fed made up of "bootlegs" does how the match end factor into the rankings? For instance, Vengeance using his "LETHAL CATAPULT" which ends in a COUNT OUT count for less than say Pollux's PIN USING ROPES? because it uses "PIN"
LETHAL CATAPULT would still score normal points for the win. It only factors in countout wins if the finish actually uses the phrase "countout" in it. Same thing for disqualifications.
So, if you wanted LETHAL CATAPULT to count as a countout win and be worth fewer points, you'd need to record it as "countout via LETHAL CATAPULT" or something along those lines, so the system saw the countout. Hope that helps! * NEW: Title prestige has been added. The more prestigious a title is, the more the title victory will matter to the ranking personalities. There are four levels of prestige: Low, Medium, High, and Epic. You won't see any rankings increase because of a belt's prestige from where they are now, but you will see them go down. Standard belt prestige has been assigned as follows:
Galaxian Championship - Epic Galaxian Tag Team Championship - High GWF Interplanetary Championship - Medium GWF Women's Championship - Low GWF Heavy Metal Championship - Low GWF Cruiserweight Championship - Low aCe Championship - High aCe Tag Team Championship - High aCe Battlefield Title - High
All custom created belts have defaulted to Low. If you want a belt that you have previously created to be more prestigous than that, you will need to update it yourself using the modification tools in the system.
The rankings already differentiate between a DQ win ... assuming you write the fall out as DQ, disqualification, or Disqualiification.
I typed in 'disqualification' and 'DQ' and all that and you've obviously changed the points (thank you)...but now ALL of my rankings points have increased by 100. For example, my #1 ranked guy had 31 points, now he has 131. My dq winner should have 3.5 points but he has 103.5 points. The dq loser should have -4 points, but he has 96 points...and so on, and so on.
No, that's intentional. The bootleg wrestlers were at a GROSS disadvantage compared to official wrestlers, and the extra 100 points is a reflection of that. All is well.
