I am back home now from today's shows in downtown Las Vegas.
A quick recap of today's shows before getting some much needed sleep.
The venue was downtown just off of Fremont St. I have never been there before and I think it was the first wrestling event there. Everybody had to sign a COVID-19 waiver upon entry. Overall it was a decent venue with an outside courtyard where you can buy drinks and watch the matches from the outside, although they won't allow you take the drinks inside to your seat for some reason (the venue allows death matches where the wrestlers can smash light tubes over each other's heads but the venue does not allow alcohol except in the courtyard, I thought that was weird but it was fine with me because since New Years I don't drink much alcohol anyway.)
At the GCW merch table, I bought a Raiders-styled GCW shirt GCW had for their Las Vegas debut and both packs of the new GCW cards that got released last month at The Collective in Tampa. At the outside merch tables, there were a few wrestlers selling merch and I got my 1 Called Manders card autographed while also giving him a stack of copies of his recently released card.
quick results from Jamie Iovine's show:
Tito Escondido defeated Jimmy Lloyd
Keita Murray defeated Jamie Iovine
The Second Gear Crew's Mance Warner and Matthew Justice defeated the RockNES Monsters.
2 Cold Scorpio defeated Eric Watts
Adrian Quest defeated Jordan Oliver
Bussy (Allie Kat and Effy) defeated 1 Called Manders and Heidi Howitzer when Kat tapped out Howitzer
Royce Isaacs defeated Chris Dickinson
My favorite matches were Second Gear Crew vs RockNES Monsters, Quest vs Oliver, and Isaacs vs Dickinson. I was a little surprised by Quest defeating Oliver and Isaacs defeating Dicksinson but Iovine was booking the show and he worked with both of them at CWFH.
There was about a 2 hour break between shows so I walked over to Fremont Street and visited the new Circa casinowhich opened last December. It was my first time there, it is nice and they have perhaps the most impressive sports book in Las Vegas, but the burger I ate there for dinner was not very good.
GCW's Draft Day results:
Jack Cartwheel defeated Jimmy Lloyd. As I said yesterday in my brief FSW show recap, Cartwheel is extremely impressive.
Chris Dickinson defeated Tito Escondido. Afterward, Dickinson put Escondido over only for Escondido to attack Dickinson.
Jordan Oliver defeated Ricky Marvin via the CLOUT CUTTER.
Lio Rush defeated Starboy Charlie. Starboy Charlie is someone whose matches I have been watching the past two years. He is currently a high school senior with a bright future in professional wrestling. At the Collective in Indianapolis, he and Blake Christian had one of the best matches I saw of the 10 shows I attended that weekend and he defeated Jimmy Lloyd in the main event of Jimmy Lloyd's show at the Collective last month in Tampa. Starboy Charlie is someone we defintley need to get signed for the game.
The Second Gear Crew's Mance Warner, Matthew Justice, and 1 Called Manders defeated Eli Everfly and The Unguided This match was mostly a brawl that spilled outside into the courtyard. I barely got out of the way in time before someone threw Eli Everfly into my seating area. Out in the courtyard, Matthew Justice did his BALCONY DIVE from the second story of the steps.
SHLAK defeated Juicy Finau
Effy defeated Dark Sheik
Joey Janela defeated Allie Kat Allie Kat got really hurt in this match and afterward Brett Lauderdale and others checked on her in the ring before Effy and others picked her up and carried her to the back. Hopefully she is OK.
GCW World Champion Nick Gage defeated AJ Gray in a death match. AJ Gray was the one who ended Gage's previous reign as GCW World Champion before getting screwed out of the title by RSP and here he was finally getting an opportunity to regain the title. It was a good death match, but I turned away when the light tubes in the corner of the ring nearest me were being used as I was really close to the ring and I want to protect my eyes (I could feel broken glass flying past my head at one point.) Afterward, as I have been predicting including here on this board, Moxley appeared and brawled with Gage. I don't consider that a major prediction based on how Spring Break ended and due to Moxley living here in Las Vegas, but there some people in the crowd very shocked to see him. Moxley and Gage brawled through the room with the ring and then into the courtyard and then briefly into the street outside. The crowd followed them outside where the show ended and then afterward they would not let us back into the venue (that is a good way to clear a venue out if you have a curfew, but I am not saying that was the case here.)
The show was packed and incredible, the best show I have seen here in Las Vegas in years. The fans around me were mostly from out of town (some were GCW fans from the East Coast, some were from California, some were from elsewhere- for example a guy sitting near me for the start of the first show was a Defy fan from Seattle.)
I hope GCW returns to Las Vegas soon. The next shows I am attending are the 5 shows during TOS weekend in 3 weekends in Atlantic City.

Man, I just seen a YouTube posting from GCW too. I'm sure it's a pre show or something, but on my list to see!
Sounds like a good show, jealous for sure!
