Not sure I'm in agreement with some of the "value picks" and "reaches" as much of the rationale is based upon strength of card stats and not necessarily where they would fit in a regional promotion. For example, if I hope to build the baby side of my fed around Jack Brisco, Lou Thesz has little value to me. That said, Lou was in the running for my top pick if Stu had taken Brisco #1. And if you want someone, you can't necessarily wait to pick him because you think no one else will (as noted by by bleeped f-bomb when Stu picked Rod Fenton). I'm sure we'll discuss the analysis on an upcoming UT. As someone who probably would have picked Vampiro within the first two or three rounds, I can totally hold with this statement. Lol, it’s funny how different people would pick a draft. Myself...I’d pick Millikan, Kenny Jay, Virgil, George South all over Vampiro. Looking at the color releases, probably the only pick I’d use under him would be Bruiser Costa. Just different tastes for every legends fan. Lol

Great and fun episode. I liked the talk about the draft. Promoter spotlight next week should be interesting too.

Too true. I mean you have to build every level. As tempting as it is to make a fed of all stars, a lot of my favorite guys are the mid and lower carders. Plus, you can never go wrong with a little Nacho Mania.

So far I have heard the first half while driving to work and back today.
a few thoughts from what I have heard so far:
yeah, this past weekend I showed Jordan Oliver his card art and he replied on Email that he loved it, he is a great addition to the Indy game
regarding the Danny Spivey/Hulk Hogan comparison, the first show I ever attended was in February 1986 when I was in 6th grade and Danny Spivey was on that show. I remember there were some adults in the crowd who got him confused with Hogan, I think due to the blond hair and the yellow gear
If the Road Warriors are not available, I think the Rock N' Roll Express would have been the first LOW tag team drafted for me too. They are my current World Tag Team Champions and have been for the past 10 months of game time and they have been back to back finalists in my annual 64 tag team MLW Memorial Cup. I think my personal first overall choice would have been either Randy Savage (my personal favorite wrestler in LOW) or Vader since he has been my current EAWA Champion for the past 8 months of game time.
I am looking forward to hearing the second half while at the gym tonight!

Tim - I totally get this and it's one of the reasons I tried to make sure we gave some attention to the notion that you guys are building a promotion to book, not a fantasy football team to win a season. That said, it was also fun to look at it with PWI eyes and ask how some of these guys were around for so long. Frankly, I could've gone on for hours about the ways you guys built your promotions and that it's clear there are some top tier names to main event in each one but also plenty of undercard folks to develop and, naturally, some guys that will surprise from time to time. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the roster!

Critiquing a draft done by these four is no easy task I'm sure, as they are four of the best wrestling minds, historians and bookers there are. Their feds, booking style and story telling are second to none and a pleasure to read. With that said, I think you did a fantastic job Sam, looking at it with, as you said PWI eyes. Great show Tigersamurai, keep up the SOLID work.

My only regret is the original Sheik is not in color, so TDalton could book another reign of Terror. 😉
His crazy Frank Gotch story line will live forever in the annals of proboards history.

A fun review of the draft! As Tim mentioned, since we're not competing against each other in head to head matches, there's a premium in filling out all tiers of the card. Some midcard guys spoke to me more than upper level guys, so I drafted them sooner.
We will probably analyze the analysis on Uncharted Territory next week, plus discuss other aspects of our promotions!
I'm sorry to hear Future Shock is being delayed, but like Rob mentioned, the extra time will only help Mike's creative juices cook up even more awesome stories!
