I think one of two things is happening here. 1 - Galacticon doesn't have a HOME anymore and goes to places people can't or won't, I understand not wanting to go to Philly. 😉 There's no nostalgia anymore, I realize it CAN'T be like it was in the 90s... sadly... or can it..? 2 - Virtual is killing the in-person con. I realize it allows people to attend that can't and that's is important for the game and it's growth. People that would NORMALLY attend are now doing it virtually and that's what hurts the in-person attendance. There's a third option, I believe it's a combination of both. I guess what I'm asking is should in-person Galacticon even continue? Me, personally I'm looking forward to the road trip with my son and the personal interaction with fellow promoters/FRIENDS and the complete and utter destruction of DKII...! It's a weird thing I know this year I wanted to do something with my wife since last real vacation we took was when we got married in Mexico the October before Covid lol. I'm really bummed I'm not going in person especially since I'm a big fan of MLW and have always wanted go to Philly. But going off your #1 point, I want to be able to support your push here for a HOME location and would suggest something like Jamestown but I only made it to three cons when I lived less than 2 hours away (one of my top five regrets in my life is not going to more cons). I really like the virtual cons because I know I wont be there all weekend but with the schedule I can see what events I really wanna go to and plan around but I also agree with KB. One of the reasons the wife and I got so addicted to Dungeons & Dragons is going to and playing different conventions with our characters. The three cons I have been to in person were a blast. I'm hoping I can go to the chicago one in person but who knows what will happen between then and now. In conclusion, I think in person should continue but perhaps a HOME might be a good thing.

Who's going in person..? All I've counted is.. Matthew and myself Sam Luptak Jim Steele Ty States Vegas Tournament Master Mike M. and .... sadly... Pete Beck.. 😉 Besides this list I do know Mike's brother Kevin will be there. Plus we have 6 other tickets bought from people not on your list, including a few first timers. I do know Kirk is coming and has not bought a ticket yet. Smoke I never hear from until like the day before and he usually finds a way to make it. I may reach out though. In the end I think we will have a count somewhere in the 20's. I do think a few things are keeping folks away this year, like proximity to the TNT HOF weekend, which many in the midwest are going to. I think next year we will have a higher number of attendees for sure, by having a date and location announced earlier, less covid impact, etc.

If the Hall of Fame sets continue (and I hope they do), I think a GalactiCon/Hall of Fame all-inclusive weekend is a no-brainer.

Its certainly possible to do so, having gaming content early Saturday and on Sunday in Waterloo. I think those times dont usually have much going officially.

For me, two factors.....one I wanted to go to the Hall of Fame and going cross country doesn't work for me like it would Zeke. I like to travel and it is fun but it is also not easy staying on the road for 10 days attending both Galacticon and the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame weekend. It costs alot and there is a tremendous amount of planning involved, but it is definitely worth it. If I can do both next year, I think I might go to Wisconsin for the first time between the two events. I almost went to Nashville this year so that will probably be on my lists of stops too for the years I can attend both Galacticon and the Hall of Fame. Vegas, you would of course be welcome to stay at my place in WI for as little or as much as needed. I live almost smack in the center - 2 hours from Madison, 3 from Milwaukee, 90 minutes from Green Bay, 3.5 hours from Minneapolis. Shoot, we could even carpool to Iowa next year.

Then there is a reason for the place we hold it. Also, come to Waterloo for the Hall, get the added bonus of GCON thrown in!

That is very generous of you, I will have to see how things play out next year. If I go to Wisconsin, I have to see The Crusher statue, Miller Park, and Lambeau Field. And although I have cut back my beer drinking alot, I do make exceptions on vacation (I had some beers in Atlantic City last month for example and I plan to have some beers when I am on my 10-day trip this month) and I would have to try some of those Milwaukee beers I hear so much about.
