I was looking at the 2124 handbook, and it mentioned that The Overmaster took over because fans felt felt that the team had fallen into second tier status. Now, thirteen years have past since the takeover and 2137 is on the horizon. Now, in the 2136 handbook, the Gladiators are fighting the Animen of Andromeda and they aren't part of any major plots that could shake things up. So, this begs the question. Should something drastic be done about the Gladiators going into 2137, if so what?
In my opinion, I think there may need to be a new leader to the Gladiator team, since 13 years as leader has to be wearing down the Overmaster, and he's clearly not focusing on the same goals he had going into 2124. They also have some Aethrans that could be in their primes right now like Havoc, Rush, Rage, or Turmoil, but we'll might not get to see them again, due to the Overmaster's regime.
Come to think about it, I think the Overmaster has done more damage to the Gladiator team than any other leader.

yeah, the Gladiators have been spinning their wheels for a while and it's about time for them to try and move back to the top and I think they can do it best without OverMaster.

I think I hinted at something like this in a couple of my other threads.
In my fed the Gladiators feel in decline and I'm in 2117. I started reading the handbooks that I havent played before and they dont seem to be as high up on the totem pole anymore. Usually a GOP gladiator guy is only the leader for like 8 years before he gets replaced. Spike, Vengeance, Thunder and Disaster all get retired while many of us still consider them wrecking machines cause the Aethrans dont want a non elite guy I'm their leading the way. Overmaster just seems to lack and distinct personality and kind of looks like the boss from Mortal Kombat. Doesnt seem like someone who should have led this long and kind of felt like a transitional leader to get them through a spell.
I could be wrong but the vibe I've gotten.

AOM has the most generic personality....he's just a big bad leader guy....no nuances like Spike or Vengeance had.

The Overmaster is massive, let’s not get it twisted, but at the same time, he’s just bland. His takeover bid in 2124 was interesting (albeit it cut Rage’s career short), but 2131 onward just saw the Overmaster get complacent.
At this rate, a new leader and bringing the fight to Castilex should be on Aethra’s priority list.

I probably should hold my comments as I am not to Overmaster and really the dice decide not me lol.
My dice LOVED Vengeance and not so much Disaster (though bringing in his update mid year was HUGE)

I had the Overmaster ship out in 2135 and took out the Aethrans to get a clean slate for awhile.
Leading for 13 game years is way too much lol

I'm probably the only guy that actually likes AOM and I'd give him personality and he's always done fairly well in my play. I guess that's why this game is fun, because it's so different for everyone.

Oh he's done really well for me...I've just tired of him.
