Ill place this topic here but its a broad topic covering champions/legends/real life but what do you guys think of triple threat or three way dance matches?
Personally I was never a fan, it doesn't benefit the champion and usually follows the formula of one person gets taken out and two fight for awhile. It also seems to happen a LOT now. That being said, in my fed I have found to really love the triple threat match. I've done it very sparingly and each time has been really fun and exciting. Its a great once and awhile thing but not sure I would like it if every PPV had one.

I liked Triple Threat matches when I was young but I don't care for them now. If a title is on the line, I hate that a champion can lose a belt without being pinned. It's been at least ten years since I've run one in my feds.

99% of the time my matches are a Three Way Dance, elimination. So the champ can't lose the title without being defeated. It's the norm now, an easy way out to have the title change hands and the champ not be the one beaten.

I am all for multi-person matches if they are elimination rules. As soon as you make it one fall so that you can beat someone without actually beating someone, it goes from being a good match to being a lazy booking tool.

Its fine with elimination rules for me. Without that,I never ever would use it for a championship match. Only reason to do would be to set up a storyline. Champion gets cheated and goes after the Wrestler(s) that were involved

Always enjoyed the Tirion Triple Threat Match rules. Usually a lot of fun and it’s great at both continuing and setting up new storylines. For example, when your champion loses their belt but they weren’t the ones pinned. In my fed they’re great for playing around with a character’s personalities. Some guys will have more honor and always go after the champ (when a player can choose who to attack) regardless of the PIN token count, while others will always go after the guy most in danger of losing, just to win the match.
Anytime a choice presents itself during game play, that’s a key opportunity to tap into a wrestlers personality.
I’m sure some promoters play the game the same way and make the same choices every time strictly based on what the “right thing to do” is game play wise - but if you prefer to make decisions based on how a character’s personality is written, matches like these are great fun.

Hate them for a variety of reasons, the most salient being that nobody has ever figured out how to book three people fighting each other simultaneously and continuously throughout the match.

I think it actually is a great way to build a new feud. An automatic rematch if the Champ loses the belt but does not eat the pin. That is why I kinda like it.

I see a Triple Threat as a necessary evil. Necessary, because sometimes there is more than one worthy contender for a title. Evil, because it's a safe way to dethrone a champion when they are not the one pinning or submitting. When a champion loses a title without being the one who is defeated, it does cast some tarnish on a title belt. That is the negative. But overall, I approve of and enjoy these matches. To get the build up right for a title match is a good challenge. But to have three individuals, and to be able to see all three as a credible threat, that's cooking with gas!
