I just read they announced a Manny Pacquio fight on that Saturday so it may mess up some plans to have Summerslam there after all. I'm surprised boxing is still so popular in Vegas. I am not surprised. It is Vegas. Outside of Vegas it still being popular is a bit surprising.

Summerslam today was officially confirmed for Saturday August 21st the same night as the boxing match at MGM Grand.
The location will be officially announced on Saturday June 5th but it continues to look like Las Vegas will be the location despite the boxing match taking place at the same time. For example the WWE today did release the following dates and locations for its Summer tour:
* Friday, August 20: SmackDown from the Phoenix Suns Arena in Phoenix, AZ
* Saturday, August 21: SummerSlam
* Sunday, August 22: Supershow from the Ball Arena in Denver, CO
What is North of Phoenix (where the WWE will be the night before Summerslam for Smackdown) and South of Denver (where the WWE has a live event the day after Summerslam?) Las Vegas and the brand new Raiders stadium.

If that all happens then it will be the biggest wrestling weekend in Las Vegas since I moved here 22 years ago.

Welp, it looks like Summerslam is going to be in Tampa and not Vegas.
Never mind. I misheard the announcement on the local news. They are just coming to Tampa this summer. Not for Summerslam. My bad.
