Mornin TTX me bro! Truly a blast catching up on all things ETW. Frank Gotch has been rockin the house lately, for a long while actually. Fantastic main event between him and Thesz. Was digging A.J. Styles as World Champ for sure. The Midnights reign supreme. All this and a side order of Andy Kaufman - who could ask for more? Great stuff my friend.

In a captain's match to determine who had the advantage in the War Games battle, AJ Styles bested Vampiro with the Styles Clash. This was epic as Styles looked like he was going to win in a squash but Vampiro battled back and nearly sealed it with a Nail in the Coffin only for Styles to will his way back into the match and finally finish things with the Styles Clash.
Val Venis bested The Spoiler with the Money Shot. Venis dominated most of the match. Spoiler made a comeback but when he attempted a high risk move Venis caught him and slammed him down before hitting the Money Shot to score the three count.
The Midnight Express and The Fantastics battled to a double disqualification when the Rock and Roll Express attacked both teams. It looked like the Fantastics were going to be the new tag champs when Fulton had Eaton caught in the Fantastic Cradle but suddenly Ricky and Robert stormed the ring and the referee was forced to call for the bell.
Big Van Vader crushed Frank Gotch with the Moonsault to win the World Title. It was time, Vader Time. Even under vintage rules, Gotch just could not stop the beast who managed a turnbuckle reversal with a waistlock throw and then hit all three of his finishers in a row to win the title.

Not surprised that Vader is getting his time at the top... But, I will be equally unsurprised when Gotch inevitably reclaims the gold.
Really enjoyed seeing RnR Express in the spoiler role... And of course, I'm totally digging this long running program between Styles and Vampiro... Simply PHENOMENAL!

Thanks as always. War Games coming this weekend (and going to be really fun doing it online but I have an idea how I want to do it though obviously to runthe match I have to have everyone picked from the start) This will finish that program but I already have ideas for both....and lets just say a reunion is not impossible either.
More fun to come even as I plan on relaunching my regular LOW fed soon.

War Games will have to wait a bit as I need more time to play it out
The Spoiler knocked off Davey Boy Smith via countout after smashing him on the floor with a loaded kneepad. This went back and forth and either could have won it but eventually Spoiler tossed Davey Boy on to the floor, loaded up his knee pad and then nailed Davey Boy with a big knee lift that left him down for the count.
Jerry Brisco put away Shawn Daivari with the Oklahoma Side Roll. Daivari dominated most of the early match but just never hit anything that put Jerry in danger. Jerry finally came back catching Daivari off the ropes with a high back body drop and clamped on the Figure Four Leglock. Daivari escaped but a short time later, Jerry locked in another. Shawn reached the ropes but Jerry kept it going with a lateral guillotine and then the Side Roll. Daivari almost escaped but the referee counted three just before the shoulder came up.
The Heenan Family put down The Texas Twisters when an angry Ray Stevens drilled Scott Casey with a Crippling Piledriver. Bockwinkel toyed with Sam Houston and then Stevens came in. Houston survived a couple attacks and tagged out to Casey who surprised Stevens with a power slam for a near three. Stevens took to the floor and popped Casey hard before hitting two Crippling Piledrivers to put him away.
ETW Women's Champion Mildred Burke bested Jazz by disqualification when Jazz lost her temper and smashed Burke on the floor with a steel chair. Burke had dominated most of the match but Jazz had made a nice comeback. However, when Jazz threw Burke to the floor she gave into temptation when she saw the chair and blasted Burke with it. The referee called for the bell and an angry Jazz realized she had lost her chance to win the title.

Yikes! Brutal win for The Spoiler... It would be kinda cool if he tracked down a partner to take on both Bulldogs in tag team action... And I like Mildred Burke as women's champion... I'm getting ready to bring her back in my Legends fed and hoping she gets to have a memorable run with the belt at some point.
War Games will be worth the wait... I have NO DOUBT!

Evenin TTX me bro! I second Pariah's emotion about War Games. Looking forward to Frank Gotch hopefully getting a rematch against Big Van Vader. That must have been a tough match for you to roll out in so far as who to root for. Hope all be groovy by you and IB!

Always tough to match my favorites (them and Savage being my top 3) but it was fun too. War Games I'm hoping to have today. Little rocky but things will improve I'm sure around here.

I hear ya - Thesz, Gotch & Backlund for me. Sounds good all around my brother. May the rocks turn into rolls for all of us!

True Wrestling (Frank Gotch and Lou Thesz) bested Heenan Family (Nick Bockwinkel and Mad Dog Vachon) in a vintage rules match when Thesz put away Mad Dog with the Thesz Press. Gotch had some issues with both men but he managed to reverse and knocked Mad Dog silly with a head butt and then Thesz took no prisoners working Mad Dog over before a quick Thesz Press put him away.
Bob Backlund avoided an upset from Baron Von Raschke finally putting him away with a delayed vertical suplex. It looked like Backlund might be upset with the Brain Claw but he just survived and eventually caught Baron in a mistake drilling him with a big forearm smash and then suplexing him for the pin.
Evan Lewis forced Koko B. Ware to submit to a grapevine transitioned to a shoulder lock. Ware had a couple shots including a cover after a missed turnbuckle charge but despite Lewis never coming close to the Stranglehold, he dominated Koko and clamped on an unusual submission for the win.
In the Main Event War Games Battle, The Japan Alliance edged Covenant of Blood when Gordy put away Piper after a pair of Power Bombs. There was blood aplenty here and most everyone was exhausted when Gordy finally put down Piper (who had no way of kicking out and all pin saves were exhausted) after hitting the bomb twice. After the match, Styles and Vampiro embraced and stomped the heck out of everyone in the ring before exiting.
