 MONTH: APRIL / YEAR: 1"Hello everyone and welcome to EVOLVE 4, I am Lenny Leonard and we are here at the 1904 Music Hall in Jacksonville, Florida where we are outside on a nice night and without further ado, lets get the action started..." - Lenny Leonard "Ladies and Gentlemen our opening contest is a tag team match, which is for the OPEN THE UNITED GATE CHAMPIONSHIP and it's set for one fall (the crowd yells out ONE FALL!), please welcome to the ring..." - Joanna Rose That is when Drew Gulak-n-Chuck Taylor walk out first and then following them is the debuting "Man Scout" Jake Manning and Manning holds up his Scout Book and points the crowd and tells them that all will follow his rules, then the Bravado Brothers are out and they get a bit of support from the crowd and then Gulak starts on the offensive versus Harlem Bravado... OPEN THE UNITED GATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHBRAVADOR BROTHERS (*) (HARLEM BRAVADO-N-LANCELOT BRAVADO) over Gentlemen's Club w/Chuck Taylor (Drew Gulak-n-Jake Manning)
(LANCELOT BRAVADO over Jake Manning/Bravado Elbow)Harlem Bravado takes a Spine Splitter by Drew Gulak during the early part of the match, but it was the defending champions who were the better tandem and it was a double team move that secured the successful defense for the Bravado Brothers. Our next match is about to start where first Chuck Taylor tells Gulak-n-Manning that he is going it alone and those two exit ringside and then Johnny Gargano is out for our next title match... OPEN THE FREEDOM GATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHJOHNNY GARGANO (*) over Chuck Taylor (Disqualification)Chuck Taylor almost lost three times during the match, plus he took a Hurts Donut and a Crosston Crab, but in the end it was a Wild Brawl that ended the match for Taylor and the "Whole SheBang" retains the OPEN THE FREEDOM GATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Larry Dallas is out first and then Caleb Konley follows him and then Rich Swann is out dancing to "All Night Long", then our final match of the night is about to start with Swann going on the offensive... EVOLVE CONTENDERS MATCHRICH SWANN over Caleb Konley w/Larry Dallas (Leap From Swann Pond)During the fight we witnessed Larry Dallas undoe a lower button on his shirt and he ignores the action in the ring, plus Konley almost lost the match early on. In the end though, Rich Swann takes the match and he now gets the next shot at AR Fox and the EVOLVE CHAMPIONSHIP as said by Lenny Leonard and it is Leonard who ends this broadcast of EVOLVE 4: KONLEY vs. SWANN by signing off... Looks like Chuck-T allowed his emotions to get the best of him on that last card... Never easy when you're pulling double duty... And it was great seeing Konley in that top contenders match, even though he lost to Swann... Wonder if we might be treated to the return of Midnight University somewhere down the line... Awesome stuff!

I am really looking forward to The Fray Match those are always fun as well as Swann vs. Fox. I'm liking Chuck Taylor and the Gentleman's Club but the Bravado's got the better of them. Chucky T also failed against Johnny Gargano but maybe the DQ can set up a rematch.

I wrapped up MERCURY RISING and will post it later, but my first go at THE FRAY MATCH since 2016 or so was a success and really fun. Oh you'll see Taylor versus Gargano again, but not right away... |

TJ Perkins was the first to debut on this night and next up we have Team Tremendous of Dan Barry-n-Bill Carr making their EVOLVE WRESTLING debut... (TRENT BARRETA over Dan Barry/DUDE BUSTER)Dan Barry started on the offensive versus Anthony Nese, but it was Trent Barreta who end the match with his finisher and it was Trent who continued to attack Barry, which resulted in Barry being injured. The crowd really laid in the jeers toward the PAB and Su Yung returns with bad mouthing the fans, next we see Johnny Gargano walking out to a roar of cheers and he talks about how he looks to face Biff Busick and then "Psycho Killer" is heard and walking out is the debuting Tommaso Ciampa and Ciampa tells the "Whole SheBang" he better worry about him and our next match is under way with Ciampa going on the offensive... OPEN THE FREEDOM GATE NON-CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHJOHNNY GARGANO (*) over Tommaso Ciampa (GARGANO ESCAPE +1)We witnessed a barn burner of a match where Gargano came close to losing twice during the match, but Gargano did hit a Hurts Donut and that helped lead to the victory by way of his finisher over Ciampa (4 tokens) and the crowd supported Gargano with cheers after the match ended. Out next we have Larry Dallas and Caleb Konley walking out and then the debuting Drew Galloway is out and the crowd cheer loudly for the Scott and our next match is off and running with Konley going on the offensive... CALEB KONLEY w/Larry Dallas over Drew Galloway (Disqualification)During the match we saw Dallas (early on failed in a distraction) smack talks with a fan and that gained the upper hand for Konley, plus we saw Galloway survive a HOME WRECKER. Konely (4 tokens) took a beating in that match, but it was the losing of his cool that costed Galloway the match and your winner is Caleb Konley. Larry Dallas and Caleb Konley took off running once Galloway got to his feet and chased after them to the back, next up we have Rich Swann versus AR Fox in our Main Event for the EVOLVE CHAMPIONSHIP... EVOLVE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHAR FOX (*) over Rich Swann (Air Fox)Rich Swann started on the offensive, but it was the defending champion AR Fox who was the better wrestler on the night and he beats Swann (1 token) to secure his 2nd successful title defense. After the match ended and to close out this broadcast, AR Fox and Rich Swann shake hands and then they interact with the crowd before both men head to the back... Really thought Ricochet was gonna win that Fray, but Busick is a solid competitor and it should be fun to watch him challenge Fox for the Evolve title... Also very cool that Ciampa made an appearance and I hope we see more cross-promotional talent in the future... Good times!

Busick with that win will challenge Johnny Gargano for the OPEN THE FREEDOM GATE CHAMPIONSHIP, but I'm sure he'll get his chance at the EVOLVE CHAMPIONSHIP in the future. Tommaso Ciampa with plenty of other cards from the different fed sets who appeared in Evolve will be full timers in my fed since they were part of Evolve, plus I'll be using others that I like or like the looks of that were not in Evolve will be on the roster... |
