Haha, apparently I touched a nerve by calling The Genius a "silly gimmick". I think you misunderstood me, I'd love a Genius card at some point. But The Genius doesn't really fit the theme, and Lanny's work in Memphis was very good. I also do like some of Koko's work in the WWF, but I think his actual ring work was so much better in Memphis. You definitely have a point that he wasn't anywhere near as much of a character. No one was doing the whole "killed the business" thing, I was just calling them silly because, well, they're silly...for better or worse, but it was by no means meant to be taken like there was never any silly gimmicks anywhere else. ..... LOL no nerve touched on my end. Nobody is allowed to touch me there. More touched by my third cup of coffee this morning. If you read my post it was not a defense of Lanny as the Genius. The point was it's all subjective. A lot of people are drawn to the WWF personas because that's what the vast majority of people who grew up on 80s and 90s wrestling saw. Even when I don't agree that's "the best" version (as in the case of the Genius) I can understand the desire to have that character you're familiar with. The funny thing is, with a lot of these guys the biggest change to the card would just be the art on the front. NOT the case with Stan Lane BTW, AND back on topic, who definitely needed the upcoming Fabulous Ones card. He didn't change his name, looked basically the same, but I've always almost thought of him as two separate people between The Fabulous Ones and Midnight Express. It's funny how that works sometimes. On that note, a lot of names come up in the discussion of greatest tag team wrestlers of all time, but how many were members of three top flight teams like Stan was during his career? Now let's get this Memphis expansion in hand so we can start talking about the Indianapolis expansion next. Bruiser, Yukon Moose Cholak, Dr Jerry Graham Jr, Great Wojo, Stormy Granzig all confirmed right? FG team, chime in here if I'm spoiling anything. |

Regarding Indianapolis, I have really enjoyed teaming The Crusher with Jackie Fargo and they have been successful for me (2 time and current EAWA Tag Team Champions) but I would definitely start teaming The Crusher with Dick The Bruiser immediately if we ever got Dick the Bruiser in the game.
But I think I might also soon start teaming The Crusher with Baron Von Raschke (I might move Von Raschke from my RAW brand to my EAWA brand in my next draft) and give Jackie Fargo more of a singles focus for awhile.

A color Blassie and Tolos, Enrique Torres, Gordman and Goliath, Bearcat Wright, Judo Gene LeBell, Baron Michele Leone, Billy Varga, etc...
Indianapolis would also be great. Bruiser, Snyder, Blackjack Lanza (RIP), Moose Cholak...

L.A. could easily be the theme for a four card Portland style set just with names already signed. Blassie and The Tolos brothers, and I'm not sure who for the fourth spot... Maybe Rikidozan (He was WWA champion)?
My dream is a Dallas set.

Red Berry would fit the theme as a wrestler. |
