This may seem like an odd thread, but I have noticed quite a lot of debate re. how to properly pronounce Krakan...
So I thought this might become an interesting topic of discussion... What are some of the most difficult COTG character names to pronounce?
I would like to kick things off by asking how some of my fellow promoters pronounce Anivar... I've always given it the long 'I', but I could see others giving it more of an 'EE' sound.
Call it my need to know.

I always heard it in my head as Anne-Eh-Var.
What about Paganax? I heard it during the con and I had to really think what was being said and eventually was like, oh that's how you say it I have always thought it was Pay-Gah-Nocks.

I've used the ax sound but I'm open on it......your Anivar matches mine, Faction.

Just going onto the Krakan one, what was the general consensus on that one. I am sure I once read from Tom it was Crock-in but could be wrong. Ever since i always thought of in that way.
Back on topic. For me I guess I'd say it as An-ee-var
Never been good at this phonetic stuff!

Anavar (Anivar) is an anabolic steroid. Like a lot of COTG guys his name spelling is slightly altered. The pronunciation is An-Uh-var. Yes, he was purposely named this. You’ll also notice he has moves like performance enhancer (or something similar I forget). www.steroid.com/Anavar.phpHope that helps!

Now that mystery is solved, I wonder where the name Balaal originated... Hmmmmm.

Cool topic! And NOT because I already brought it up a few of times before, haha! (SCION Nexus, Torin CAELUM, etc.) I mentioned when the card first came out, I thought "Anivar" sounded too much like "avitar" so I changed the name. Just like "Atman" sounded too much like "Antman" and I changed that as well (for the record, changed to "Mercenary" Mark Jason, and Joshua Jove respectively). I do remember the "CROCK-en" (or "CROCK-an"?) one though in a Promoter issue. I used to pronounce that "Crock-CAN". Off-hand, on a related matter: I can't remember if there are any MOVES that need to be pronounced correctly. Were there any? Todd C WTIC

Moves...likely
Yeah I noticed Anivar's name quickly. Balaal has an interesting origin of course.
