**slight rant incoming**
So Over The Top wrestling in Ireland had their first show back today in 18 months. Out of all the tale t on the shows may e 3 or 4 of them have wrestled in the past year and a half and that's literally been 1 or 2 matches. Now here in the UK and Ireland there has been no training schools allowed to open so for a lot of the wrestlers today was their first time in a ring since lockdown started. Sadly this led to 2 injuries.
British wrestler Omari landed awkwardly after a poison-rana by local star Terry Thatcher. The match was immediately stopped and medics checked on him. I was told during the break Omari suffered a stinger on the move but was doing OK.
In the main event the Kings of the North (who feature in my OTT pack, shameless plug lol) were challenging for the vacant tag titles. In the opening of the match Bonesaw was pulled of the top rope by ROH star Martina and appeared to suffer some kind of leg injury. Bonesaw was unable to return to the match and stayed on the floor until after about 8 minutes he put up the X himself and the match ended in a very quick roll up before medics helped him to the back.
My question is, should the show have went ahead with wrestlers having little to no ring time or training over the past 18 months. Yes injuries are part of the business but you could see a lot of issues and potentially near disastrous mome ts throughout the show.

The wrestlers have to be smart enough not to try stuff they shouldn't be doing having little experience and not been in the ring at all for over a year.

Once wrestlers are trained and out wrestling on the indies, how much time do they really spend back at a training facility?

Sadly I think the excitement of being back, and the pressure to put on a show got to some Of them. In the case of Bonesaw injury I think it was a freak accident but I need to go back and rewatch it and see

Once wrestlers are trained and out wrestling on the indies, how much time do they really spend back at a training facility? Here in Ireland /Northern Ireland, with the exception of the kings who were wrestling every other week across the UK everyone else is doing a minimum 2 or 3 training sessions a week. It's the only way to get booked here because there is very few companies
