I think it's time to bring my indy fed to life. 

I present to you Clearwater Wrestling. 

A little backstory on my main storyline at the moment:


Clearwater Wrestling - based out of downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin – was established in 2016 and holds all their events at the Metro Event Center except for an end of summer outdoor supercard which is held at Carson Park, a local summer collegiate baseball stadium.


The Dark Menace started off as ‘Manager of Champions’, guiding multiple wrestlers to the Clearwater Wrestling Championship as well as managing different teams to Tag Team Championship victory. Prior to the final event in 2018, Bryan Danielson challenged Champion BJ Whitmer to a match with the title on the line. The Dark Menace was so sure his man, Whitmer, would be victorious that he added the stipulations that if Danielson lost, he would have to leave Clearwater Wrestling but if Whitmer lost – ‘Which he will NOT do!’ – not only would Danielson win the title, but The Dark Menace would leave. Bryan Danielson beat BJ Whitmer in four moves. Dark Menace was NOT happy.


July 2019: Clearwater Wrestling Champion “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson, a major fan favorite, is battling Martin Casaus in an intense back and forth match for the title when Casaus Irish-whipped Danielson into the referee.


As the referee was knocked out, Clearwater Tag Team Champions Da Hit Squad ran down to the ring and attacked Danielson! As the trio was beating on Bryan Danielson, Matt Cross & “Midnight Son” Caleb Konley hit the ring to even the odds. Cross & Konley were clashing with Dan Maff & Monsta Mack in the ring as Bryan Danielson threw Martin Casaus outside of the ring. Danielson stepped outside of the ropes and stood on the edge of the ring waiting for the right moment to drop an elbow on a downed Casaus when Dan Maff hit a running forearm on Matt Cross, causing him to crash into Bryan Danielson! Danielson fell awkwardly onto the arena floor and immediately grabbed his knee. The villains fled as Matt Cross checked on his fallen friend.

On the next card it was announced that Bryan Danielson had suffered a major knee injury & would be out for an undetermined amount of time. It was also announced that due to his injury, he would have to vacate the Clearwater Wrestling Championship. A 16-man tournament was held over the following weeks and, incidentally, was won by Martin Casaus.


Bryan Danielson asked for and was granted his release from Clearwater Wrestling following his knee surgery later that month.

January 2021: Following the Jigsaw’s Clearwater Wrestling Television Championship win over Logan Black, the lights go out enveloping the Metro in darkness. When the lights come back on The Dark Menace, a man not seen in a Clearwater ring for over three years, is standing there smirking at the crowd with a microphone in hand. The crowd showers him with boos.


“Well, it’s great to see all of you again too! I have been gone for a very long time and by the looks of it, Clearwater Wrestling has become a sad, hollow shell of its former self. I simply cannot believe the competition is lacking so much that a man like Matt Cross can be the Clearwater Wrestling Champion or a man so embarrassed by his appearance that he – willingly - wears a mask and is proud to call himself a champion. Yes, Jigsaw, I am talking about you. And then there’s Adrian Quest & Andy Brown – two jabroni’s who lucked their way into winning the Tag Team Championship. Talk about embarrassing. That’s all about to change. Matt Cross, Jigsaw, Static – I want you to listen very closely. I have scoured the country and signed some major names that are going to restore Clearwater Wrestling to the glory it deserves. All four men that I will be managing have been seen on the biggest stage of them all. In time, you will find out who they are but be aware, they WILL be taking your championships. Oh, and Marti Belle? Don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. I have signed the woman who will be taking that Women’s Championship off your hands very soon.”


The Dark Menace starts leaving the ring as Matt Cross’ music hits for the start of the main event. Matt walks angrily out to confront him.

“Menace, do you really think you are just going to walk back into Clearwater Wrestling and manage all of these people to every championship just because they apparently were in the big time? Yeah, I don’t think so. I’m going to prove you wrong and take GREAT pleasure in sending you packing once again!”

Dark Menace just smirks at Matt Cross and starts walking towards the back. He turns around and says, “Big time, huh? I kind of like that…”


February 2021: BREAKING NEWS: The Clearwater Wrestling Championship Committee has agreed to grant The Dark Menace’s mystery client a Television title shot against champion Jigsaw.


At February’s event, Peter Gabriel’s Big Time is heard over the loudspeaker as The Dark Menace walks to the ring.

“Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the first member of my stable, which from here on out will known as Big Time, the man who will be YOUR Clearwater Wrestling Television champion in just a matter of moments, “Limitless” Keith Leeeeeeee!”

The crowd reacts in awe as the big man saunters to the ring. He stares at the arena entrance with a very intense expression. Jigsaw runs down the ramp, jumps on the ring apron, climbs to the top of the turnbuckle and launches himself at Lee. Keith Lee disposes of Jigsaw in record time with a Spirit Bomb to claim the Television championship. Dark Menace jaws with the crowd to let them know, “That’s one!”.


March 2021: No event due to the month-long March Mayhem Tournament.

April 2021: Marti Belle has been Clearwater Wrestling Women’s Champion since December when she ended the historically long reign of Thunder Rosa. Marti has been extremely popular with the fans with her personality, wrestling style and open contract for a chance at her Women’s championship. As she awaits her mystery opponent, Dark Menace strolls to the ring. He stops at the bottom of the stage ramp, turns around and points at the arena curtain. A mixture of Peter Gabriel’s Big Time & Hole’s Doll Parts blare over the loudspeakers as Mia Yim walks to the ring. After a very back and forth match, Mia Yim stands tall holding the Clearwater Women’s Championship high above her head. Television Champion Keith Lee walks to the ring and the two hug. Dark Menace is all smiles in the ring with her as he tells the crowd, “That’s two!”.


May 2021: No event due to ‘Circumstances beyond our control”.


June 2021: Clearwater Wrestling Tag Team Champions Static – Adrian Quest & Andy Brown – were attacked by two masked men while training at a local gym prior to June’s event. Static went on one of the local television morning shows and stated they want whomever it was that attacked them and the titles would be on the line!


June’s main event saw Static stand tall in the ring, fired up, waiting on their opponents. As Big Time played over the loudspeaker, The Dark Menace walked out through the curtain with a microphone in hand.


“I assume you two jabronis would like to know who you are facing, correct? Well, let me tell you a little bit about them. They are two highly decorated amateur wrestlers, two-time Ring of Honor tag team champions, three-time champions in that promotion from Stamford, you might say they are a pretty good tag team. I say they are what their team name states – ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin – The World’s Greatest Tag Team!”

An all-out brawl erupted as WGTT hit the ring. The action went back and forth as both teams were able to hit the other with at least one finisher. At one-point Dark Menace started getting nervous. He jumped up on the ring apron and nailed Andy Brown with his cane which opened the door for Charlie Haas to hit his finisher, 1-2-3, and the WGTT are the new Clearwater Wrestling Tag Team Champions! As Keith Lee & Mia Yim came to the ring to celebrate, Clearwater Wrestling Champion Matt Cross walks out to confront the Dark Menace & Big Time.


“So it looks like I’m next. Let’s have it, who are you sending after me? Mike Bennett? Paul London? Kenny Omega?”


Menace takes the microphone from Cross as Big Time stands on the entrance stage towards the curtain.


“Matthew, the final member of Big Time is someone that has been waiting to get his hands on you for a very long time. This man has been stewing for close to three years, just itching to get his hands on you. You know who I am talking about yet? No? Well, let me let you in on a little secret. He’s here in the building so why not bring out the wrestler that is going to be wearing that championship belt around his waist very soon?”

The Final Countdown blares over the loudspeaker as “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson walks through the curtain to a stunned Matt Cross. The crowd is dead silent as Danielson gets nose-to-nose with Cross, stares intensely in Cross’ eyes, turns around and leaves with Big Time.

As Matt Cross stands confused, Bryan Danielson runs back through the curtain, kicks Cross in the gut and applies the Cattle Mutilation. As multiple referees run out to get Danielson off Cross, Bryan picks up the Clearwater Wrestling Championship and mouths the word ‘Soon’ and tosses the title onto Matt Cross.


July 2021: Due to moving, there was no event.


How will this all play out? Only the dice know…

* Runway Royalty (Chet Stevens/Jakob Hammermeier) def. Bear Country
* "Limitless" Keith Lee successfully defended the Television Championship vs. Jigsaw, Lee continues to beatdown Jigsaw after the bell. Kyle Fletcher runs down for the save and challenges Lee to put up the TV title at the next show in September.  
* Kenny King handily defeats Shynron
* World's Greatest Tag Team beats The Colony (Fire Ant/Green Ant) to retain the Clearwater Wrestling Tag Team Championships
* "The Winner's Circle" interview segment with Larry Sweeney - Guest: Calvin Tankman. Tankman puts the entire roster on notice. "It don't matter if you are friend or foe - you will ALL be run over by the Tank!"
* "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson wins the Clearwater Wrestling Championship by defeating Matt Cross
        - Midway through the match, Cross takes advantage and is about to go for DEATH FROM ABOVE when the Dark Menace jumps on the ring apron to try and knock Cross off the top of the turnbuckle. Matt gets a kick to the face in and the Menace falls to the floor. As Cross is still standing on the top rope, he looks at a prone Danielson in the middle of the ring and then looks over at a downed Dark Menace. In a shocking move, he hits the DEATH FROM ABOVE on the Dark Menace on the floor! The crowd is going nuts! As Cross tries to regain his bearings after crawling back into the ring, Daniel Garcia runs down to distract the referee. Matt Cross is having none of this and tries to get a swing at Garcia but Bryan Danielson catches him in CATTLE MUTILATION! Matt Cross taps and Bryan Danielson is your NEW Clearwater Wrestling Champion! The show ends with Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia standing in the middle of the ring, the championship held high in the air by Danielson.

September 2021:
The Metro Event Center
Eau Claire, WI  

A mixture of Europe's Final Countdown and Peter Gabriel's Big Time plays over the loudspeaker as Clearwater Wrestling Champion Bryan Danielson & the rest of Big Time, along with Daniel Garcia, make their way to the ring. The crowd is showing their disapproval with extremely loud boos. Danielson grabs the microphone. 

"Boo all you want but it doesn't change the fact that I AM YOUR CLEARWATER WRESTLING CHAMPION! <crowd boos even louder> I'm sure you are all wondering where our beloved advisor, the Dark Menace, is? He was the victim of a heinous and uncalled for attack by Matt Cross and will not be around for the time being <crowd cheers> while he is recovering at home. It doesn't matter, really, that he is not with us. Collectively we are unstoppable. We have the big man as Television champion, two guys who live up to their name as the World's Greatest Tag Team as tag champs and the dangerous Mia Yim with the Women's title. Oh, and did I mention that I am YOUR Clearwater Wrestling champion? Plus Big Time is expanding by one more member. Much to your displeasure, some day I won't be around - oh, don't be sad, it won't be for quite a while - so we need to train the next generation. I am personally taking Daniel Garcia on as my protégé and teaching him everything I know. I am even going to fully give him the Dragon nickname when I decide to hang 'em up. I want the entire locker room to listen and listen very closely. Big Time is the standard bearer in the world of professional wrestling. We hold every championship and, quite frankly, will continue to hold on to them until we decide we don't want them anymore. So much so that here's the caveat for all of you: if you can beat one of us for a championship, that member will leave Clearwater Wrestling. The key word is IF but when you have Keith Lee, Mia Yim, Shelton & Charlie and the "Red Dragon" Daniel Garcia? No one is getting beat. No one is sure as hell going to beat me so don't even bother." Final Countdown plays as Big Time leaves the ring.
