I come at the Filsinger games primarily as a collector of wrestling trading cards (although I have since learned and enjoy the occasional game). The cards typically look nice and have more surface area than the typical trading card so they are fantastic for getting signed. In my time collecting most wrestlers seem to enjoy the look and their cards compared to most indie trading card sets. occasionally you’ll get a wrestler complaining about not getting any cards yet, but that is a issue that seems to happen less and less often.
This past Saturday I was at Warrior Wrestling and I had a Thunder Rosa card from a past promoter prime. She looked at the card and started ranting about how she has a copyright on her name and likeness and that Filsinger never asked permission. My initial thought was that doesn’t sound like Filsinger and how they operate. Most recent sets are seemingly done by agreements in person or online. And I’ve seen and heard enough from this message board and from other wrestlers to know that to be true. However, it did make me wonder if there was ever a point where wrestlers did not provide verbal or written permission to be in the release sets?
Anyway definitely not trying to be controversial. Just wanted to share a weird experience I had while trying to learn more about a product I enjoy.

Earlier card releases and agreement with wrestler or promotion . I haven't got a clue
Only one I have had say anything Greg Hammer Valentine about 12 years ago "Do you have this game from America ?"

She definitely signed to be in the game. I saw the proof and form when Zeke signed her in 2017.

My initial thought was that doesn’t sound like Filsinger and how they operate. I signed Thunder Rosa myself personally after an AWS show in which she wrestled Leva Bates back in April 2017. I am looking at Thunder Roas's signed release form as I type this up and she signed in light blue ink. I think Thunder Rosa just forgot she signed and that does happen sometimes. For example, at a show in June, I asked a woman wrestler who will probably be in the Q4 set if someone had talked to her about the game and she said no and signed the form but then I found out the next day she actually already signed with Ty States through Email last year. But, yeah, Thunder Rosa was talked to about the game by me and signed with me at AWS in South Gate, California in April 2017. Toasterboy was with me at that show as it was after a Galactical that day.

I'm sure a lot of people don't remember everything they did especially wrestlers who probably sign a heck of a lot of stuff and later forget that they did especially when it was over 3 years ago.

I've heard many stories like that. Even Tom has had that happen to him over the years. Often wrestler's feel kind of dumb when they are shown proof and change their tune. It happens, they're human.

And not to stir a pot nor beat a horse, but i think this sometimes is the result of the length of tie between signing and release

Thanks for sharing the story.

Probably just forgot. One of my best friends was released this year and I texted him, kind of dogging him that he didn’t tell me (as I had mentioned the game to him before) and is response was just “I guess I agreed to it.” It happens *shrug*
