Live Road Show from the Butler Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana
Mad Dog Vachon vs Jim Londos - The veteran grappler Londos was able to overcome a brutal attack at the opening bell to subdue Vachon, finishing him off with a thundering fireman's carry slam.
Blue Demon vs Lou Thesz - Thesz was scrambling out of the ring after an early charge by the lucha tactician. The Demon gave pursuit, where he was laid out on the arena floor, and was unable to return to the ring in time, giving Thesz a countout victory.
The Sheik vs Roy Heffernan - Heffernan's trusty teammate Al Costello joined him to keep an eye on the always shifty Sheik. The tactic seemed to get to the Sheik's head, as he appeared wary of the Aussie outside the ring the whole time. Heffernan took advantage, and controlled the match throughout.
The Crusher vs El Santo - The larger Crusher gave the former champ Santo all he could handle, but in the end, Santo's wide array of offensive maneuvers had Crusher's head spinning, submitting him with La De A Caballo.
Don Leo Jonathan vs Killer Kowalski - Our main event of the evening was a spectacle between two giants of the GWA, Kowalski and Jonathan. The ref had his hands full and then some to be sure, as emotions ran hot between the combatants. In trying to break up the two in the turnbuckle, the official took an elbow to the jaw from an unconcerned Kowalski, drawing the bell, and the disqualification.

Angelo Poffo vs Chief Don Eagle - Our opening match tonight pits the Mohawk warrior Don Eagle against the physical specimen that is Angelo Poffo. EAGLE PINS POFFO
Bull Curry vs Maurice Tillet - The wild man, Bull Curry faces the gentleman brute, Maurice Tillet. These two veteran grapplers put on a great show, brutal, physical and bloody. Gorgeous George vs Mike DiBiase - Mike DiBiase steps in to face the controversial Gorgeous George. DiBiase has not impressed in the GWA to date, but early on looks like that could change. Hart comes out from the bell at full throttle, putting Valentine on the defensive right away and doesn't let up. Stu is eventually able to grapple the champ to the mat, and locks on a heel hook. Valentine can't break the hold, and tries desperately to reach the ropes, to no avail, and has to tap. We have a new World Champion! Stu Hart! HART WINS BY SUBMISSION
