The Crusher vs Bull Curry - This one promised to be a brutal slog of a fight from the start. Predictably, the fight spilled outside the ring, where Curry grabbed for a chair, only to have Crusher pry it from him, and commence to put it to use. The ref called for the bell. CURRY WINS BY DISQUALIFICATION
Gorgeous George vs Stu Hart - The Human Orchid, escorted by ally Bob Hope, carried the day, dominating his Cannuck counterpart, finishing him off with a swift takedown, and a well executed small package pin. GEORGE PINS HART
Lord James Blears vs Blue Demon - Blears' push for redemption marches on, as he impresses in dispatching another luchador foe. He capped the match with a showy splash for the pin. BLEARS PINS DEMON

Card #24 From Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Don Leo Johnathan vs Bull Curry - The big man shows off some surprising athleticism against Wild Bill Curry. As the two are going back and forth early, Jonathan is sent into the ropes, rolls to avoid a telegraphed sunset flip by Curry, then gathers him up for a quick takedown, and bundles him up in a small package for a quick pin. JONATHAN PINS CURRY
Antonino Rocca vs The Crusher - Speaking of athleticism, Antonino Rocca put on a display at the expense of The Crusher. The hapless man from Milwaukee was tossed all around the ring, eventually securing the pin with an ankle scissors takedown. ROCCA PINS CRUSHER
Danny McShain vs Verne Gagne - McShain surprises the crowd, controlling the match early on. Gagne rallies with a sudden flurry of moves, before locking on the notorious Gagne Sleeper. In a matter of a couple minutes, McShain goes from an upset victor to a sleeping loser. GAGNE WINS BY SUBMISSION
Gory Guerrero vs Buddy Rogers - Tonight, Buddy Rogers showed a glimpse of the immense potential he's been alleged to possess. In short time, Rogers connected with a swift pair of dropkicks, and pinned Guerrero to close the match. ROGERS PINS GUERRERO
Lou Thesz vs Killer Kowalski - The imposing figure of Killer Kowalski was brought down swiftly and frequently by the technician known as Lou Thesz. The Killer managed a few violent outbursts, but Thesz grappling skill ruled the day, a clinical hammerlock twisted into a pinning combination, and the Killer was done. THESZ PINS KOWALSKI
El Santo vs Bronko Nagurski - GWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT - BEST OF 3 FALLS - The Champ is on a roll. He's gone through Thesz, Gagne, Kowalski, all challengers. Tonight, the former champ, the legendary luchador steps up to lay claim to what once was his. The first fall would be a back and forth struggle, both showing the aggression, toughness, and guts of a champion. It would be Nagurski who would break down the challenger with a vicious power slam to get the pin. The second fall would see the action spill outside, with Nagurski ignoring repeated orders from the ref, drawing the ire of the guy in the stripes, who called for the bell. The third and final fall would belong to Nagurski, who would lock Santo in his famous crab hold to secure the win. NAGURSKI WINS IN SPLIT FALLS

Jan 7 - GWA Wrestling Showcase, on The Dumont Network
Lord James Blears vs Mick McManus - Our opening match in this debut episode, The Battle of Britain. His Lordship, James Blears faces the scrappy New Cross Londoner, Mick McManus. Blears proceeded to unleash a series of taunts on the newcomer before the bell, and carried out a relentless physical assault as well, tossing McManus all around the ring, and pinning him quickly in rather unceremonious fashion. BLEARS PINS MCMANUS
Fritz Von Goering vs Maurice Tillet - The Teutonic Terror squares off against the French Angel. It's well established that these two clearly don't like each other. This match proved to be fast, furious, and violent. Von Goering took the early offensive, but Tillet appeared to take what Von Goering had to give, and then reversed the tables. The Angel stunned Fritz with a vicious headbutt, and then locked on a bearhug. Von Goering had no choice but to concede. TILLET WINS BY SUBMISSION
Chief Don Eagle vs Gorgeous George w/ Bob Hope - The Human Orchid, escorted again by good friend Bob Hope, who cajoled the crowd and the cameras, introduced George, and palled along at ringside, as the Gorgeous One put on an impressive grappling exhibition, finishing off the Chief with a spinning toehold in surprisingly short time. GEORGE WINS BY SUBMISISON
Tag Team Title Tournament : The Luchadors, Black Shadow and Blue Demon vs Bull Curry and Mad Dog Vachon - Los Luchadores looked like a well-oiled machine in this match, with quick strike moves and rapid tags. The quick swaps and teamwork frustrated Curry, who resorted to his trusty brass knuckles, connecting with Blue Demon's forehead, and dropped him like a bad habit. However, Curry dropped the tool, leading the ref to call for the bell. SHADOW AND DEMON WIN BY DISQUALIFICATION
Following the match, we see the World Champion, Bronko Nagurski in the ring. We're happy to announce that two weeks from tonight, right here at the Hammerstein Ballroom, and right here on your television, This man, GWA World Champion Bronko Nagurski will face his next challenger, Lou Thesz! The Champ promises to Mr. Thesz and the sellout audience that he plans to leave no doubt to anyone that he is still the toughest SOB in the land.
Killer Kowalski vs Buddy Rogers - As the Champ reaches the doors leading back to the lockerroom, Buddy Rogers steps out for his headline match, and the two engage in a bit of a shoving match. Security is able to separate the two before things erupt, and Rogers steps into the ring to face the imposing Killer Kowalski. The pre-match encounter seems to have Rogers on edge, who fights with an extra nasty chip on his shoulder. As Kowalski muscles him to the turnbuckle and steps back for a powerful charge, Rogers evades him, and flings Kowalski out of the ring, where he then leaps on to Kowalski, and a wild brawl erupts. In the course of the brawl, Rogers takes the ringside bell, and smashes it between Kowalski's shoulders. The ref ended the match, though the bell was unavailable. KOWALSKI WINS BY DISQUALIFICATION
What a card we had tonight folks! Next week, the war between Freddie Blassie and The Sheik goes in front of the TV cameras for the first time. In the Tag Team Title Tournament semifinals, The Luchadors will face The Outback Raiders, Roy Heffernan and Al Costello. In two weeks, you heard it here, Lou Thesz challenges for the GWA Championship against Bronko Nagurski!
