Am I the only one who thought it would be revealed that Helsin was actually Shepard? They are really so close to the same character that I thought for sure that was a story that would be told, but it never materialized. Great show. I like the talk about the collectability of the game. How many of those first 500 sets are even still out there, much less in collectible condition? I was probably an owner of the NEXT 500 because I started playing before the first invasion. The original Johnny Rocket and Draconian Sheik are often talked about as rarities, but P3 and Tyranny are the ones that escaped me from those early exclusives. One I do have but never hear about is the first King Kong Bundy autographed card. The one where the nameplate that is on the standard card has been left blank and Bundy signed in that spot. Does ANYONE know how many of those were actually made? I went back through the old Promoter newsletters and asked for help and none of us thus far have ever come up with an answer. We getting Centra and Kronos heat now? I'm here for it. Popcorn ready. Let's do it. Message board flame wars like it's 2005! Or not. Actually, no.

Tom does not like to use other people's characters and Shepard was an Osk creation, probably why that story never came about.
I own one of the first 500 sets, got it in December of 1986.

Great episode. Sam brought up some things I didn’t even think about mentioning Rundar’s true intentions. Todd too with Oracle and the control of the portals.
I feel that the CWF has been such a great addition to COTG along with Kronos and FTR because each feels different. Not in a major way, its the same game but there’s subtle differences. The card stats, the factions and how the feuds are set up. It reminds me of the 90s where we had WWF, WCW, ECW. As someone who plays mostly by the book I appreciate that.

I really enjoyed this episode. So Kraken has like a galaxy-wide Hitmen for Hire organization and Calamity is his top guy.I like what he said about Chaos Supreme being self absorbed and not being a good or bad guy.I like the Easter eggs Mike dropped about the portals and who could be coming through and the possible cataclysmic event coming next set.I like how the storylines and cards were broken down and the thought process behind them.

This was a fantastic episode. It almost makes me want to dive into Future Shock and the CWF - almost. I just don’t want to get overwhelmed. A GWF starting in 2074 through 2137, and LOW is probably my limit.
Really interesting stuff from the crew and I loved all the insight Mike provided!

Thoroughly enjoyed the inside look at the creative process used by Mike M... There are some great stories developing in the CWF and I hope we continue to see a mix of new characters along with those that have been reimagined for this particular timeline. It was also fun to hear everyone's thoughts on the new releases... I'm having a blast running my first deathmatch tournament, but I agree with Sam Fain - I'm using an evens/odds roll to decide whether I roll on the deathmatch charts or the standard ropes/turnbuckle/deathjump charts... Then I simply use my imagination to fill in the finer details.

Fantastic Episode! Digging the new Malice (one of my favorite Gladiators!)
I really enjoy hearing the process behind everything that goes into the creativity and thought processes that go into bringing a set to life!
And - Oooohhhhh, Shadowy & Hooded Figures still to come!!!!

I'm the friend.

I’m going to take your Mad Man Pondo challenge that was brought up at the beginning of the episode. I might make it part of a storyline if I can figure out how to get there. It’ll be tough for him not to use any weapons!
