I like the Glads as total independents (which the Roadies really were when you think about it at least during their NWA run) Not this semi-face role they've been in since 2120. The reason the Glads are semi-faces is because of the Minister of War: Spike. They way he took over as Minister of War was written to make him look heroic. He was the first Gladiator to actually care about the well being of his friend. The top gladiator, Disaster, while he did team with Mandrill, did the face move of nearly risking his life just to do what he thought was the right thing to do, helping Spike escape from the Atheran prison. Also keep in mind that if the Gladiators are heels, what are the Master Race suppose to be, faces?

The Master Race can still be heels. The Gladiators can still be faces in their own way. I just think them being independents that attack everyone would fight the Gladiators a lot better. That way you don't have to turn anyone else.
And even if the Glads went heel you can leave the Master Race as heels and have the fans decide who they cheer for those matches. It would be like when heels stood up to the nWo in WCW. They're still heels and terrible human beings but the fans cheer them on when they're taking on the greater evil.

That's kind of how it is now, isn't it? It's not like Tom ever writes the Gladiators talking about supporting the hero team. It usually consists of Endgame saying something like, let the Gladiators fight the Eugenics team, and we'll fight Outlaw Nation. They also have common enemies. You can still book Endgame vs. Disaster in a feud, and it would still make sense. Other than Wolf, the Gladiators don't really care about anyone but themselves.

I agree that the Gladiators aren't really being written as "faces", in that they fued with a villain team, but they pledge no allegiance to any cause but there own. And that is how it should be.

That's very true. I just feel like they've lost a lot of their edge since Monolith showed up and their face turn was more official in the booklets. I play them as inbetween. I guess I'm just looking for one of those charts where they randomly attack people. I would love for them to lay out everyone in the 2124 booklet. Just something that gives them that edge back that they had as heels.
