Willie Shines, a former fullback in the Canadian Football League, passed away at 79. The following is text from Mr. Shines's online obituary: "A very rambunctious boy, Willie quickly developed a passion for sports and went on to play Football, Basketball and Baseball at Trott Vocational School and won titles such as the 1960 All-City football fullback, 1961 All-City first baseman and 1962 All-City basketball Player of the Year. He went on to be inducted in 2015 into the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame.

Larry Lacewell, a former college football coach and longtime scouting director for the Dallas Cowboys, passed away at the age of 85 on May 18th. Lacewell was the Dallas Cowboys Director of college and pro scouting from 1992-2004 and was a 3× Super Bowl champion (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX) during his tenure as the Director of Scouting for the Dallas Cowboys. He also coached for many years at the collegiate level with stops at the following universities: 1959 Alabama (GA) 1960–1961 Arkansas State (assistant) 1965 Kilgore JC (assistant) 1966 Oklahoma (freshmen) 1967 Wichita State (assistant) 1968 Iowa State (DC/E/LB) 1969 Oklahoma (DE) 1970–1972 Oklahoma (DC) 1973–1977 Oklahoma (AHC/DC) 1978 Arkansas State (volunteer) 1979–1989 Arkansas State 1990–1991 Tennessee (DC)

Sean Shanahan, a former center and right-winger in the NHL and WHA, passed away on May 15th at the age of 71. Shanahan played with the following teams for parts of 4 seasons from 1975-1976 to 1978-1979: Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, Colorado Rockies and the Cincinnati Stingers. Here is an excerpt from his online obituary: "Sean displayed early on, a special talent for athletics and business, earning a full hockey scholarship to play with the Providence College Friars, coached by Lou Lamoriello from 1971 to 1973, as well as graduating with a degree in Finance. In hockey, Sean was described as a six-foot-three bearded and bruising forward with the size to make an impact. His hockey career included playing for two championship teams. He won the AHL Calder Cup with the 1976 Nova Scotia Voyagers and the NHL Stanley Cup with the 1976 Montreal Canadiens the same year. After a 7-year professional hockey career, Sean turned his talents to the Capital Markets."
