It has come down to this.
All the NWA territory members have seemingly started having problems with each other in recent days. All kinds of bickering and bad mouthing. Why does one group get a title shot and we don't? Why do they get to host a ppv and we don't? Those people don't deserve to be in the NWA. Comments like that have caused a lot of headaches for the NWA board of directors.
The NWA expanded with the additions of Extreme Championship Wrestling and most recently the African Elite Wrestling promotion. Neither of these decisions were met with much applause from the other members. It didn't take long for everyone to be talking trash about the others.
It has been decided any problems will be settled in the ring. Every NWA member will take part in The Federation Wars!
Each territory will form a team to represent itself in the round-robin tournament against all other NWA members.
The team will consist of a total of 10 wrestlers.
They will have:
one singles wrestler
one hardcore wrestler
one submission wrestler
one junior heavyweight or cruiserweight
one female wrestler
one tag team
one six-man team
Each territory will match up against all the others with the singles wrestlers meeting, the hardcore wrestlers, etc. One point will be scored for each win and with seven matches taking place the maximum points available is seven.
The team that wins the best of seven matches wins that round. If the score is 4-3 no bonus points will be awarded. A win by 5-2 gains one additional point, 6-1 adds two points, and 7-0 adds three points to the team total.
Standings will be maintained and the top two scoring teams at the end will meet for the championship.
Individual win/loss records will also be kept.
Each round of the tournament will be hosted by one territory. There will be four shows that week with each of the matchups between the territories.
Stay tuned for further news releases regarding the schedule, the arenas, and the names of who will represent each territory in The Federation Wars!
