I was looking over the cards for this newest expansion and the Promoter Prime PG-13 that are related, and I noticed no fewer than FOUR of these cards have move 1 on level 1 as "slap and (insert taunt here)": Poffo, Dundee, and both PG-13. So that got me to thinking "hey, I've seen this before". Actually, doing a cursory inspection of the cards I found it no fewer than TEN times: the four in this set as well as Street, Prime Brutus, Christopher, Kip James, Candido, and Steele. All on the first move on level 1 offense, all "slap and (some sort of taunt)". Great Gama has "Thigh slap and charge" as his level 1 move 1, but that doesn't count. So I suppose my question is, with all of this slapping and taunting going on do we need a duel chart? Will there be pistols at dawn? Maybe something to think about for the Ringside Companion book, volume 2.

I really hate the "jump into arms and kiss" move on Adrian Street's card. It's not something he should be doing more than once per match.
I also dislike ag/pw moves where the move in question doesn't make sense, eg. piledriver(ag) or elbow drop(pw).

The compromise was to add a "slap", "punch", or "kick" to the non-move move. We'll have to make note to mix it up with more punches and kicks in the future.

If not glove we need a "What would Miss Manners say" chart as that would be poor manners. FYI for anyone seeing a move that does not make sense to happen more than once, do what I do. Let it happen the first roll then use your creativity to substitute a move the other times. It can be a simple Level 1 type move or get creative with what the wrestler does before and/or after the move. Just have fun with it.

Those taunt moves are strictly almost always once per match events. After that it's a punch, forearm, or kick. Same with choice chart moves that don't work for the wrestler. In those cases I just roll and the move they use is the oe originally listed on the card, with the exception of course being if the choice is for a deathjump, ropes, or turnbuckle chart.

Depending on the wrestler the taunts can vary for me. Maybe the wrestler first. Manager or ringside ally next. Then the fans. Along with who the wrestler is, what era they are wrestling in could come into play.

If you guys defer to me for the stats on that upcoming babyface Bugsy McGraw card I'll give you a pass. Can we fit "slaps his own head and spins in a circle- 1" on one line? oops....was I supposed to type "spoilers" before that?

good old Bugsy.
To me the nice thing about level 1 and 2 moves since they can't cause a pin is that they're easier than heck to substitute...guy not going to slap someone for the eighth time, have him pull off a wristlock or an eye rake or a quick thumb to the throat, changes nothing in terms of card strength but gives some variety to things.

I usually just substitute it for another strike in my mind if it's already been done in the match and doesn't make sense to do again. Maybe the best "fix" to this would be simply use the text 'strike & strut across the ring - 1', then the strike type is up to the promoter.
