All Stars of American Wrestling Week 11 From the WRAZ-TV Studios in Raleigh
This weeks show opened with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Hennan solomly addressing the audiance about a serious incident that occured before the show went on the air. Grainy security camera footage was shown of The American Males, Scotty Riggs and Marcus Bagwell, arriving at the studio. Suddenly, two burly, bearded men attacked the good looking duo, battering them around the head and shoulders with what appeared to be large bones. Monsoon gave out a number where fans could call to give tips to ASWA security pertaining to the attackers' indenties.
Match 1: Austin Idol Vs. Kenny Jay
One things for sure, The Universal Heartthrob wasn’t getting paid by the hour tonight. The Sodbuster didn’t know what hit him as Austin nailed him with a body slam and immediately applied the Las Vegas Leglock for an easy victory.
Match 2: Tugboat and Chaz Vs. The Amazing French Canadians
Perhaps inspired by Idol’s alacrity, the Amazing French Canadians jumped Tugboat Taylor before Gary Michael Cappetta finished his introductions. Hitting the Tower of Quebec quickly, Jacques Rougeau seemed shocked that Tugboat managed to kick out at two. Despite Tugboat showing great toughness, this one was never really in doubt as Rougeau and Oullett isolated the senior Taylor and kept his son Chaz out of the ring. A double hot shot wasn’t enough to put Tugboat down for good, but a second Tower of Quebec was!
Match 3: Redd Dogg Vs. Tiger Conway Jr.
Both of these men were looking to get back into the win column after tough recent loses. This was a very even match up, with Redd Dogg’s power contrasting with Tiger’s agility. After ten hard fought minutes of back and forth action, Tiger Conway Jr. hit a series of huracanrana’s followed by a flying head butt to secure the three count and the win.
Next, it was time for the contract signing for the Sudanese Death Match between Abdullah the Butcher and former American Champion Bob Backlund. Abdullah was acompained to the contract signing by Mr. Fuji and American Champion Kurt Angle. Bob Backlund though had a surprise in store as he brought with him The Trooper! Fuji signed the contract on his man's behalf and Backlund did the same. ASAW matchmaker Teddy Long then surprised everyone by announceing that next week we would see a tag team match pitting The Trooper and Backlund against Angle and Abdullah!
Match 4: Thunderbolt Patterson Vs. Big Bully Busick
This was an ugly matchup, as the flashy brawler Patterson and the brick wall Busick just never found another gear. After warring down Big Bully with a seemingly endless series of double chops to the neck, Thunderbolt finally connected with his big head butt to secure a victory.
Match 5: Brian Myers Vs. Doug Somers
The “Most Professional Wrestler” and the “Pretty Boy” squared off next. As the match began Monsoon and Henan announced that Sommers and his partner Buddy Rose would be challenging Myers and his partner Matt Carson’s for the tag team championship in two weeks time. With vital momentum at stake, these two went at it with lots of hard hitting strokes from both men. Somers showed some great tenacity, as he kicked out of a pair of spears from Myers. But in the end, it was the sound fundamentals that Myers is known for that won the day, as he caught Somers with the Oklahoma roll for the win.
Before the next match, Monsoon and Hennan hyped the upcoming west coast tour for the All Stars of American Wrestling. Tour dates will include the LA and Bay areas in California, Portland Oregon, Las Vega Nevada, and St. George Utah.
Match 6: Dan Severn and The Fabulous Ones Vs. Red October
This was a tremendous matchup and a great debut for The Fabulous Ones. The Fabulous Ones started out hot, dominating Nikolai Volkoff of the Bolsheviks and using their double team tactics to score several near falls in the first few minutes of the match up. The burly Russian escaped and managed to tag in Alexis Smirnoff. From there, Red October had an impressive run, working over Dan “The Beast” Severn, but neither Smirnoff’s feared heart punch nor the Bolsheviks Soviet stomp was enough to put the UFC hall of famer down. Severn got the much needed tag out to Stan Lane of the Fabulous Ones, who combined with Steve Keirn for a double DDT on Borrus Zhukov for the win!
Main Event Number 1 Contenders match for the Television Championship British Bulldog Vs. Big Van Vader (with Jim Cornette)
These two big power houses met in a thrilling main event. The first shot at Tommy Rich’s Television championship on the line, Jim Cornette had been uncharacteristically complementary towards The British Bulldog on his podcast this week; even saying he’d love to manage Bulldog down the road. If that was an attempt to get into the Bulldog’s head, it didn’t work. Bulldog was ready to go toe to toe with Cornette’s mastodon. Vader started out strong and looked like he was going to cruise to an easy victory. But, to everyone’s shock, Bulldog kicked out after the release power bomb not once, but twice! Then, after getting the better of Vader in a brawl out of the ring, The British Bulldog connected with a running power slam and scored an impressive victory. With the win, British Bulldog is now positioned to be the first challenger to Wildfire Tommy Rich’s television championship.

Card for ASAW Week 12 It will be tag team turmoil this week, as four big tag team matches have been signed!
First, the Long Riders return to action!
Too Cool Vs. The Amazing French Canadians The French Canadians looked impressive in their win over the Taylors. This week they’ll face another Taylor; Scott Taylor and his partner Brian Christopher.
Austin Idol Vs. Jim Brunzell These men are looking to make an impact in the rankings with what promises to be a classic power Vs speed clash
The Fabulous Ones Vs. The Bolsheviks Stan Lane and Steve Keirn looked impressive in their six man tag team debut. They will try and keep that momentum going when they again tangle with Red October’s brutes.
Ranger Ross Vs. Big Bully Busick Busick tries to get back to his winning ways, going up against the always exciting Ranger Ross, who’s returning to action for the first time since Mega-Clash.
Hugh Morrus Vs. Jack Brisco Hugh Morrus requested this match after Brisco dominated him in a six man tag team match a couple of weeks ago. Will the laughing man save face, or will this be more of the same?
Main Event The Trooper & Bob Backlund Vs. American Champion Kurt Angle & Abdullah the Butcher with Mr. Fuji Former champion Backlund teams for the first time with the man who stands for law and order in ASAW, The Trooper. Aligned against them will be the reigning American champion and his barbaric enforcer, with the devious one in their corner.
Also, we’ll hear from Television champion Tommy “Wildfire” Rich and have an update on the condition of The American Males and their mysterious attackers.

All Stars of American Wrestling Week 12 From the WRAZ-TV Studios in Raleigh
Match 1: The Long Riders Vs. Kenny Jay Jake Milliman
We don’t know if there’s a secret betting pool in the back to see who can beat poor Kenny Jay the fastest, but if there is, the Long Riders staked their claim to it this week. The Sodbuster actually started out, trying to do some chain wrestling and putting Scott Irwin in an arm bar. Hog was having none of it, threw Kenny to the ground, stomped a mud hole in the Cleveland native, then hauled him up in the corner and hit the best Superplex in the business for an easy 1-2-3.
Next up, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan had an update on the situation that happened last week, where two unknown men had attacked the American Males in the parking lot, sending young Marcus Bagwell to the ER with severe contusions.
Monsoon reported that hundreds of tips had come into the ASAW security hotline, and thanks to the fans, the two mystery assailants had been identified as “The Moondogs”, a pair whom Monsoon described as “outlaw wrestlers”. Heenan speculated that Moondogs had been looking to make an impact and maybe get signed by ASAW. Monsoon agreed and said that it may have worked, as Bagwell’s partner Scotty Riggs has requested that ASAW matchmaker Theodore Long sign a match between the two teams as soon as possible. Long has yet to respond. Monsoon then threw the broadcast to the next match, already in progress.
Match 2: Too Cool Vs. The Amazing French Canadians
We picked up this match with the duo from Quebec working over Scott Taylor. Pierre and Jacques were using quick tags and their considerable power advantage to control the smaller Taylor, but when Jacques dropkicked Scotty from the ring, the tide turned quickly. Taylor used a drop toe toe hold to send Jacques into the time keeper’s table when the French Canadian came to retrieve Scott. Scott then tossed a stunned Jacques back into the ring and immediately hit the worm for a pinfall victory that shocked Pierre and left Jacques counting the ceiling tiles.
Match 3: Austin Idol Vs. Jim Brunzell
The Universal Heartthrob took on the high-flying Brunzell next. Brunzell has looked good in recent outings, and he came out on fire in this one. He connected early with his high flying dropkick for a near fall. Idol eventually got the upper hand, thanks to his power advantage. But Brunzell’s quickness was alway able to turn the tide. A second drop kick was all it took for Jumping Jim to get the win.
After the match, Monsoon hyped the west coast tour starting next week. Next week’s show would feature matches from ASAW’s Los Angles area debut at the Bren Events Center on the campus of UC Irvine, main evented by the tag team championship defense by Brian Myers and Matt Cardona against Buddy Rose and Doug Somers. During this, The Brain was apoplectic. He was worried that if The Moondogs could get a contract by attacking the American Males, some other “mud show wrestlers” might try and get a contract by attacking someone “important”… Namely himself. Monsoon seemed okay with this particular idea.
Match 4: the Fabulous Ones Vs. The Bolsheviks
The Fabulous Ones debuted in six man action against Red October last week, and looked impressive. This week, they continued to look impressive. This was a fantastic and fast paced match, with both teams looking good. Ultimately, the speed and tag team continuity of the Fabulous Ones was too much for The Bolsheviks, and the new comers got the win when Steve Keirn pinned Nikolai Volkoff after he and Stan Lane used the double hamstring pull on Volkoff.
After the match, Volkoff got on the mic and challenged Lane to a one-on-one match next week in Los Angles!
Match 5: Ranger Ross Vs. Big Bully Busick
Bully charged Ranger Ross in the middle of the introductions, and two started throwing hands in the middle of the ring. Ross got the better of the exchange and got off to a hot start! Sadly, that was all the offense for Ross, as Busick nearly decapitated the army veteran with a lariat coming out of the corner. From there, Busick used his patented Stump Puller to wear Ross down, then forced him to submit to a bear hug.
Before the next match, Lance Russell had an opportunity to interview Television champion Wildfire Tommy Rich! Rich thanked the fans for their support and congratulated The British Bulldog on winning a title opportunity by defeating Vader last week. This brought out the Bulldog, who thanked Rich for his kind words and asked when he would get his title shot. Rich stated it would happen in a main event on the upcoming western tour, but before the two fan-favorites could agree on a location, they were interrupted by Vader’s manager Jim Cornette. Cornette called Bulldog’s victory a fluke and called Rich a paper champion who had yet to defend his title. He challenged Rich on Vader’s behalf to a match next week in Los Angles! Rich said he’d be happy to fight Vader, but Bulldog had earned the first shot at the title. Cornette agreed to the match next week being non-title “so Vader can show everyone what will happen when he does get his shot”. Bulldog then pipped up and said he’d be in Rich’s corner to make sure Cornette didn’t try anything.
Match 6: Hugh Morrus Vs Jack Brisco
Hugh Morrus requested this match, feeling Brisco had humiliated him in a recent six man tag. You have to admire Morrus’ moxie, if not his decision making. This was all Brisco as the Oklahoman dominated Morrus from the opening bell. Give Morrus credit for toughness, as he escaped the rolling reverse cradle and survived the figure four leg lock before finally succumbing to the lateral guillotine.
Before the main event, Gordon Solie got a quick word with the team of Bob Backlund and The Trooper. Backlund spoke intensely about getting his hands on Abdullah the Butcher ahead of their Sudanese Death Match in two weeks. The Trooper gave a fiery patriotic speech about law, order, and the American way the really woke up the crowd and got them excited for the next match!
Main Event Bob Backlund & The Trooper Vs. American Champion Kurt Angle & Abdullah the Butcher (with Mr. Fuji)
The fired up Trooper went right after American champion Kurt Angle’s enforcer Abdullah the Butcher, rocking the mad man from the Sudan with big left hands. Abdullah tried to push the Trooper off and then charge him in the corner, only for the Trooper to dodge the charge and get the first near fall of the contest. The Trooper followed up with The Big Pinch, but Abdullah was too close to the ropes. After knocking down Abdullah with a running back elbow, the Trooper tagged in Backlund. Backlund, in an impressing display of power and leverage then suplexes Abdullah right out of the ring! Backlund pursued Abdullah to the outside, where Abdullah proceeded to hit Backlund with Mr. Fuji’s cane in plain view of the referee, resulting in a quick and unsatisfactory disqualification!
After the bell, the Butcher continued to assault Backlund. The Trooper moved to assist his partner, only to be chop blocked by Kurt Angle. Angle locked The Trooper in the ankle lock in the ring, while Abby batter Backlund with weapons on the outside. Dan Severn, Tommy Rich, and The Fabulous Ones came out to make the save, but it was too late as both Backlund and The Trooper needed help to get back to the locker room.

Card for ASAW Week 13 The All Stars of American Wrestling will make their greater Los Angeles area debut with a stacked card for the Bren Events Center in Irvine.
Ranger Ross will be in action!
Stan Lane (with Steve Keirn) Vs. Nikolai Volkoff (with Red October)
Volkoff issued the challenge and Stan Lane of the Fabulous Ones accepted. Lane will have his partner at ringside, but will the Bolsheviks have additional back up from Red October?
The Long Riders Vs. Too Cool
Both these teams are coming off impressive wins. The winner of this one could be the next challengers for the titles.
Dan Severn Vs. Alexis Smirnoff
Dan Severn is looking for a rematch with Ivan Koloff, but first he’ll have to get through the Red October leader’s enforcer.
Hugh Morrus & Big Bully Busick Vs. Thunderbolt Patterson & Jim Brunzell
All four of these men are trying to move up the rankings and break out of the middle of the pack. Will they be able to gel in tag team action?
Non-title match Television Champion “Wildfire” Tommy Rich (with The British Bulldog) Vs. Big Van Vader (with Jim Cornette)
Bulldog will face Wildfire later in the western states tour (reportedly there is a bit of a bidding war between the venues in Portland and St. George as to where will host that main event match). Before then, Bulldog will be in the champs corner for this non-title match, just to make sure the Mastodon and his manager don’t do anything untoward.
Main Event Tag Team Championship Match Champions Matt Cardona & Brian Myers Vs. “Playboy” Buddy Rose & “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers
Somers and Rose are undefeated in ASAW in traditional two-on-two tag team matches. They have parlayed that record into the position of being number one contenders. The champs, in addition to hosting their top rated toy podcast, have scored victories over the challengers in six man and singles action, and feel like momentum is on their side. It’s anyone’s to win with the titles on the line!

All Stars of American Wrestling Week 13 From the Bren Events Center in Irvine California
Match 1: Ranger Ross Vs George South
Ranger Ross got off to a hot start against journeyman George South. He dominated South with quick strikes and highflying moves, before using a series of martial arts strikes to get the pinfall victory.
In the ASAW studios, Lance Russell interviewed matchmaker Theodor Rufus Long. Long announced that, against his better judgement The Moondogs had been signed by the All Stars of American Wrestling. Long stated that since Marcus Bagwell had not yet been cleared after the Moondogs assault, the wild duo would be making their debut next week at the historic War Memorial Gymnasium in San Francisco against Tugboat and Chaz Taylor.
Match 2: Stan Lane Vs. Nikolai Volkoff
Lane was seconded to the ring by partner Steve Keirn, while Volkoff came out with the other three members of Red October: Ivan Koloff, Boris Zhukov, and Alexis Smirnoff. Referee Dick Woehrle wasn’t having it and before the bell even rang sent all 4 of the non-combatants back to the locker room, due to the lack of a manager’s license among them. Once the match got going, Lane tried to use his quickness advantage, going for a go-behind takedown. The massive Volkoff though reversed this, and from there it was a slow motion mugging. Volkoff brutalized Fabulous One Lane, grinding him down with bear hugs, taking his air with double thrusts, before putting Lane away with a series of backbreaker drops. Lane managed to kick out from the first one, but not the second.
After the match, back in the ASAW studios, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan gave an update on the status of the Trooper and Bob Backlund after the beat down they suffered at the hands of Abdullah the Butcher and Kurt Angle last week. Monsoon reported that both men were off this week, strictly as a precaution, and that both would be in action for ASAW’s debut in the Bay Area next week. Heenan speculated that neither would show next week since they were both too gutless to show up in LA this week.
Match 3: Too Cool Vs. The Long Riders
Both of these teams have been looking strong lately, and there’s little doubt this match could have an impact on the tag team rankings. The Scott’s started out against each other, and though Hog tried to run rough shot over his opponent, Scotty 2 Hotty was able to turn the tables quickly. After Scott Taylor got a near fall with a superkick, he tagged in Brian Christopher who soon hit Scott Irwin with a devastating sunset flip powerbomb out of the ring. Hog was able to make a defensive tag to his brother, and what followed was a long sequence of Christopher and Wild Bill trading big offensive moves with out either being able to keep the other down. After Christopher hit Bill with a devastating DDT, the Irwin brothers switched again. This soon proved the Long Riders undoing as Hog missed a leg drop, then collided with Christopher on a big clothesline in the corner. Grandmaster Sexay recovered first, climbed to the top and nailed the Hip Hop Drop for the win!
After the match, a video package aired promoting next week’s Sudanese Death Match between Abdullah the Butcher and Bob Backlund!
Match 4: Dan Severn Vs. Alexis Smirnoff
Dan Severn wants another match with Red October leader Ivan Koloff. The Russian Bear wants no part of The Beast and sent his enforcer Smirnoff to discourage the MMA Legend. Smirnoff proved no match though for Severn, who completely dominated Smirnoff with powerful throws and submission holds. In the end, Severn won with a fireman’s carry slam for the pin.
Match 5: Thunderbolt Patterson & Jim Brunzell Vs. Big Bully Busick & Hugh Morrus
All four of these men have been grinding their way up the rankings lately, and tonight they formed a pair of odd couple tag teams. The Laughing Man and the anachronistic Busick seemed to mesh well, their personalities lining up. On the other side of the ring, Brunzell and Patterson were a classic mixture of speed and power. Bully and Morrus took over the action early, working over Brunzell. Being the smallest man in the match, Brunzell found himself at a constant power disadvantage. Though he managed to turn the tables on Morrus and Busick several times, it was almost as though Brunzell kept forgetting he had a partner he could tag in and the dastardly duo would take back control. Finally, Brunzell seemingly remembered he had a partner and made the hot tag to Patterson. Thunderbolt immediately resumed his hostilities with Busick and quickly put the pride of Weirton West Virginia down with the head butt!
Before the next match, Lance Russell was joined back in the WRAZ-TV studios by American champion Kurt Angle and the champion’s manager Mr. Fuji. Angle kept it short and simple, saying that the beating The Trooper and Bob Backlund took last week was just a taste of what was in store for them. The champion issued a challenge to The Trooper to show up next week when ASAW debuted in San Francisco for a match against the champ. Mr. Fuji was quick to add that it would be non-title.
Match 6: Non-Title Match Television Champion Tommy Rich (with The British Bulldog) Vs Big Van Vader (with Jim Cornette)
Right out of the gate, Television champion Tommy Rich went right after Vader, and rocked the big man back on his heels in a way we’d not seen anyone do to Cornette’s Mastodon before. Vader, showing the toughness he’s renowned for, survived early attempts to put him away with the Wildfire Sleeper and the Thesz Press. Vader managed to take control after he caught Wildfire coming off the top rope. Vader scored a near fall after connecting with a front slam, and another after hitting Rich with an impressive moonsault. Soon after, the action spilled out of the ring. While Rich and Vader brawled around the ring, The British Bulldog, who won the right to challenge Rich for the Television title, snuck up from behind and attacked Rich with a steel chair!
The fans rained down boos as Vader, Cornette and Bulldog put the boots to the downed champion. Bulldog and Cornette embraced and raised Vader’s hand in victory, though officially the match ended in a disqualification victory for Rich. A sneering Bulldog showed his true colors as he hit Rich one more time with the chair before ASAW officials separated the sinister trio from the champion.
Main Event Tag Team Championship match “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers & “Playboy” Buddy Rose Vs. Champions Matt Cardona & Brian Myers
This brief match was one sided and ended in disappointment. Myers started out hot, catching Somers with a dropkick, a Pele kick, and then Myers and Cardona hit the Pretty Boy with a tandem Russian Leg Sweep/STO maneuver three times in a row! After the third one, Somers rolled on to the ring apron, where Myers hit him with a spear through the ring ropes! Somers landed hard and awkwardly on the arena floor and was seemingly knocked out. With the count out loss, Myers and Cardona retain the tag team titles.
A clearly furious Rose yelled at a celebrating that Cardona that this wasn’t over while attending to his partner.

From attacking him in his debut, to costing him the American Championship, to assaulting him with weapons, Abdullah has been bringing the violence. In San Francisco, Backlund gets the chance to give some back in a match type that should be in the Butcher’s ballpark: the first ever Sudanese Death Match!
