Really, really like the whole “How we got here” stuff. Really enjoyed that. Thank you for reading. My plan is to include that as a recap on each supercard, to make catching up easier for casual readers.

All Stars of American Wrestling Week 14 From the War Memorial Gymnasium in San Francisco, California.
Match 1: Tiger Conway Jr. Vs. Jake “The Milkman” Milliman
This was no walk in the park for Tiger Conway Jr. Milliman gave as good as he got. And scored a near upset with a second rope head butt. But the Milkman couldn’t quiet deliver the upset, falling to the flying head butt.
On the interview stage, Lance Russell welcomed the number one contender to the Television title, Davey Boy Smith. Smith was accompanied by Jim Cornette and the mastodon Vader. Smith barely got two words out before Television champion “Wildfire” Tommy Rich came out, still sporting a bandage on his forehead from the assault these three men perpetrated against him last week. Rich issued a challenge to Smith for a fight right now, but Cornette wasn’t having it. The loud mouth manager suggested a tag team match in Portland next week, if Rich can find a partner. Rich accepted, saying he had just the right partner in mind.
Match 2: Chaz & Tugboat Taylor Vs. The Moondogs
The Moondogs, a pair of wild men from parts unknown, made an immediate impact on the tag division by attacking the American Males before they even had a contract in ASAW. In San Francisco, they made their in ring debut against the always game Taylors, Tugbaot and Chaz. The Taylor family gave it their all, but it seemed like the Moondogs were impervious to pain as they just mowed through Chaz. In the end, Moondog Spot nailed young Chaz with a large bone while the referee wasn’t looking and pinned the junior Taylor for the win.
After the match, back in the ASAW studios, Gorilla Monsoon introduced a statement from Bob Backlund. Backlund spoke eloquently and intensely about tonight’s main event. Backlund acknowledged Abdullah the Butcher’s legendary capacity for violence, but said that they had just begun to see what Bob Backlund was capable of.
Match 3: Boris Zhukov (with Alexis Smirnoff) Vs. Steve Keirn (with Dan Severn)
Last week, referee Dick Woehrle sent these men back to the locker room before their partners locked horns. This week, referee James Beard let the seconds stay. While last week was a rather one sided affair, this was a hard hitting back and forth match up. The end seemed near when Keirn locked Zhukov in a figure four leg lock, but Alexis Smirnoff distracted the referee. This led Beard to eject Smirnoff. That seemed to spell the end for Zhukov as soon Keirn connected with a flying forearm for the win.
After the match, Severn was congratulating Keirn, when suddenly he was attacked from behind by Red October’s leader Ivan Koloff! Koloff battered Severn with his feared Russian chain, choking the UFC legend with it before Keirn could grab a chair and chase off the Russian menace. Severn required medical attention after the brutal assault.
In the ASAW studios, while medics tended to Severn, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan introduced a match that had been recorded earlier in the evening, which Monsoon described as “a main event anywhere in the country!”
Match 4: Redd Dogg Vs. Johnny Rodz
Redd Dogg, who’s racked up an impressive string of victories in these usually untelevised preliminary matches, handily beat Rodz, putting him away with the Blackout. Dogg seems ready to face stiffer competition.
Before the next match, back in the ASAW studios, Gorilla and Heenan announced the second All Stars of American Wrestling Supercard, Americana, would be coming from the Paycom Center in beautiful Oklahoma City in just six weeks. While the main event was still to be determined, one big match has already been signed. A four corners elimination match for a future American championship title match will pit Jim Brunzell, Jack Brisco, Thunderbolt Patterson, and Austin Idol against each other.
Match 5: Thunderbolt Patterson Vs. Austin Idol
With the announcement that these two men would be in the four corners match at Americana, this match had an extra layer. Patterson has been white hot of late, and tonight was no different. Idol made a fundamental error, in fighting Patterson’s type of match. The charismatic brawler out punched and out chopped the Universal Heartthrob and, after a couple of near falls with his waistlock atomic drop, Patterson got the win with a head butt!
Match 6: Non-Title Match American Champion Kurt Angle (with Mr. Fuji) Vs The Trooper
Kurt Angle was clearly in a foul mood going into this match, upset at ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta for announcing Angle as “the American champion” instead of “your American champion”. With Angle threatening the ring announcer, The Trooper took the opportunity to attack the champion! The Trooper went hard at Angle and tried to catch the Olympic medal winner early, connecting with the Big Pinch right out of the gate! For the first several minutes, The Trooper had everyone in the War Memorial Gymnasium thinking they were going to see a major upset. An Alabama Slam for another near fall and a second application of the Big Pinch and it almost happened. But against your American champion it only takes one mistake. The Trooper went for a power slam but Angle dropped behind and hit a German suplex! Angle took over then, and used body scissors and a sleeper hold (along with some aggressive European uppercuts) to grind the Trooper down. Angle then turned up the aggression, hitting the Trooper with a power bomb and then the Angle slam! Angle made a lazy cover, and the Trooper kicked out. Angle hit a second Angle slam, and this time made a good lateral press but still didn’t hook the leg, and the Trooper kicked out again! A frustrated Angle screamed at the referee about a slow count, then hit three overhead belly to belly suplexes in a row. A third Angle slam followed, and this time Angle hooked the far leg. And again, The Trooper kicked out! The crowd roared in support of the Trooper while an apoplectic Angle slammed his fists on the mat. Angle hit the Trooper with a power slam and then went to go back to basics, looking to again grind the Trooper down with a body scissors and a sleeper, but the Trooper powered out! With the crowd cheering him on, The Trooper hit a standing drop kick, a series of big left hands, and then sent Angle into the corner. The Trooper charged the champion, who moved out of the way! The Trooper went down hard and Angle pinned him with a double leg cradle, putting his foot on the ropes for extra leverage and getting the three count!
Before the next match, Gordon Solie interviewed “Playboy” Buddy Rose. Rose expressed disgust at how, after his partner Doug Somers had been knocked out with what Rose called a “fluke” move, the tag team champions (who are now calling themselves “The Major Players”) celebrated like they had actually accomplished something. Ross let everyone know that Doug was cleared to compete next week, when ASAW makes its debut in Rose’s hometown of Portland Oregon. Rose stated he and Somers were promised a rematch by Teddy Long and they were taking advantage of it next week in Portland.
Main Event Sudanese Death Match Bob Backlund Vs. Abdullah the Butcher (with Mr. Fuji No one was quiet sure what to expect in the Sudanese death match, but this match did not disappoint. This was a wild and bloody affair that saw the two men brawl all around the ring, into the crowd, and even at one point out into the parking lot! Through the madness, two clear strategies seemed to emerge. Backlund seemingly wanted to use submission holds to wear down the mad man from the Sudan. Backlund used two different submission holds, a Boston crab to attack the big man’s vertical base, and the dreaded cross face chicken wing to try and put the human tomato juice dispenser down. Abdullah’s strategy was much simpler: hit Backlund with anything that wasn’t nailed down. Chairs. Pipes. The time keepers bell. Mr. Fuji’s cane. Everything and anything was used against the former American champion. In the end, it was Abdullah who’s violent approach won the day. After what seemed like the 15th shot with Fuji’s now broken cane, Backlund was unable to answer the referee’s count and Abdullah the Butcher was declared the winner.

Thank you for reading! Patterson has been white hot since I started this fed. Backlund/Abby was one of the most fun matches I've played in years, all credit to the new ringside companion.

All Stars of American Wrestling Week 15 From Viking Pavilion in Portland Oregon
Match 1: Ivan Koloff Vs. Frogman LeBlanc
The leader of Red October returned to action, laying a beating on the debuting Frogman. Koloff picked up the win with a Russian Sickle in a one sided and short affair.
On the interview stage, Gordon Solie grabbed a quick word with Koloff. Koloff stated that him and Dan Severn were on a collision course for a match at Americana. But the match would be on Koloff’s terms, and it would be a Russian Chain match!
Match 2: The American Males Vs. The Amazing French Canadians
The American Males were hot, having missed several weeks of action due to being attacked by The Moondogs. They took that frustration out of the duo from Quebec, dominating from the opening bell. The young men from Georgia isolated and double teamed Pierre, then put him away with a back elbow ram for the win.
After the match, Bagwell and Riggs spoke with Gordon Solie. They challenged The Moondogs to a fight, any place, any time!
Match 3: Redd Dogg Vs. Ranger Ross
Redd Dogg has been trying to build momentum, trying to climb out of the undercard. Ranger Ross wasn’t having it though. This was an evenly matched battle, but in the end, the veteran from Acworth Georgia used a flurry of karate strikes to put the Dogg down.
After the match, back in the ASAW studios, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon announced the main events for the final two stops on the All Stars of American Wrestling’s west coast tour. First, in Las Vegas Nevada’s Cox Pavilion will be a ten man tag team match where in The American Males, The Fabulous Ones, and Dan “The Beast” Severn teaming up to face The Moon Dogs and Red October’s Bolsheviks and Alexis Smirnoff. Then, in two weeks, St. George Utah’s Burns Arena will host the Television title match between champion “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Davey Boy Smith!
Match 4: “Jumping” Jim Brunzell Vs. Hugh Morrus
The laughing man picked up the biggest win of his ASAW career when he defeated Jim Brunzell here tonight. Brunzell never got his engine running, as Morrus took over from the opening bell. Morrus stunned Jim with a running lariat, then softened up his opponent with several power bombs, then sealed the deal with No Laughing Matter.
Before the next match, Gordon Solie was joined by Television title holder, “Wildfire” Tommy Rich. Rich introduced his partner, Portland area legend Dutch Savage!
Match 5: Dutch Savage & Television Champion “Wildfire” Tommy Rich Vs. Davey Boy Smith & Big Van Vader (with Jim Cornette)
Camp Cornette looked to have a significant power advantage over their opponents, but Wildfire and Dutch Savage had too much heart. Dutch withstood an early onslaught from Smith, which saw the number one contender for the Television title repeatedly drop Savage face first into the turnbuckle. Savage, in front of his home town crowd, rallied and made the tag to Rich. Rich quickly got a near fall on Smith with the Thesz Press. Rich tagged Savage back in, and Dutch nailed Smith with a thumb to the throat. Smith made a desperate tag to Vader and Cornette’s mastodon quickly payed waste to Savage. A front slam and a suplex each got a near fall. Vader balled Savage with a running body avalanche, but Dutch fell back to the corner and made the tag to Wildfire. Soon, Rich stunned Vader with the Thesz Press and got the three count and the win!
While Rich and Savage celebrated, Vader and Smith recovered and attacked the victorious duo. Smith tossed Savage from the ring and Vader picked up Rich and hit a devastating release power bomb. Vader than picked Rich up and hit another!
Match 6: Jack Brisco Vs Big Bully Busick
Jack Brisco continues to rack up the victories, this time making short work of Big Bully Busick, putting away the man with the best mustache in wrestling with the figure four leglock.
Before the next match, back in the ASAW studio, Lance Russell welcomed “your” American Champion, Kurt Angle and his manager, Mr. Fuji. The big news here was the Kurt Angle would be making his first defense of the American championship at Americana in Oklahoma City. With just five weeks to go to the super show, everyone wants to know who will get this shot at Angle’s gold. Angle said he’d face whom ever match maker Theodore Rufus Long chose… So long as that person wasn’t The Trooper.
Main Event Tag Team Title Match “Playboy” Buddy Rose & “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers Vs. Champions The Major Players
The map may have said “Portland” but this match took place in bizarro world. The Major Players, normally two of the most popular stars in ASAW, were boo’ed mercilessly, while Buddy Rose, the self-described “Prince of Portland Wrestling” was cheered thunderously. Where as the first title match between these two teams ended quickly on a fluky injury, this was a much more even match up. Rose took a lot of punishment from Myers and Cardona, kicking out from Myers’ spear, the Long Island Express, and the champ’s Russian leg sweep/inverted STO combo. Rose rallied and he and Somers got several near falls on Myers. The finish of this match saw Myers battling Somers. The Most Professional Wrestler climbed to the top turnbuckle and came off with a high-cross body, but “Pretty Boy” Somers rolled through and scored the pinfall victory while Rose prevented Cardona from breaking it up. #AndNew
