All Stars of American Wrestling Week 19 From The WRAZ-TV Studios in Raleigh North Carolina
Non-title match Match 1: Frogman LaBlanc Vs. American Champion Kurt Angle
A few weeks ago, Kurt Angle attempted to name Frogman LaBlanc as his challenger at Americana. That spot instead went to The Patriot. So tonight, “your” American champion came out to give us the match we were “robbed” of. Angle dismantled Frogman in about 80 seconds, easily defeating the journeyman with his Olympic Slam.
After the match, Kurt Angle spoke to Gordon Solie. Angle promised to walk in to Americana as your American champion and walk out the same way.
Match 2: Austin Idol Vs. Ranger Ross
No one was getting paid by the hour tonight. Austin Idol made short work of Ranger Ross, putting him away quickly with a sleeper hold in a one sided match up.
After the match, Lance Russell hosted the final Americana Update. Lance went over the card one last time: Kurt Angle will defend the American championship against The Patriot, Bob Backlund will battle Abdullah the Butcher in a loser leaves town cage match, Dan Severn faces Ivan Kolloff in a Russian chain match, Jack Brisco, Austin Idol, Thunderbolt Patterson, and Jim Brunzell will face off in a four corners elimination match to determine the next challenger for the American championship, “Wildfire” Tommy Rich takes on Vader, Dutch Savage challenges Davey Boy Smith, ten teams meet in a battle royal to determine the number one contenders to the tag team championships held by “Playboy” Buddy Rose and “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers, and the newest All Stars of American Wrestling tag team The New Rockers will debut!
Match 3: “Jumping” Jim Brunzell Vs. Redd Dogg
Jim Brunzell had a much harder time than Idol in his final tune up match. Going against the always game Redd Dogg, Brunzell struggles some against the Lafayette LA native. But in the end, Brunzell connected with not one but two of his high flying dropkicks for the win.
Before the next match, Gordon Solie interviewed Thunderbolt Patterson. While talking about the upcoming match, Hugh Morrus confronted Patterson. With Morrus holding Thunderbolt’s attention, Morrus’ partner Big Bully Busick snuck up behind Patterson with a chair. Busick swung at Patterson, but Thunderbolt ducked. Busick mistakenly hit Morrus with the chair! Thunderbolt than head butted Busick and tossed Morrus into the ring.
Match 4: Thunderbolt Patterson Vs. Hugh Morrus
Double thrust. Head butt. 1-2-3. Your winner, Thunderbolt Patterson
After the match, at the broadcast desk, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan marveled at the quick victories tonight by Patterson, Idol, and Angle. Brain stated that he thought Idol would win the four corner elimination match at Americana and asked Gorilla for his pick. When Gorilla picked Jack Brisco, Brain suggested they bet $20 on it, prompting Gorilla to say “Will you stop!”
Match 5: Dan “The Beast” Severn Vs. Nikolai Volkoff
In the past few weeks, Severn has defeated the other members of Red October, sending a message to the Russians to stay out of the chain match between himself and the “First Among Equals” Ivan Koloff. The only one left in his way was the hulking Volkoff. Volkoff gave Severn more of a fight than his Bolshevik partner Zhukov did, more than matching the MMA Hall of Famer’s power. But Volkoff couldn’t compete with Severn’s ground game. After getting the big Russian down, Severn used the bow and arrow and the armbar to wear down Nikolai and then put him away with the fireman’s carry slam.
After the match, Lance Russell got a few words with Severn. Very few, as they were almost immediately interrupted by Nikolai Volkoff of Red October. Volkoff challenged Severn to a match next week, which Severn accepted.
Match 6: Jack Brisco Vs Big Bully Busick
This was a hard hitting affair, as Brisco had the technique and speed advantage, while Busick had the strength and weight advantage. Brisco got a gutsy victory with the gut wrench backbreaker in a match that, while Busick put up a tough fight, never really seemed in doubt. With Brisco’s win here, all four participants in the elimination four corners match at Americana are heading into the supershow with momentum!
Before the main event, Lance Russell conducted an interview with Tiger Conway Jr. Conway admitted than he felt embarrassed by his loss last week to George South. Not for himself, because “anyone can have a bad day at the office” but because he worried that the loss reflected badly on his family name. Conway said he had requested and been granted a rematch against South in week 21, and would attempt to redeem his family name.
Main Event Dutch Savage Vs. Big Van Vader (with Jim Cornette)
Vader manhandled Savage for most of this match, though the Portland area legend had a few bright spots. Stunning Vader with kicks and stomps. The action spilled out of the ring and, as often seems to happen for Cornette’s mastodon, Vader got himself disqualified. That result means that the match At Americana between Dutch and Vader’s Camp Cornette cohort Davey Boy Smith will be for Smith’s Television championship!
After the match, Vader continued the attack against Dutch, perhaps looking to injure Savage the same way he did Tommy Rich. But, before too much damage could be done, “Wildfire” Tommy Rich raced out and chased of Vader and Cornette.

All Stars of American Wrestling AMERICANA Supershow From The Paycom Center in Oklahoma
Match 1: The New Rockers Vs. Frogman LaBlanc and Johnny Rodz
How we got here: After losing the tag team titles to “Playboy” Buddy Rose and “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers, The Major Players announced they’d be taking some time away from the ring to focus on running their toy business. This left a roster spot open for a tag team. Matchmaker Teddy Long invited the New Rockers into the territory on a short term contract; this is their debut.
Results: the handsome and exciting duo of Jannetty and Snow made quick work of Frogman and Rodz. Jannetty softened up LaBlanc with a monkey flip and running knee lift, then brought in Snow who sealed the victory with his “Snow plow” modified slam. The New Rockers looked impressive in their debut.
Match 2: “Wildfire” Tommy Rich Vs. Big Van Vader (with Jim Cornette)
How we got here: Coming out of the Mega-Clash Supercard, Tommy Rich was the inaugural Television champion and Jim Cornette’s Mastodon was looking for a shot at the gold. Vader lost the number one contender’s match to Davey Boy Smith, but gained a stablemate as Smith turned one Rich and the fans to join Camp Cornette. In a tag team match on the western states tour, Vader injured Rich, an injury that contribute to him losing the Television championship to Smith and put these two men on a collision course.
Results: Vader had injured Rich several weeks ago, and it quickly became clear that Rich was still recovering. Vader dominated the game former television champion, crushing him with a corner splash and then finishing him with a power slam to get a big, decisive victory.
Match 3: Number One Contenders Tag Team Battle Royal American Males Amazing French Canadians Fabulous Ones Bolsheviks Too Cool Long Riders Tugboat & Chaz Taylor Moondogs Jake Milliman & Kenny Jay Big Bully Busick & Hugh Morrus
How we got here: With Cardona & Myers opting to take some time off rather than invoke their rematch clause, it left new tag team champions Somers & Rose with out challengers. Match maker Teddy Long set up this battle royal with the winners earning the first shot at the new champions.
Results: the final six participants included Stan Lane, Scotty Riggs, Brian Christopher, both Irwin Brothers, and Surprisingly Jake Milliman. The Milkman’s run came quickly to an end though as the other five each tee’d off on him before Stan Lane hit Milliman with a Savate Kick that sent the Milkman tumbling over the top rope! The three fan favorites then turn their attention to the Long Riders. Christopher, Riggs, and Lane took turns double teaming Hog Irwin, while the third man kept Wild Bill occupied. This approach worked well and Christopher kept Bill from saving his brother from elimination after Riggs and Lane hit him with a double back elbow. The alliance held out a little while longer as the three fan favorites worked together to quickly toss Wild Bill soon after his brother, but almost as soon as he and Lane had thrown out Irwin, Scotty Riggs tried to toss Lane! Riggs hit Lane with the Ameriplex, but it was Christopher who scooped Lane up and tossed him out to the floor. It was down to Brian Christopher and Scotty Riggs; and fans didn’t have to wait long to see who would come out on top. Christopher very quickly got the final elimination, tossing Riggs after hitting his top rope leg drop. With the victory, Christopher and his partner Scott Taylor have earned a shot at tag team champions Rose & Somers.
Order of elimination: 1. Kenny Jay by Jacques 2. Steve Keirn by the Bolsheviks 3. Hugh Morrus by Tugboat 4. Big Bully Busick by Tugboat 5. Marcus Bagwell by Moondog Rex 6. Pierre by Stan Lane 7. Chaz Taylor by Scott Taylor and Stan Lane 8. Tugboat Taylor by Scott Taylor and Stan Lane 9. Nikolai Volkoff by Moondog Spot 10. Boris Zhukov by Jacques 11. Jacques by Zhukov 12. Moondog Rex by Scott Taylor 13. Scott Taylor by Moondog Spot 14. Moondog Spot by Jake Milliman 15. Jake Milliman by Stan Lane 16. Hog Irwin by Stan Lane and Scotty Riggs 17. Bill Irwin by Stan Lane and Scotty Riggs 18. Stan Lane by Brian Christopher 19. Scotty Riggs by Brian Christopher
Television Title Match Match 4: Dutch Savage Vs. Champion Davey Boy Smith (with Jim Cornette)
How we got here: Savage debuted when ASAW’s western tour came to his home territory of Portland. Savage teamed with Rich to defeat Camp Cornette in tag team action. After also winning his singles debut Savage challenged Smith to a match at Americana. After Smith won the Television title, Savage defeated Vader by disqualification to make this match a title match.
Results: this was a wild one. Smith, making his first defense, seemed on his way to an easy victory; getting a near fall on a Superplex and then connecting with his feared running powerslam. But somehow Savage kicked out at two and a half. It was at that point that things unraveled for Smith. Smith took the match outside, where Savage gained the upper hand in a ferocious brawl. Savage sent Smith back into the ring and hit his running piledriver for a close two count. Where Smith lost his composure after Savage survived his finisher, Dutch kept his cool, hit the move a second time and got the three count to become the Television champion! #AndNew!
Match 5: Russian Chain match Dan “The Beast” Severn Vs. “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff
How we got here: in the weeks after Mega-Clash, Severn and Koloff faced off in a televised main event. Koloff cheated his way to victory and laid a beating on Severn with the help of his Red October faction. Since then, Severn has been looking for a rematch with Koloff and has beaten every member of Red October on the way to it. Uncle Ivan added the twist though, if Severn wanted his rematch, it would be in a Russian chain match!
Results: Ivan Koloff has lost a Russian Chain match! In a brutal, back and forth affair, a bloodied and beaten Severn managed to eek out a victory. Though Koloff touched three of the four turnbuckles twice after hitting Severn with the Russian Sickle, the MMA hall of Famer dug deep and prevented Koloff from touching the pivotal fourth corner. Severn then turned the tables on Uncle Ivan and used a chain assisted choke sleeper to leave Koloff unconscious. Severn than dragged himself to all four corners and touched them all to be declared the winner.
Match 6: Number One Contender’s Four Corners Elimination Match Jack Brisco Vs Jim Brunzell Vs Thunderbolt Patterson Vs Austin Idol
How we got here: All four of these men have been impressing fans and ASAW officials alike with hard fought wins over the past two months. To reward them, matchmaker Long set up this four corners elimination match, with the winner getting the next shot at the American championship.
Results: the fast and furious action of this one started out with Thunderbolt Patterson squaring off against Jack Brisco, but didn’t stay that way for long. The first five minutes saw everyone tagging in and out with everyone. Perhaps surprisingly, it was Jumping Jim Brunzell who was the first to really be isolated, as the the other three participants worked over Brunzell; trying to wear down the high-flyer. Though Brisco got a couple of near falls on Jim, Brunzell turned the tables on Austin Idol, nailed the Universal Heartthrob with his patented drop kick, and scored the first elimination! Brunzell continued on a roll as Thunderbolt Patterson came in to the match. After a few minutes of back and forth action, Patterson got caught with a high cross body that seemed to knock the wind out of him. Patterson kicked out from the high cross, but moments later fell to the famed Brunzell drop kick for the second elimination! A fresh Brisco then came in and immediately went to work grounding the high-flying Brunzell with knee breakers and a selection of suplexes. In the end, the mat expertise was too much for Brunzell and Brisco put him away with a rolling reverse cradle for the win.
After the match, Brisco shook Brunzell’s hand and the OKC crowd cheered his gutsy performance.
Co-Main Event American Championship Match The Patriot Vs. Kurt Angle (with Mr. Fuji)
How we got here: Since winning the American championship at Mega-Clash, “Your” American Champion Kurt Angle has yet to defend it; siting a lack of worthy challengers. One potential challenger was The Trooper, who showed his patriotic fibers by defeating Red October at Mega-Clash and then stepping up to team with former champion Bob Backlund to take on Angle and his goon Abdullah the Butcher. Angle did defeat the Trooper in singles action, but had to cheat to do so. Angle then stated he’d defend the title here at Americana (once most of the roster was already signed to matches). The one caveat Angle placed on the match was that he wouldn’t defend the title against The Trooper, siting his tainted victory over the lawman as proof of his unworthiness as a challenger. That’s when Teddy Long introduced Angle’s opponent, The Patriot; a red, white, and blue clad masked man with the same build and style as the Trooper.
Results: Right out of the gate, the Patriot brought the fans at the Paycom center to their feet. Within moments of the bell, Patriot hit “your” American champion with a standing dropkick, a massive clothesline, and an Uncle Slam for 3 near falls! Soon though, Angle showed why he’s the top champion in the All-Stars of American Wrestling. Angle took over and used his dreaded ankle lock to wear down the Patriot. Patriot showed tremendous heart and international fortitude, escaping the ankle lock on four separate occasions! Patriot also survived a near fall off of an Olympic Slam and escaped a scorpion leg lock. But the fifth time Angle applied the ankle lock, this time in the dead center of the ring, the masked man had no choice but to submit. #AndStill
Co-Main Event Loser Leaves Town Cage Match Bob Backlund Vs Abdullah the Butcher (with Mr. Fuji)
How we got here: from the moment of his arrival in ASAW, Abdullah the Butcher has targeted Bob Backlund. Abdullah’s interference cost Backlund the third and deciding fall against Angle at Mega-Clash; and with it the American Championship. On the western states tour, in San Francisco, these two met in the wildest and most violent main event in ASAW history, the Sudanese Death Match! Coming out of that match, Backlund issues the challenge for this high stakes match.
Results: As one might expect, given the men involved and the history between them, this was a bloody and brutal affair. Former American champion Backlund seemed to be repeating his strategy from the Sudanese Death Match, attacking the madman’s vertical base with the Boston crab. With out access to the plunder used to secure victory in the Death Match, Abby had a much simpler strategy: smash Bob Backlund into the steel cage until he stopped moving. Of the two strategies, it was Backlund’s that proved superior! The former champ wore down Abdullah and then locked in the crossface chicken wing to force Abdullah to submit! With the victory, Backlund has avenged his title loss and banished Mr. Fuji’s monster from ASAW!

Card for ASAW Week 21 With Americana in the rear view mirror, the All-Stars of American Wrestling hit the road for a Midwestern tour! First stop: the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka Kansas
Thunderbolt Patterson will be in action.
Tiger Conway Jr. Vs. George South
Two weeks after a stunning upset victory by South, these two will meet in a rematch that will see the young Tiger trying to reassert his family’s good name!
Steve Regal Vs. Redd Dogg
Matchmaker Teddy Long, with a goal of making sure the Midwestern tour is full of first time ever match ups, has announced a “New All-Stars Initiative”. The first name debuting as part of it is no stranger to Midwestern fans, “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal. His opponent is the rough and ready Redd Dogg, who is reportedly not too happy about having been left off the card for Americana.
The New Rockers Vs. The Bolsheviks
Having made an impressive debut at Americana, Al Snow and Marty Jannetty look to up their level of competition as they take on the stout Soviet strongmen.
Jim Brunzell Vs. Austin Idol
Austin Idol wants another shot at the man who eliminated him from the four corner’s match, and if there’s one thing Americana showed us, it’s that Jim Brunzell backs down from no challenge.
Tugboat Taylor (with Chaz) Vs. Big Bully Busick (with Hugh Morrus)
This match comes straight out of the results of Americana where Tugboat Taylor eliminated both Busick and his some times partner Morrus. Can everyone’s favorite father figure get one over on the bully again?
Main Event Tag Team Title Match Too Cool Vs. Champions “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers & “Playboy” Buddy Rose
Tag team champions Rose and Somers make their first title defense against the winners of the Americana tag team battle royal, Too Cool!
Plus: “Your” American Champion Kurt Angle has announced his intention to hold a special “Championship celebration” in Topeka. And a major television championship match announcement!

All Stars of American Wrestling Week 21 From the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka KS
Match 1: Thunderbolt Patterson Vs. Johnny Rodz
Johnny Rodz came to fight! Perhaps fired up by not getting into the ring at Americana or maybe inspired by George South’s big win two weeks ago, the journeyman showed everyone he’s no tomato can. Unfortunately for Rodz, his his tremendous fighting spirit wasn’t enough to over come the brawling expertise of Patterson. Patterson weathered Rodz early flurry of offense, then wore him down with ferocious body blows and his crushing right uppercut, then put Rodz down with the double thrust.
After the match, Patterson shook Rodz hand in a sign of respect.
Match 2: “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal Vs. Redd Dogg
Debuting as a part of match maker Teddy Long’s “New All-Star Initiative”, “Mr Electricity” Steve Regal was hoping to get a big win to start his ASAW run. Redd Dogg though had other ideas. The tough guy from Lafayette pounced on the much smaller Regal and battered the Junior heavyweight. Redd Dogg got a near fall with a running power slam and also coming off the top rope with an impressive cross body block from a man his size. Then, Redd Dogg put Regal down with the Blackout for a statement win.
Lance Russell then welcomed newly crowned Television champion Dutch Savage! Savage barely got two words out before being interrupted by former champion Davey Boy Smith and his manager Jim Cornette. Cornette ran his mouth, putting down Savage, match maker Teddy Long, Russell, Russell’s tailor, the fans in Topeka and the mothers of the fans in Topeka, all before Savage could tell at him to shut up! Russell was able to restore some order by announcing that match maker Teddy Long had signed a Television championship rematch between Savage and Smith two weeks from now in the Twin Cities!
Match 3: The New Rockers Vs The Bolsheviks
The Bolsheviks are all that remain of the once fearsome Red October stable, Dan Severn having chased off Ivan Koloff and Alexis Smirnoff. But even with out their Soviet allies, the Bolsheviks looked fearsome here. The smaller and energetic New Rocker bounced helplessly off of Volkoff, who did his best impression of the iron curtain as he stood in the ring, seemingly immovable. Finally tired of Jannetty and Snow leaping and running around, Volkoff nailed snow with a running stomp and then a backbreaker drop for an easy victory over the newly arrived duo.
In the ASAW studios, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan marveled at the strength displayed by Volkoff and wondered if he might be the strongest man in ASAW. The Brain though suddenly broke down laughing, before apologizing and saying that he was just remembering Tiger Conway Jr losing to George South. Monsoon told Brain to stop it because that rematch was next!
Match 4: Tiger Conway Jr (with Tiger Conway Sr) Vs. George South
After a surprising and somewhat embarrassing loss to South two weeks ago, young Tiger Conway Jr asked for this rematch. He also surprised everyone by bringing his father Tiger Conway Sr out to ringside with him! Things started off cordially with a hand shake, which was quickly followed up by Tiger Jr hitting a massive running lariat that knocked South from the ring. An odd turn off events then saw Tiger Sr and South begin to argue at ring side. There seemed to be some bad blood between the two as the exchange got heated. So heated that South did not see Tiger Jr come over the top rope with a spinning corkscrew dive that laid South out! Tiger Jr got into the ring and he and his father arrogantly counted along with the referee, clearly expecting to win by count out. To their shock, George South got back into the ring at 9. Tiger Jr then went on a tear, repeatedly hitting South with the huracanrana, then finally nailing South with the flying head butt for the win!
After the match, Tiger Sr climbed into the ring and hit South with his quadruple head butt, then held South in place as Tiger Jr hit South with the diving head butt repeatedly. Johnny Rodz ran out to try and come to South’s aid, and he also was on the receiving end of Tiger Sr’s quadruple head butt! It was only when Thunderbolt Patterson and Steve Regal ran out that the Conway’s stopped their assault and left the ring, but they proceeded to trash the time keeper’s area while medics attended to Rodz and a bloody and battered South.
Back in the ASAW studios, The Brain’s attitude toward Tiger Conway Jr and his father, praising their viciousness and saying “can you believe some people laughed at this young man?” Monsoon rolled his eyes and, while order was restored at ringside introduced a match recorded earlier in the evening.
Bonus match: Chaz Taylor Vs Frogman LaBlanc
With his father and tag team partner Tugboat Taylor in solo action later tonight, this was a rare singles outing for the younger Taylor. As for the match itself, it was an easy night at the office for Chaz, as he connected with a superkick out of a cartwheel for a pinfall victory in about a minute and a half.
Match 5: Tugboat Taylor Vs. Big Bully Busick
This match came about because at Americana, ASAW’s favorite father figure Tugboat eliminated both Big Bully Busick and Busick’s partner Hugh Morrus in quick succession during the tag team battle royal. In this one-on-one encounter, Tugboat started out hot, using his size advantage to muscle Busick around. When the match spilled out of the ring, Busick turned the tide by slamming Tugboat into the guardrail. Busick then took over, wearing Taylor down with the methodical style he’s well known for. Twice, Busick locked in his “stump puller” submission, but both times Tugboat was able to power out. The came quickly though when Tugboat reversed a whip into the ropes and nailed Busick with a powerslam, then climbed to the top rope and hit the Anchor Drop elbow for the victory!
Match 6: Jim Brunzell Vs Austin Idol
Another match coming straight off the results from Americana, as Austin Idol challenged the man who eliminated him from the four corners match, Jumping Jim Brunzell. Brunzell, still clearly pretty banged up from his marathon match performance at Americana, was dominated here by Idol. Idol used his power advantage and, surprisingly, a lot of speed here to control Brunzell. But Brunzell’s refusal to be beaten clearly flustered Idol, as Brunzell kicked out following a piledriver not once, nor twice, but three times in a row! Idol’s frustration got the best of him when Brunzell mounted a bit of a comeback and the action spilled outside, Idol bodyslammed Brunzell through the time keeper’s table (the second time it had been destroyed on the night!) and got himself disqualified!
After the match, Teddy Long spoke with Lance Russell. Long let everyone know that George South had concussion like symptoms and would be out of action at least 4 weeks. As a result of their heinous assault on the journeyman, the Conways had both been suspended for two weeks.
Main Event Tag Team Championship Match Too Cool Vs. Champions “Playboy” Buddy Rose & “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers
Too Cool won the right to be the first team to challenge Rose and Somers by winning the tag team battle royal at Americana. The fun-loving, high-flying duo were looking to show that they belonged in the championship discussion. Too Cool started out strong, double teaming both Somers and Rose. Brian Christopher connected with his sunset flip powerbomb on Rose to bring the crowd to their feet! The champs showed why they have the gold though as the hung tough and turned the tide. The end came in a moment eerily similar to how the champions lost their first challenge for the belts as Somers hit Grand Master Sexay with a baseball slide kick while Christopher was out of the ring. The impact knocked Christopher into the guard rail and clearly out cold, leading to a count out victory for Rose and Somers.
After the match, Mr. Fuji lead American Champion Kurt Angle to the ring. “Your” Champion parades around the ring with the title held high above his head, seemingly oblivious to the boos of the Topeka crowd. Angle took the microphone to address the crowd. Angle boasted of his victory over the Patriot and ran down the gathered fans. Angle then said he had a very special surprise for everyone. Angle said that he always felt alone in the locker room, because as the only All-Star who was also an Olympic champion, no one was on his level. But, he had found two men who were almost on his level, two comrades who could understand the heights he had climbed, because they’d been on that mountain too. Angle then introduced everyone to his fellow Olympians. Two men in matching red, white, and blue track suits came out, waving American flags. Kurt introduced one of them as an Olympic Greeco-Roman wrestler from the Mexico City games: Bob Roop. The other man he introduced as the assistant wrestling coach for the Munich games, Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, but you can simply call him The Iron Sheik! The two new comers raised Angle on their shoulders, and paraded the champ around the ring, when suddenly Ride 'Em Cowboys, the Oklahoma State fight song began to play: signaling the arrival of number one contender Jack Brisco. Brisco came to the ring and took the microphone. Brisco said that he might not be an Olympian, but he is an NCAA division one champion and the number one contender for the American championship, and he wanted his title shot, and he wanted it right now. Bob Roop got in Brisco’s face though and challenged Brisco to find a partner to face himself and the Iron Sheik next week, and if Brisco survived that match, maybe the champ would get back to him about a title shot!

All Stars of American Wrestling Week 22 From the KEC in Green Bay Wisconsin
Match 1: "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal Vs. Jake "The Milkman" Milliman
Regal, part of match maker Teddy Long's "New All-Star Initiative", picked up his first victory with an impressive showing against the Milkman. Mr. Electricity got the pinfall victory after hitting a devastating belly-to-belly suplex!
After the match, Gordon Solie spoke to Regal. Regal called out Tiger Conway Senior and Junior, saying that the way they had attempted to injure George South was despicable and went against the wrestlers' code. Regal challenged either Conway to a match in two weeks when the Conways are off suspension!
Match 2: Brickhouse Brown Vs. Hugh Morrus
Brickhouse Brown, making his debut in ASAW, thrilled the crowd in taking on The Laughing Man Hugh Morrus. Brown connected with a picture perfect flying body press that Morrus barely managed to escape. Brown kept his foot on the throttle though and connected with a second flying body press and got the impressive victory in his first outing!
Match 3: Chaz Taylor Vs. Big Bully Busick
It's a clean sweep for the Taylors! First, Tugboat tossed both Busick and his occasional partner Morrus in the tag team battle royal at Americana, then Tugboat beat Busick one-on-one. Now, tonight, Chaz Taylor picked up a victory over Busick, in less than two minutes! Chaz first hit Busick with a big flying clothesline for a near fall, then used the "Chazitizer" to put the Bully away!
Match 4: Marty Jannetty (with Al Snow) Vs. Boris Zhukov (with Nikolai Volkoff)
The New Rockers, Jannetty and Snow, can't seem to crack the puzzle of the powerful Soviet duo of the Bolsheviks. After Volkoff single handedly bested the New Rockers last week, this week Zhukov held up his end of the bargain. It was much closer than last week's tag team battle, but in the end, Zhukov's strength advantage and his diving head butt was the deciding factor.
After the match, at the ASAW broadcast desk, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan discussed how impressive the Bolsheviks have been since the dissolution of Red October. Heenan said matchmaker Long should give the Bolsheviks the next shot at tag team champions Rose and Somers. Monsoon disagreed, pointing out how impressive the Taylors have been and also that Too Cool deserves another chance. Brain started to disagree but but Monsoon cut him off saying the next match would also have a big impact on the rankings in the tag division.
Match 5: The Fabulous Ones Vs. The Amazing French Canadians
If you'll pardon the pun, this one was both "fabulous" and "amazing". These two teams went at it and tore the house down with a fast paced, evenly fought match up. Neither team seemed able to keep the other down for long, with Jacques escaping an early near fall from a savate kick by Lane and Keirn surviving two double goozles. The end came when Keirn caught Jacques with the Fabulous Forearm for the win!
After the match, Keirn and Lane celebrated, only to be attacked from behind by the French Canadians! The two teams brawled until seperated by ASAW officials, but it was clear nothing was settled between these two teams.
Match 6: "Wildfire" Tommy Rich Vs. Redd Dogg
Rich seems to have fully recovered from his lingering injuries that were inflicted on him by Big Van Vader, as he dominated Redd Dogg and picked up a win over the tough fighter in less than 90 seconds using the Wildfire Sleeper!
After the match, Rich was interviewed by Solie at ringside. Rich wished his friend Dutch Savage good luck next week in defending the Television championship against Davey Boy Smith, but pointed out he never got his rematch with Smith for the title. So, who ever won next week, Rich stated he wanted to face them next for the Television championship! Rich was then interupted by Austin Idol who said that he himself should be next in line for a shot at the television championship. That brought out Jim Brunzell who said that since Idol couldn't beat him, there's no way Idol shold get a title shot before he did! All of this culminated in matchmaker Teddy Long coming out and making a triangle match between the three men in two weeks in Chicago!
We then saw Heenan and Monsoon at the ASAW broadcast desk. Monsoon reviewed the events of last week that lead to tonight's main event: the debut of American Champion Kurt Angle's Olympian teamates Bob Roop and The Iron Sheik, number one contender Jack Brisco challenging Angle, and Roop challenging Brisco to find a partner to face himself and The Iron Sheik. Heenan asked Monsoon who Brisco's partner would be, and Monsoon suggested it could be his younger brother Jerry Brisco. Heenan speculated that it could be The Patriot. Monsoon said we were about to find out because Lance Russell was standing by with the number one contender.
Russell got a few words from Brisco who said that he'd gotten calls from a lot of fellow wrestlers and friends offering to be his partner, from Thunderbolt Patterdon and Bob Backlund to men not in ASAW like his brother Jerry and "a certain touring champion who's a real king of wrestling". In the end though, he chose a partner who was not only a fellow Oklahoman, but someone who knows a thing or two about wrestling against Olympians, because he himself is one. Three time NCAA champion and member of the Olympic team from the London games: Dick Hutton!
Main Event Match 7: Jack Brisco and Dick Hutton Vs. Bob Roop and The Iron Sheik (with Mr. Fuji)
Three of these four men were making their ASAW debut, and all four of them them were looking to start thier time as All-Stars strong. Sheik and Roop were clearly looking to prove their worth to "Your" American Champion Angle, something that a victory over the number one contender would certainly help do. Hutton though showed that he was Oklahoma tough and continued to fight back after the Olympians laid a tremendous beating on him. Right before the final moments of the match, The Iron Sheik seemed to be tinkering with his boot, right before kicking Hutton and seemingly knocking him out to get the three count victory, bringing a disappointing ending to what had been a terrific match up!
