Atomic Drop is definitely one that I remember being used for various moves...I think they liked the sound of atomic making a move devastating back in the day. Suplexes for sure......you'd hear them say back suplex belly to back suplex, sidewinder suplex, side saddle suplex, all basically the same move. It's one thing I look forward to when I see a new wrestler in the game, what names they'll use for his or her moves.

I've seen the same thing as a coach. What we used to call Oklahoma, coaches around here call Country Boy. And what is now known as the Banana Split was the Nutty Rooster in my day. ..... Maybe that's regional, or depended on who the coach learned it from, because it was "banana split" here when I was in wrestling in high school. Oklahoma should ALWAYS be Oklahoma, though. What's wrong with those people?!? This has brought up an absolutely fascinating topic for discussion on....maybe a podcast: moves with different names in different regions/eras. How many different things have been called a surfboard? An atomic drop/atomic knee drop? All the various names for the various suplexes. Think about it. Atomic drop/atomic knee drop was the first thing that came to mind for me. The next couple of weeks podcasts are plotted out, but we'll work it into the February schedule. Great idea! And Cory Olson, is the banana split also known as the spladle?

And Cory Olson, is the banana split also known as the spladle? No, at least not around Minnesota. Here are videos of each: The spladle at about 1:25 is great, mainly because of the opponent's reaction. If you rewatch the Kurt Angle-Brock Lesnar match from Wrestlemania XIX in Seattle, Angle blocks an F5 with a spladle and Tazz even calls it by name.

But did a wishbone ever score a pinfall?
