My one hope for future promoter prime is that FG finds a way to get us our cards in the same condition they were mailed in. A lot has changed on the post office's side as to how mail is processed and I think the days of plain white envelops by themselves are in the past. Too many reports of messed up cards. I just placed an order for a whole new set of Legends PP 2022 in the hopes of getting Rude, Adonis and Sharpe cards that aren’t damaged by shipping. 🤞
Also, I think there should be a notation in the FG shop that Promoter Prime cards might not ship under the same postage rate as your original order. When I ordered PP 2022, in the beginning of last year I paid for express shipping and each quarter have paid for express shipping, and then the final three cards came as first class postage. I get why that happened and I’m not complaining about the why, but I think there should be some sort of disclaimer that that might happen when an order is placed. Or maybe give us the chance to upgrade shipping on delayed cards to better protect the cards. 🤷♂️

I would pay for express shipping over First Class on the PP stuff too

Envelopes are being terribly mishandled lately. From my understanding talking to people at the local post office, in a lot of instances they're being run through OLD, poorly maintained, and out of date sorting machines that don't work properly and are routinely snagging and ripping envelopes (don't we have a postal worker somewhere on the forums who can elaborate?). It may be time to use photo mailers or a similar rigid envelope that can still go first class envelope rate (padded mailers don't work because it makes it first class package at a much higher rate).

All true. Without paying a non-machinable surcharge, letter size envelopes are run through a cancellation machine, which without a doubt contributes to this ongoing issue. Photo mailers or better yet, disk mailers are in my opinion, the way to go. I personally would have no issue with an increased shipping cost to offset the price difference between white envelopes and a more rigid mailer, as well as paying a higher price for faster shipping. And I type this after opening my PP envelope last night and praying for non-damaged cards when I saw the condition of the envelope.

Honestly, I'd be cool waiting on my Pro Prime cards - like say Q3 or Q2 - until I place my December and July orders respectively. Heck, I'll be picking up my July order at TNTHOF or GCON each year. One, it would save on shipping - as instead of needing to ship something via first class, they only have to ship them with other orders. I know that if there is a new release for the Indies (depending on the set and names), and definitely Legends - each time there is a new release. However, I totally understand how awful that would be to keep track of.

Or how about a light cardboard that is just slightly bigger than the cards and sandwich them between and tape them closed. That might be a better solution rather than paying more shipping. If prices rise anymore then it will become ill affordable for some of us to pay for the cards as it is especially on the shipping end. As I speak to those of us in other countries.

I think even if you used a rigid photo or CD mailer of the size of the cards, if it goes through the sizer at the post office that counts as "first class" - it still costs first class. Any increases would just be to using different shipping materials.

Any increases would just be to using different shipping materials. There is an additional postage charge for “rigid” mailers as well as for larger/thicker envelopes. That is one of the reasons that we haven’t just made a switch on the fly. I appreciate everyone’s feedback on this. We’re listening to you and looking at options but please understand that any changes that we make will likely result in a cost increase that may not be insignificant to some. We don’t take that option lightly. In any case, we cannot guarantee Gem or Mint condition cards (on an GMA or other grading scale) arriving in your mailbox. There are too many factors beyond our control. Of course, we will do our best to have cards delivered in the best condition possible with the limitations of cost and the global postal system.

If the shipping price increases, a fourth card might make it easier to stomach for some people. I don't imagine four cards would cost more to ship than three.

Fully understand the concerns about a cost increase being a major factor, and the last thing anyone wants is to create more work for the FG staff, but perhaps at least an option for non-envelope mailers to be used for those willing to pay extra would solve the issue and keep everyone satisfied. I know better than anyone that nothing is guaranteed to arrive as it was packed when using any mail service, but I also believe that as a consumer, the option to at least try to avoid damage to the product you’re paying for should be made available. If there’s anything I can do to help out on my end as far as pricing, shipping options or even mailing the cards out, I am more than willing to help out. It’s not like I’m not at the post office 5 days a week 😉
