This show was canceled today for some reason. I just got a refund notice on Email with an explanation that this event is canceled.

5 hours ago on Twitter, MLW sent out an announcement about upcoming shows that included this Chicago show but now the event has been cancelled and the only upcoming MLW event listed on MLW's website is the NYC Battle Riot show later this month.

July 16 Chicago event update
The arena and live event division is revamping the 2022 schedule. Expect some change-ups in the calendar… and surprises on the horizon as business is about to pick up on the television end of the league’s operations.
Unfortunately, Major League Wrestling’s July 16 card is no longer taking place in Chicago, due to these taping schedule changes.
Refunds have been issued via Eventbrite and also are available at all points of purchase. If you have a question, please email refund@mlw.com.
MLW would like to thank all of our fans that have purchased tickets for this event. MLW is working to re-schedule a fight card in Chicago in the near future.

Does not sound good for MLW. Hopefully it is just a hiatus, or they are going thru some growth that they cannot discuss right now.

I doubt it's a hiatus. I think it's got some new talent coming in and want to restructure things to accommodate wrestlers for their shows. Just a guess, but it's not uncommon with the constant moving of wrestlers from promotion to promotion.

Was this the show everybody was supposed to go to at GCON? Or is that Friday?
And if it’s Friday, what are the chances that show gets cancelled too?

It was the Saturday show. The Friday show is a local fed I believe.

Was this the show everybody was supposed to go to at GCON? Or is that Friday? And if it’s Friday, what are the chances that show gets cancelled too? The AAW show is the Friday show (MLW was happening that Saturday) and AAW won't get canceled. While most Indy shows don't get canceled/rescheduled, MLW has done so in the past for various reasons including rescheduling a previous set of Chicago tapings and moving Fightland out of Los Angeles due to a venue issue.
