Tonight here in Des Moines Iowa we will have quarter final action for both the CWF World Tag Team Title and CWF World Heavyweight Title. All matches tonight will be 1 fall with no time limit

* Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake win by DQ at 4:12
* The match ends after Sandman begins beating on Brutus Beefcake with a chair outside the ring
* Ox Baker is furious with Sandman over the DQ loss and the two men get into a shaving match.
* Sandman challenges Ox Baker to a fight for the 1/8/01 card in Iowa City

2.) Tag QF: Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien** vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers with Bobby Heenan 
* DDQ at 2:52 
* The match ends with both teams brawling outside the ring 
* Due to the DDQ Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake get a bye to the Finals of the Tag Tournament

Press Booth: Jimmy Hart enters the press booth and acts like his team of Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake just won the Super Bowl. He puts over his team as being the best team in the world and the soon to be CWF World Tag Team Champions.

* Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff win by Tap Out at 10:41
* After the match Iron Sheik insults the crowd by telling them Iran is #1 and that he is a better wrestler than Iowa's Dan Gable.
* The crowd begins to throw trush into the ring and Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and Nikita Breznikov quickly leave

4.) Tag QF: Hawk & Animal with Paul Ellring vs. Johnny Valiant** & Jimmy Valiant with Capt. Lou Albano
* Hawk & Animal win by pin at 1:59
* Crowd goes crazy for Hawk and Animal giving them a load pop
* Hawk & Animal will face Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff 1/2/01 in Des Moines

5.) HWT QF: Frank Gotch****** vs. Harley Race****
* Frank Gotch wins by Tap Out at 20:03 with Gotch Toe Hold
* This was the match of the night with both men looking like they could have won at anytime.
* After the match both men shake hands but Race pulls Gotch towards him and tells him they will meet again soon.

6.) HWT QF: Bobo Brazil** vs. Johnny Valentine**** with Jimmy Hart
* Bobo Brazil wins by pin at 13:40 with Coco Butt
* After the match Bobo puts out his hand to shake Valentine's hand but Valentine spites in Bobo's face and leaves the ring.
* Jimmy Hart trash talks Bobo over his megaphone as he and Valentine leave

7.) HWT QF: Giant Baba** vs. Buddy Rogers**
* Giant Baba wins by DQ at 12:05 
* Buddy Rogers is DQ'ed after he throws a chair at Baba while they are outside the ring.
* While Baba is down after the chair shot Buddy Rogers slaps him in the face serval times before leaving

8.) HWT QF: The Destroyer vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan
* The Destroyer wins by pin at 0:22 with a Airplane Spin
* This ending was from out of no where and happened so fast Nick Bockwinkel sat in the ring in shock after the match.
* Bobby Heenan runs into the ring after the match to protest to the Ref that Nick wasn't ready and the match should be restarted.
* Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan go to CWF officials and protest the match claiming that Bockwinkel wasn't allowed proper warm up time and that the match needs to be restart. CWF officials tell Bockwinkel and Heenan the results stand

CWF: Crowning A Champion Night 2

*Lance Russell from the press booth opens the show by informing the fans that tonight the 1st CWF World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Champions will be crowned. Plus there will be two draw matches. A draw match is where names are put into a hat and draw at random. The two names draw will meet in a match. And, tonight both finals matches will be refereed by Morgan Dollar. Lets go to our ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta

1.) Tag SF: Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake with Jimmy Hart come to the ring and have there hands raised for there bye to the finals due to the DDQ finish from the QF match of Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien vs. Doug Somers & Buddy Rose on 1/1/01
* Jimmy Hart jumps around the ring yelling into his megaphone that the Dream Team are the next World Champs.

2.) Tag SF: Hawk & Animal with Paul Ellring vs. Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Brezkikov
* DDQ at 0:00
* This match never gets started. A wild brawl starts outside the ring as Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff try to get a jump on the Road Warriors. The fight goes into the crowd and the referee can't get order restored so he throws out the match.

* Jimmy Hart runs to the press booth and declares the Dream Team as the World Tag Champions. A CWF offcial meets Hart and tells him the CWF offcials will meet to determine what to do with the Tag Titles and will give a ruling later in the show.

3.) HWT SF: Frank Gotch vs. Bobo Brazil ***
* Frank Gotch wins by tap out at 3:58 with Gotch Toehold
* Both men shake hands after the match.

4.) HWT SF: Giant Baba vs The Destroyer
* The Destroyer wins by pin at 1:44 with knee strike to the face
* Again the match is followed a hand shake

* Lance Russell pulls two names for the first draw match and its Jimmy Snuka and Gorgeous George. He then pulls names for the second draw match and its Killer Kowalski and King Kong Bundy

5.) Jimmy Snuka** vs. Gorgeous George* with Socal Val
* Jimmy Snuka wins by DQ at 10:58
* The match ends after George hits Snuka with a chair outside the ring.
* Snuka is bleeding badly from this chair shot. George starts hit Snuka on the open cut causing him to bleed more while Socal kicks Snuka.
* CWF offcials run to the ring and pull George off of Snuka
* Once Snuka recovers he is enraged and has to be restrained from attacking George.

6.) Killer Kowalski* vs. King Kong Buddy
* King Kong Buddy wins by DQ at 1:18
* The match ends when Killer hits Buddy with a hammer outside the ring.
* Buddy was knocked out from the blow and is bleeding. Buddy needed help to the locker room

* Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, and Jimmy Hart come out to the press booth. Hart wants the tag team belts and demands to know what the CWF is going to do.
* A CWF offcial comes out and informs Hart that it was decided that a rematch betweem Red Bastien & Billy Lyons and Doug Somer & Buddy Rose will take place and the winner of that match will face the Dream Team on 1/8/01 in Iowa City for the titles.
* Hart protest the ruleing but its final
* Red Bastien & Billy Lyons quickly run to the ring
* But Boddy Heenan walks out with Doug Somers & Buddy Rose in suits and Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race in there wrestling gear
* Boddy Heenan informs the CWF offcial that he entered a team in this tag tournament and as per his contract he can change that team at any time so Bockwinkel and Race will be in this match. Bobby turns to Hart and says "Sorry this is just business"
* Doug Somers and Buddy Rose sit ring side

7.) Red Basten & Billy Red Lyons vs. Nick Bockwinkel & Harley Race with Bobby Heenan
* Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race win by DQ at 0:10
* The match ends as soon as it starts. The bells ring and Doug Somers jumps into the ring and hits Nick Bockwinkel who throws himself onto the mat like he has been knock out.
* Basten and Lyons protest as the crowd boos.
* Boddy Heenan yells at Somers while winking at him at the sometime to sell the moment as real.

* CWF offcials put out a statment the tag finals will the Dream Team against Heenans team on 1/8/01.

8.) CWF World Heavyweight Championship: Frank Gotch vs. The Destroyer* Referee Morgan Dollor/ photos by Mike Lano

* Both men shake hands after the match
* Frank Gotch says he will be a fighting champion

*Lance Russell opens the show by cutting a promo for tonight's main event for the CWF World Tag Team Titles between the Dream Team and Heenan's teams of Bockwinkel and Race. Also, tonight Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers. Plus Buddy Rogers will be in action and a lot more.
*Before the show CWF officials make a statement that Rikidozan and Mil Mascaras have signed CWF contracts and will debut next week on 1/15/01 in St Louis, MO
*Also CWF will return to St. Louis for Saturday Night Wrestling on 1/29/01, We will make our Saturday Night Wrestling debuts in Omaha on 2/05/01 and Milwaukee on 2/19/01
*And on 2/12/01 We will have Crowning A Champion 2 live from Chicago, Ill as we will crown our first CWF International Champion in a 8 man one night tournament.

*After the match Giant Baba goes to the press booth to talk the Lance Russell. Baba talks about wanting to move into World Title contention here in CWF and he challenges the man who beat him in the SF of the HWT title tournament The Destroyer.
*The Destroyer joins Baba and Russell in the press booth. The Destroyer accepts the challenge of Giant Baba and the two men shake hands. The Destroyer also tells Russell that he wants another shot at Frank Gotch and the CWF World HWT Title. He says that he like Baba but Baba is a stepping stone to get his shot.
*The two men go backstage and sign a contract to face each other next week in the main event in St. Louis, MO

2.) Mike Dibiase & Ted Dibiase vs. Johnny Valiant & Jimmy Valiant with Captain Lou Albano 1 fall 20min
*Mike Dibiase & Ted Dibiase win by pin at 3:25
*Mike Dibiase and Ted Dibiase join Lance Russell in the press booth. Mike say that the CWF is making it debut in the Dibiase's home town of Omaha on 2/5/01. He says he can't thank of a better way for CWF to draw a large house than for the home town guys to get a shot at the world tag team titles.
*Backstage Captain Lou is yelling at the Valiant brothers. He is pointing out that they lost their debuts in under 2 minutes and now they lost to the Dibiase's in about just over three minutes. He says that if the Valiants don't get it together he'll sign a different team.

3.) Jake Milliman vs. Buddy Rogers 1 fall 20min
*Buddy Rogers wins by tap out at 0:57 with Figure Four Grapevine
*Buddy Rogers takes a microphone from ring side and calls out Frank Gotch
*Frank Gotch walks to the ring with the CWF World HWT Championship.
*Buddy Rogers says he isn't going to make challenges to other top guys to earn his title shot. He is just going to challenge the world champion now.
*Frank Gotch takes the mic from Rogers and tells him to beat someone other than a jobber and we'll talk.

*Lance Russell is standing in the press booth with newly signed Rikidozan. Rikidozan tells Russell that he signed with CWF so that he could fight in the International title tournament in Chicago on 2/12/01.
*Its official Rikidozan will be in the International tournament in Chicago. He will also make his in ring debut next week in St. Louis against Jake Milliman

4.) Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien** vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers** with Bobby Heenan 1 fall 30min
*Buddy Rose & Doug Somers win by pin at 9:02
*Bobby Heenan calls out the Dibiase's. He asked them what makes them thank they can get a tag title match without beating Rose and Somers.
*The Dibiase come out from the locker room
*Ted Dibiase says that if beating Rose and Somers will get them a tag title match in there home town then they challenge them.
*CWF officials sign a number one contenders match for 1/22/01 in Kansas City between the Dibiase's and Rose & Somers

5.) Bobo Brazil**** vs. Johnny Valentine* with Jimmy Hart 1 fall 30min
*Johnny Valentine wins by pin at 8:17 with Atomic Skullcrusher
*After the match Johnny Valentine puts boots to Bobo until S.D. Jones runs to the ring with a chair to run Valentine off.
*S.D. Jones yells that he wants Valentine next week.
*Jimmy Hart tells Jones he should be carefully who he challenges because he is not in Valentine's league. But Hart says he will get the contract wrote up for a match next week because Valentine could use a warmup match

*Lance Russell is in the press booth with Mil Mascaras. Mil informs Lance that he has signed to enter the international tournament in Chicago.
*Mil Mascaras will make his debut next week against Frogman Leblanc

6.) Sandman vs. Ox Baker 1 fall 20min
*Ox Baker wins by DQ at 0:43
*The match ends when Sandman starts hitting Baker repeatedly with his cane
*CWF officials have to come to the ring to restrain Sandman
*CWF officials make a No DQ/count out match between Sandman and Baker next week

*Johnny Valentine comes to the ring to celebrate with the Dream Team. Jimmy Hart runs around ring side yelling into his megaphone that he told everyone that the Dream Team is the best tag team in the world.
*Harley Race and Bobby Heenan go to the press booth to talk to Lance Russell. Race says this tag loss isn't a big deal for his real goal. Race challenges Frack Gotch to a rematch for the world title.
*Frank Gotch comes out and tells Race that he hasn't beaten anyone yet. Frack suggest that Race face Buddy Rogers.
*After Gotch leaves Boddy Heenan says that this loss isn't a setback for Bockwinkel either. He says that as per Bockwinkel's contract he is allow entry into any tournament that the CWF puts on for a title. So, Nick Bockwinkel will be in the International title tournament in Chicago

*CWF makes its St. Louis debut next week on 1/15/01 were the main event will be The Destroyer vs. Giant Baba with Frank Gotch at ring side. Also Jimmy Snuka vs. Gorgeous George, Buddy Rogers vs. Harley Race, S.D. Jones vs. Johnny Valentine, a No DQ/count out match between Sandman and Ox Baker. Plus Rikidozan, Killer Kowalski, and Mil Mascaras will be in action.
*In Kansas City, MO on 1/22/01 the main event has been signed in a No DQ/count out match it will be Hawk & Animal vs. Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff. Plus Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien vs. The Valiant Brothers

*Killer Kowalski sees Buddy coming and let's go of the hold and leaves the ring.
*King Kong Buddy takes a microphone and vows to tire Killer apart.

2.) S.D. Jones* with Bobo Brazil vs. Johnny Valentine with Jimmy Hart 1 fall 20min
*Johnny Valentine wins by pin at 2:25 with atomic skull crusher
*Johnny Valentine mocks Bobo Brazil after the match
*Bobo Brazil gets into the ring and right into Valentine's face. The talk trash about there 3rd match coming up
*CWF officials get in between the two men

*Mildred Burke is in the press booth with Lance Russell. Mildred talks about the formation of Women Of Wrestling WOW. Mildred says the in Peoria, ILL on 2/4/01 the Fabulous Moolah and herself have signed to face each other to be the 1st WOW World Champion. Also, that night there will be some of the top amateur women wrestling in the world. Mildred says the WOW is in association with CWF wrestling.

3.) Rikidozan vs. Jake Millman 1 fall 20min
*Rikidozan wins by tap out at 0:06 with a hip lock
*This is the fastest win I have ever rolled in real time it took 3 seconds*
*Rikidozan goes to the press booth to talk with Lance Russell. Rikidozan says he is in the CWF to be the first CWF International Champion.

4.) No DQ Match: Sandman* vs. Ox Baker* 1 fall No Time Limit
*Sandman wins by pin at 5:05 with a singapore cane shot to Ox Baker's head
*After Ox Baker recovers, he goes after Sandman. The two fight up the ramp and into the backstage area.
*Backstage CWF officials pull the men apart.

*CWF officials put out a statement that Bobo Brazil, S.D. Jones and Johnny Rodz have signed to face Johnny Valentine, Greg Valentine, and Brutis Beefcake 1/22/01 in Kansas City. Also, next week in Kansas City Sandman will face Ox Baker in a street fight

5.) Jimmy Snuka*** vs. Gorgeous George with Socal Val 1 fall 30min
*Gorgeous George wins by tap out at 2:24 with spinning toe hold
*George was able to get the jump on Snuka early after Socal Val hits Snuka low when the referee's back was turned to the action
*After the match Gorgeous George grabs a chair and looks ready to smash Snuka over the head at the engagement of Socal
*Rikidozan runs to the ring and pulls the chair out of George's hands before he hit Snuka
*Gorgeous George quickly leaves the ring. But Socal Val gets into Rikidozan's face and tells him that he should mind his own business.

6.) Buddy Rogers* vs. Harley Race with Bobby Heenan 1 fall 30min
*Buddy Rogers wins by DQ at 3:01
*The match ends after Race puts Rogers though a table outside the ring and Rogers is unable to continue.
*Bobby Heenan grabs a microphone and says that it doesn't matter what the result of this match is. He is going to get a contract for Harley Race to face the World Champion.

*A very upset Socal Val is in the press booth with Lance Russell. Socal tells Lance that Rikidozan had no business coming to the ring after Gorgeous George beat Jimmy Snuka. Socal challenges Rikidozan on behalf of Gorgeous George for a match in Kansas City.
*Rikidozan joins Socal and Russell in the press booth and says he accepts the challenge.
*Socal slaps Rikidozan before leaving the press booth.

7.) Mil Mascaras* vs. Frogman Leblanc* 1 fall 20min
*Mil Mascaras wins by pin at 1:58 with cross body block
*Mil Mascaras grabs a microphone and say Leblanc was a little tougher than he expected. He also said that like Rikidozan that he is here to be the first CWF International Champion

*Lance Russell in the press booth talks about the CWF International Championship tournament that will take place 2/12/01 at Crowning a Champion 2 in Chicago, ILL. He tells the fans that it will an eight-man tournament that will feature some of the best wrestlers from around the world. Also, that night the CWF World Heavyweight title will be on the line as Frank Gotch will defend his title against from what I have been just told the winner of our next match between The Destroyer and Giant Baba.

*After the match both men shake hands and Baba raise The Destroyer's arm in respect
*Frank Gotch gets into the ring to confront The Destroyer, but the moment is interrupted by Boddy Heenan, Harly Race, and Nick Bockwinkel coming the ring.
*Bobby Heenan takes a microphone and talks about his family being number one here in the CWF. Heenan then challenges Frank Gotch and The Destroyer to face Race and Bockwinkel in Kansas City in a tag team match
*Both Frank Gotch and The Destroyer accept the challenge

Johnny Valiant says that all he and his brother needed was to be challenged by Lou to get things right (see show 1/8/01).

*King Kong Buddy wins by pin at 7:20 with running power slam
*During the match Killer Kowalski slowly walks to the ring. After the match Killer gets on the apron and taunts Buddy.
*King Kong Buddy goes after Killer, but he is jumped from behind by three men who come out of the crowd.

*Abdullah Farouk comes out of the crowed and grabs a microphone. Farouk introduces his group and says their name is Terror.

He says he had no interest in this match. Socal then challenges Rikidozan and Jimmy Snuka for a tag match next week in St. Louis.
*Jimmy Snuka asked who George is going to team with.
*Buddy Rogers walks out of the locker room and says he is Gorgeous George's partner.

*Backstage a very upset Buddy Rose and Doug Somers tell Bobby Heenan that they are going to take some time away to get in better shape. Heenan tells them when they are ready to come back, he'll have top dollar contracts for them.

Next week Ray Stevens will be in CWF and he will team with Nick Bockwinkel to face Red Bastien and Billy Red Lyons.

And Heenan says that CWF is holding Crowning A Champion 3 3/12/01 in Sioux Falls for the United States Championship. After Bockwinkel wins the international title on 2/12/01 in Chicago he will decline entry into the U.S tournament and Ray Stevens will be in that tournament to win the U.S title.

*Abdullah Farouk says that his group "Terror" is set and ready to bring terror on the CWF. And tonight, King Kong Buddy and Sandman will feel what "Terror" is all about.

*Jimmy Snuka and a CWF official are in the press booth with Lance Russell. The CWF official tells Jimmy Snuka and the St. Louis crowd that the CWF has decided to set up a match between Jimmy Snuka and Gorgeous George 2/26/01 in Minneapolis, MN. This match will be steel cage match and the loser of this match will be out of wrestling for 90 days. The official also says that the CWF have entered both Jimmy Snuka and Gorgeous George into the international title tournament. If either Snuka or George win the title than the title will be defended in the steel cage match The CWF official also says that compete brackets for the international title tournament will be put out at the end of tonight's show.
*Jimmy Snuka thanks the CWF officials for setting the steel cage match with George.

*CWF officials put out a statement that Bobo Brazil will get another 1v1 match Johnny Valentine on 3/5/01 in Fargo, ND and if there is any interference the one who interferes will be fired on the spot. Also, signed for 2/19/01 Johnny Valentine, Greg Valentine, and Brutus Beefcake will face Bobo Brazil and any two partners of his choosing.

WOW (Women Of Wrestling): WOW House Show
2/4/01 Peoria, ILL

*Tonight's WOW house show kicks off with 7 amateur matches that show off the skills of 14 of the top female amateur stars in the world. But, due to these 14 women being amateurs WOW won't be posting results from their matches.
*WOW officials hope to sign these women to WOW contracts in the near future.
*During the amateur matches Mildred Burke comes to the ring to cut a promo on WOW. And she thanks CWF for allowing WOW to be an associate with them until they get off and going. Mildred also talks about her opponent for tonight Fabulous Moolah. Mildred says she respects Moolah but there is only room for one top female in WOW and Mildred is that women.
*Fabulous Moolah cut a promo during the show as well. Moolah talks about being the best female wrestler on the plant. She talks disrespectfully about the amateur women on the show calling them what they are "Amateur". Moolah says Mildred Burke is not on her level and tonight she will walk out of Peoria WOW World Champion.

*Note 2/26/01 in Minneapolis, MN the main event that night will be Jimmy Snuka vs. Gorgeous George in a steel cage match. The loser of this match will be out of wrestling for 90 days.

*Mildred Burke joins Lance Russell in the press booth. Mildred talks about winning the WOW World Championship last night in Peoria and how much the title means to her. Mildred talks about her next opponent Sherri Martel. She talks of her respect for Sherri but also how badly she wants to retain her title. Mildred tells the fans that she will face Sherri 2/26/01 in Minneapolis.

*Mil Mascaras joins Lance Russell in the press booth. Mil Mascaras talks about his hopes of winning the International Championship next week in Chicago and representing is home country of Mexico.
*Socal Val walks out to the press booth. She starts insulting Mil and telling him that he has no chance of getting out of the first round against Gorgeous George.
*Before Mil Mascaras can respond Socal slaps him across his face and walks off.
*Lance asks Mil if he is ok and Mil smiles and says he will take out his angry about this on George next week.

*Harly Race and Bobby Heenan go to the press booth after the match. Bobby takes Lance Russell's microphone and moves him aside. Bobby cut on promo on Harly Race being the future World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Bockwinkel be coming International Champion next, and Ray Stevens winning the U.S. title tournament on 3/12/01 and becoming United States Champion.
*Harly Race takes the microphone from Bobby Heenan and warns Frank Gotch and The Destroyer that he will be ring side for their match next week and he will challenge the winner for the World Championship.

*This is a big upset Lance Russell is heard yelling from the press booth.
*Nikolai Volkoff and Iron Sheik attack Jones and Rodz after the match.
*But Bobo Brazil and two other men run to the ring and chase Iron Sheik and Volkoff off.

*Bobo Brazil and the two other men join Lance Russell in the press booth. Bobo introduces his two friends Brickhouse Brown and Thuderbolt Patterson. Bobo says these two men will team with him when he faces Jimmy Hart's first family 2/19/01 in Milwaukee in the main event. Bobo also informs the fans that he will face Johnny Valentine one-on-one 3/5/01 in Fargo, ND. And if anyone interferes like happened in their last match (see show 1/29/01) that person will be fired on the spot.

Paul tells Lou that he made the worst mistake of his life signing to face The Road Warriors and, on the 19th, the Valient's are in for a real bad night.

*This match was slow paced. Both men kept grabbing on to each other and holding one another. Often Killer would push Buddy into a corner and hold him there. The referee for the match had to keep pulling the men apart and restarting the match telling them to get some action going.
*The fans were very restless and booed often during the match.
*Backstage King Kong Buddy confronts Killer Kowalski, but the two men are separated by CWF officials
*Both men sign a contract to meet in a NO DQ match 2/26 in Minneapolis.

*Match ends in a DDQ at 16:42 after a wild brawl takes place outside the ring.
*CWF staff rush to the ring and ring side area after the match to separate the two teams. Staff also have to protect Valentine and Beefcake from the Omaha crowd who are going after them as well.

*Mike Dibase takes a microphone and thanks the crowd for coming out and supporting Ted and himself. He says the CWF is coming back to Omaha on 3/19/01 and that he will lobby for a rematch for the titles than.

*CWF officials agree with Mike Dibase and sign a rematch for the CWF World Tag Team Championship to take place 3/19/01 in Omaha between the champions Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake and The Dibases.
