Sunshine State Wrestling works ALMOST exclusively throughout Florida and will have some spot shows in just across the border in southern Alabama and Georgia. Eddie Graham and his son Mike are the promoters/bookers for the promotion. No belts have been awarded or given. Championship opportunities will be decided on results/time and time spent in the territory. Small roster exclusive roster that is usually signed for a month at a time - at most. Many other appearances are just that - appearance for a show or a few shows. Everything is fluid in this fed though, so anything can happen. The Grahams like to run multiple shows per week usually focusing on north Florida and moving down the state. Some financial and logistical issues will also cause the Grahams to focusing on touring north Florida/south Florida separately to more easily consolidate talent and reduce daily travel throughout the state. Home base for this promotion is in Tampa, FL (I'm a homer and the real CWF was HQ'd here anyway). Cities we will visit include West Palm Beach, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Key West, Tampa, St Petersburg, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Orlando, Perry, Gainesville and Panama City. Some spot shows can be found in Valdosta, GA and states right on the Alabama/Florida line (Flomaton, Florala). TV will always be filmed at 106 N Albany St in Tampa aka the "Tampa Sportatorium" (Which you can see in my Avatar).
First show is at the Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, FL. Set to appear on the Match Card:
The Rock 'n Roll Express, The British Bulldogs, Shane Douglas, Les Thatcher, Tracy Smothers, Koko B Ware, King Kong Bundy and Kurt Angle.
I've already rolled this card (rolled it last night to re-start my fed after testing some diff approaches through several weeks), but I'm going to figure out what direction to take with a match result, so I'll post the results later today. Was a hell of a card to roll. Almost had a time limit draw in one match - which has never happened to me before and I had a really surprising result that really threw a curve ball my way, so it's fun to think "What the hell do I do with that result" lol.

SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING
Match Card 1, Week 1 from Tucker Civic Center, Tallahassee, FL
Rock 'n Roll Express d. British Bulldogs via DQ 27:16 - Brawl outside of the ring. 5.0 star match. Match Comments: This almost went to a 30-minute time limit draw. Great back and forth action! Dynamite Kid and Ricky Morton were the stars of this tag-team match though. RnR picked up the win, but this has the makings of a spicy rivalry and these two teams are gonna go right back at it.
Shane Douglas d. Les Thatcher via Pittsburgh Plunge 19:48 - 5.0 star match Match Comments: Great back and forth from these guys as well. Douglas had the slight edge in the time on attack, but they had some entertaining out of the ring brawling as well when the ref was knocked unconscious.
Tracy Smothers d. Koko B Ware via Jawjacker 13:50 - 2.5 star match Match Comments: I guess you would consider this the "popcorn match"...but I hate to use that term. While it wasn't the most exciting match of the night, these two put in WORK in their nearly 15-minute bout.
MAIN EVENT:
King Kong Bundy d. Kurt Angle via Atlantic City Avalanche 3:22 - DUD Match comments: If you blinked you missed this one. Controversy surrounds this match as there was an inadvertent bell signaling the beginning of the match. It caught Angle off-guard and Bundy rushed him and hit the Atlantic City Avalanche pretty quick...and yes...he even got the five count on Angle. After the match, Angle was PISSED said that the match shouldn't count due to the inadvertent bell which was caused by the referee waving his hands to SSW officials and not intending to start the match. However, the official bell did ring indicating the start of the match and Bundy capitalized.
Promoter notes: Angle is upset and it could be an issue moving forward with him wanting to work in Florida in the future. It was only meant to be a one-time appearance, but we will be extending his stay. The next match card is already booked, so we had to move some things around. We're gonna feed Koko to Angle...hopefully. Then we can work with Bundy on a possible rematch, although Bundy isn't keen on it at the moment. Match Card two is coming up in Jacksonville. We've got Ox Baker and Blackjack Mulligan in town for it along with Angle extending his stay - for how long, we don't know yet.

SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING
Match Card 2, Week 1 from Jacksonville Civic Center, Jacksonville, FL
Ox Baker d. Blackjack Mulligan via Heart Punch x 2, 5.0 star match, 9:14 Match Comments: It took TWO +3 Hear Punch moves to put Blackjack Mulligan down
British Bulldogs d. Rock 'n Roll Express via Pinfall (Davey Boy Smith over Ricky Morton), 3.75 star match, 23:04 Match Comments: This is really turning into a nice rivalry. Two weeks in a row they've had GREAT matches and swapped victories. However, the British Bulldogs do have a pinfall over RnR Express. RnR Express won via DQ. Not the end of these guys matching up by a long-shot. Match pace was good, lots of reversals, lots of tags (as it should be in a tag match), but Davey and Ricky really took a beating as they kept rolling the tag finishers on each other, where Dynamite Kid and Robert Gibson had minimal fatigue.
Shane Douglas/King Kong Bundy DRAW v Tracy Smothers/Les Thatcher 30:00 minute time-limit draw Match Comments: Both teams were on the verge of victory multiple times, but time just ran out. As time expired Smothers had just rolled the Jawjacker, but the pin was unsuccessful.
Koko B Ware d. Kurt Angle via DQ - Brawl outside of the ring/illegal use of a chair, 2.5 star match, 9:04[/b] Match Comments: Kurt Angle is really struggling. Sure he lost by DQ and wasn't pinned, but the rolls are just not going his way. Two moves in - Koko B Ware was rolling for the pinfall victory. It evened itself out over the course of the match, but I expected a much more dominating performance from Kurt. Emotions got the better of him and he hit Koko with a chair shot over the head. Immediate DQ/bell. Angle not happy at all. Is now 0-2 in his SSW visit.
Promoter Notes: Angle will be with Gordon Solie at the kickoff of the next match card. Not sure what he is going to say or what he plans to do, as we only have a few more dates with him after his initial extension to stay after that quick loss to King Kong Bundy.
The British Bulldogs & The Rock 'n Roll Express have really provided great matches for the fans and word is getting around the territory about these two teams. Every town wants to see them! While we would love to get a rubber-match out of these two, they won't be squaring off at the next match card.
Ox Baker will be in action next week with a TBD opponent. Blackjack Mulligan was a one-show deal, but we'll be sure to bring him back, the determination he showed after taking TWO Heart Punches impressed the crowd and the boys in the back.
King Kong Bundy wants the next "victim" he's not happy with how the tag match went against Smothers & Thatcher and said it was a "one-shot" deal, he likes "working alone." Rumor is there was some heat in the back between Bundy and Shane Douglas. Bundy felt Douglas went into business for himself by not sharing the ring and trying to win the match himself.
GOOD LORD WILLING AND THE CREEK DON'T RISE, WE WILL SEE YOU ALL IN GAINESVILLE FOR MORE SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING!

Angle losing to Ware even if by DQ is amusing. Bulldogs against RNR is always fun.

Angle losing to Ware even if by DQ is amusing. Bulldogs against RNR is always fun. I'm actually not sure what exactly to do with him. I'm trying to get him a win lol - but I'll let the dice decide what's next after his interview with Gordon Solie at our Gainesville, FL match card. British Bulldogs & RnR Express have had some awesome matches rolled. I'm not going to keep pitting them against each other, but I do want to keep that fire going between them b/c the matches have just been that good. So much back and forth when rolling them.

SUNSHINE STATE WRESTLING
Match Card 3, from Jolie Events Center, Gainesville, FL
Koko B Ware d. Les Thatcher via DQ, 1.5 stars, 9:06 Match Comments: Koko B Ware left the ring after a series of Dropkicks by Les Thatcher. A Wild Brawl erupts when Thatcher goes after him, Koko cleared his DQ roll but Thatcher didn't. Koko now has 2 wins in SSW - both due to his opponent being DQ'd
Davey Boy Smith d. Tracy Smothers via Pinfall, 3.5 stars, 20:38 Match Comments: Good back and forth match. Smothers had control of the match, but a Deathjump was reversed by Davey Boy Smith right into a roll-up pin for the victory.
Shane Douglas d. Kurt Angle via Belly-to-Belly Suplex, 2.0 stars, 7:46 Match Comments: Kurt CAN'T catch a break! Pre-match interview with Gordon Solie saw Shane Douglas interrupt the interview and the match started prematurely. Angle, unfortunately for him, started on L3D! Angle showed the heart of a champion as he battled back and had control of the match. Out of the Ring roll saw Douglas sweep the leg of Angle and crush his knee into the ring post. Douglas took over from there and finished the match. Post-match interview with Gordon Solie see Kurt say he's tired of the "BS" and he wants a "CLEAN and FAIR" match in Orlando at the next match card and he'll forfeit the rest of the pay on his appearances contract if he doesn't win.
King Kong Bundy d. Ox Baker via Atlantic City Avalanche, DUD, 1:44 Match Comments: This was essentially a squash match. Bundy literally won this thing in 3 rolls. He landed a forearm smash and then landed consecutive Atlantic City Avalanches. After the match Bundy laughed like a villain saying he wanted the SSW to "bring him more" and told the fans "send me all your heroes, they can take a number, because they'll be next!"
PROMOTER NOTES: I've never seen anything like what I'm rolling with Angle at the moment. Again, I had to just laugh after I rolled the pre-match interview card b/c it seems like he's always starting behind the eight-ball. If he doesn't win, he'll be released and I'll bring him back much further down the road. If he wins, he may still get released. He is just snake-bit right now.
Bundy, continues to dominate when he is in the ring. Both his singles matches were short/quick. His tag team match with Shane Douglas was a time limit draw, but he also dominated when he was in the ring for that one too. He's looking more and more like the front-runner to win the first SSW Grand Champion belt (I used the term "Grand Champion" b/c I don't want my top title to be limited to just heavyweights...think of it as an open-weight belt).
Les Thatcher also hasn't won, but he's been waaaay more impressive than Angle so far. His losses really could have gone either way.
Currently, we have 3 wrestlers who are unbeaten in singles action: King Kong Bundy, Shane Douglas and...Koko B Ware. Koko isn't championship material right now, but regardless of how he wins, he continues to walk away with victories, so we're gonna step up his level of competition for the next card.
GOOD LORD WILLING AND THE CREEK DON'T RISE, WE WILL SEE ALL OF YOU IN ORLANDO AT THE JIM BEECH RECREATION CENTER!!!
