I am going to be in Milwaukee for a few days after Galacticon next month (Waterloo is in play afterward as a possibility which I can better assess after my next paycheck in July.) I have not been to Milwaukee before and I wanted to ask if anyone has any advice on things I should see/do while I am there? I have a ticket to tour the Milwaukee Brewers stadium that Wednesday (7/20) but otherwise I don't have any other plans for when I am there yet. But I definitely want to see the statue of The Crusher. Plus I have been assured that Milwaukee's Best is not actually Milwaukee's best beer (that is good for Milwaukee) so I might try some of their local beer since I do drink when I travel (but at home these days I mostly drink non-alcoholic beer, just a lifestyle choice.) Also, thanks again to my friend Barry/ malicelover for driving me to Milwaukee after Galacticon!

Also the National Bobblehead museum is located in Milwaukee. I also am a fan of DOC’S Commerce Smokehouse for BBQ. Lastly I really enjoy Great Lakes Distillery. Those would be my recommendations, and to help you with cash, if you need a pick up from MKE, or even if you can make it to Wauwatosa (near MKE) I could get you Wednesday (different than we additional discussed) if Waterloo works with your finances.

I like those tours as I can get on and off the buses whenever and at whatever stops I want and $25 for a day's worth of transportation is much cheaper than taking a Lyft from place to place. One of the tours I am looking at has optional stops at or near the following Milwaukee locations: Milwaukee Public Museum Milwaukee Art Museum B Henry Maier Festival Park Lakefront Brewery City Hall Milwaukee County Historical Society Old World 3rd St. Pabst Theater Bradford Beach Brady Street Milwaukee Public Market Historic Third Ward Harley-Davidson Museum Milwaukee Convention Center Complex Great Lakes Distillery Lakeshore State Park B Bradley Center National Bobblehead Hall of Fame

That sounds like a cheap fun option!

I made it to Milwaukee. Thanks again to malicelover and his wife for driving me to my hotel here from Chicago! Wisconsin is now state #29 for me (I still have a ways to go to get to all 50.) I am staying by the airport and I am looking forward to taking the train to downtown tomorrow to start seeing the city!

I slept in way too late today but still made it to downtown Milwaukee. I almost got into two car accidents today. One was on the way to the airport train to go downtown when my hotel shuttle driver suddenly slammed on the breaks to avoid a car that suddenly pulled out in front of the shuttle on a highway road and it threw me against the empty seats in front of me and the other time was when one of my Lyft drivers ran a red light and almost had a collision with another vehicle. These two incidents happened within one hour of each other. Are these Wisconsin drivers really overall this bad or am I just having bad luck? I got to see the Bronze Fonz today and walked along alot of the Milwaukee Riverfront. I went to Deer Park just outside of Fiserv Forum where the Milwaukee Bucks play. I also walked by the historic Pabst Theater. At first I had trouble eating dinner tonight. I tried to go to the Lakefront Brewery but on Monday nights they serve beer but no food. Then I tried to go to Doc's Commerce Steakhouse but they are closed completely on Mondays. But I made it to another place recommended by malicelover called Milwaukee Brat House. I had a brat and cheese curds and two beers (as I said on Facebook, I am drinking Wisconsibly on this trip) and the food was great. Thank you to Barry for recommending that place and I will try to go tomorrow to Doc's Commerce Steakhouse which was another place he recommended! Tomorrow I plan to see The Crusher statue and go to the Harley Davidson Museum. My plan was to see The Crusher statue today but it is located near one of the rail stops in Milwaukee and I just missed the train by minutes (that was my planned stop.) Instead of sitting in the train station for 1 1/2 hours for the next train for $8, I decided instead to take a $22 Lyft into downtown that could pick me up in 4 minutes. Here is me and the Bronze Fonz today in Milwaukee:

Usually it is more the Wisconsin drivers driving slow in the left most lane, forgetting to use their turn signals, reasoning that it is optional, because they have break lights, and if they turn right or left, it is on you if you need to slam on your breaks because you were following too closely. DOC'S Smokehouse is fantastic. Great beer selections as well as great BBQ. Also, to compare Lyft prices, that Lyft in Chicago from O'Hare to downtown would have probably cost an additional $10 to $20. Final question: Are you in support of a Milwaukee Galacticon?

Today in Milwaukee I saw The Crusher statue (see picture below,) the Harley Davidson Museum, a little of the Third Ward, and the Milwaukee Public Market. I went back to my hotel to rest but I think for dinner I am going back downtown to eat at Doc's Commerce Steakhouse as malicelover recommended it.
