Nice win by Smooth and Stallion. Stallion is definitely making a name for himself in this territory... Hopefully his upcoming rematch against Jeffries is a little less one-sided than their initial encounter... AJ Smooth is quickly becoming my favorite guy on the roster... Maybe I will have him start referring to himself as the Face that Runs this Place!

IMPACT PRO WRESTLINGMADE OF SCARS2021.Jun.12 Forte Center, Des Moines, IA Commentary: Captain Midnight & SwoggleRing Announcer: Chad Olson Referees: Brent Filmore, Christian Hansen & Joey JojoPART ONEThe event opened with an appearance by Legend Killers. They stated that management were obviously not taking them seriously since they were omitted from the lineup. Their complaints were cut short by the unexpected arrival of Alex Zayne & Blake Christian! To the delight of the crowd, the newcomers challenged Matty Star & Sparrow to a match right here and now! Star excused himself by claiming that he did not come prepared to compete, but gave Sparrow a nudge and said that he would face either man. Following a quick game of rock-paper-scissors, it was decided that Zayne would be Sparrow's opponent.ALEX ZAYNE (w/ Blake Christian) def. Sparrow (w/ Matty Star). **- Zayne pinned Sparrow after a TACO DRIVER. -- Tokens: Sparrow 5 - No matter what he tried, Sparrow was unable to get on track during this impromptu match. At one point, he became so agitated that he tried to walk out. Christian grabbed him from behind, spun him around and tossed him back into the ring! Star tried to offer an assist, but accidentally struck his own partner, leading to a crowd pleasing finish. BRIAN PILLMAN JR def. Suge D. **1/2- Pillman pinned Suge after a DIRE PROMISE. -- Tokens: Pillman 1 - Suge 2 - Both competitors delivered solid performances in this seesaw battle. Suge offered to shake hands after the bell, but Pillman waved him off. Refusing to appear gracious, Pillman marched towards the backstage area wearing an expression of pure spite. ANGELUS LAYNE def. Marti Belle via DQ. dud- Belle was disqualified <out of the ring> during a wild brawl. -- Tokens: n/a - Layne was still angry about missing her chance to become the inaugural IPW Ladies Grand Prix Champion at ABSOLUTE ZERO and decided to vent her frustration by threatening Mr Chad Olson while he was trying to introduce the participants for the match. Before any harm was done, Belle rushed the ring to make the save! <Belle started on Level 2 Offense.> - Losing control of her temper, Belle ignored multiple warnings from the referee and delivered a powerbomb onto the concrete floor after pulling up the safety mats. The crowd jeered the decision. FIVE DIRECTION (Rob Matter & Stevie Fierce) def. AC/DC (Arik Cannon & Darin Corbin) in a Tag Team Anarchy match. ***- Matter pinned Cannon <snake eyes> after teaming with Fierce for a double spinebuster. -- Tokens: - As expected, this grudge match was a truly chaotic affair and the action was sometimes difficult to follow. Corbin and Fierce engaged in a drawn out exchange while Cannon and Matter fought through the crowd. Cannon managed to break away and went to help his partner, leaving himself open to an ambush. Five Direction hit Cannon with a BE OUR GUEST and even though Corbin was able to break up the near fall, he suffered a nasty bump in the process. - While Matter & Fierce taunted Corbin after the bell, they failed to notice that Cannon had recovered. Cannon pushed Fierce into the rails and then viciously attacked Matter, smashing him with a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer can until blood was pouring down his face. He followed up with a BURNING HAMMER through a table and Matter required immediate medical attention. <Matter out for 2 cards.> LOGAN BLACK & UGLY def. Malice & Mike Bailey. *- Black pinned Malice <snake eyes> after a ROLLING SAMOAN DROP. -- Tokens: Malice 2 - Prior to the opening bell, Black removed Bailey from the equation with a chairshot across the back. This left Malice to face both opponents without the help of his partner. Despite some strong resistance, Malice was unable to defend himself against their coordinated assault. - Ugly stormed the ring after the bell with his Ugly stick in hand and repeatedly bashed Malice until security arrived to pull him away. Before being escorted to the backstage area, Ugly demanded a shot at Malice for the IPW Badlands Hardcore Championship. Getting to his feet, Malice replied that Ugly would get what he wanted and a whole lot more! CURT STALLION (w/ AJ Smooth) def. James Jeffries (w/ Fred Yehi) via count-out. ****1/2- Jeffries was counted out after Stallion hit a seated double stomp into the metal ringside stairs. -- Tokens: Stallion 2 - Jeffries 8 - This was a highly anticipated rematch from the opening round of the IPW Unified Heavyweight Championship tournament at ABSOLUTE ZERO and Jeffries was obviously eager to get his win back. - Stallion pulled out all the stops, narrowly avoiding disqualification as he busted Jeffries wide open against a corner post. Refusing to stay down, Jeffries mounted one thrilling comeback after another. An assist by Smooth became a factor when he tripped Jeffries while he was preparing to execute a SLICED BREAD #2. Yehi tackled Smooth, but his intervention was too late. Stallion capitalized on the opportunity, gaining his second victory over the longtime fan favorite. * INTERMISSION - Stay tuned for Part Two! *

IMPACT PRO WRESTLINGMADE OF SCARS2021.Jun.12 Forte Center, Des Moines, IA Commentary: Captain Midnight & SwoggleRing Announcer: Chad Olson Referees: Brent Filmore, Christian Hansen & Joey JojoPART TWOBROOKE VALENTINE def. Shayna Baszler in a Best of 3 Falls match to win the IPW Ladies Grand Prix Championship. ****- 1st fall: Valentine (1 token) pinned Baszler (3 tokens) after a BEE STING. - 2nd fall: Baszler (4 tokens) tapped out Valentine (1 token) with an ankle lock. - 3rd fall: Valentine (5 tokens) pinned Baszler (4 tokens) after a high risk <deathjump> cannonball from the top rope. - Although Baszler delivered a very strong performance, Valentine was relentless in her pursuit for the gold. Surprise interference by Angelus Layne only delayed the inevitable and she was quickly chased off by Marti Belle. The crowd popped when Belle presented Valentine with her newly won title belt and she raised it above her head! JUSTIN DECENT & THE DEATH DEALER def. Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster the Legend) via DQ to retain the IPW Unified Tag Team Championship. **- Luster was disqualified <out of the ring> when he shoved the referee aside in order to continue his attack on Decent. -- Tokens: Dealer 2 - This was a successful version one title defense for the champions. - The heat between these two teams continued to escalate during this hard hitting affair. Things took a dramatic turn when Luster loaded up his fist with a roll of coins and smashed Decent while the referee's back was turned. Swoggle instantly jumped up from his commentary position and tried to inform the referee what had taken place! When the referee tried to question Luster about the accusation, he was knocked to the floor. - Reno Scum cornered Swoggle, hoping to get some revenge for the intrusion. Grabbing their title belts, Decent & The Dealer took up defensive positions on either side of Swoggle to prevent a beatdown. SICK NICK MONDO def. Andy Dalton in an Iowa Deathmatch. ***- Mondo pinned Dalton after an ASSAULT DRIVER. -- Tokens: Mondo 1 - Dalton 2 - Following their gruesome exchange during the Badlands Bedlam Brawl at ABSOLUTE ZERO, there was no doubting that these two men were going to embrace their violent natures. Dalton tried to knock Mondo senseless with a branding iron, but it was a swing and a miss! Retaliating with a LIFE CUTTER through a pane of glass, Mondo wasted no time putting this rivalry in his rearview mirror. THE BIG PICTURE def. 1 Called Manders to retain the IPW Unified Heavyweight Championship. *****- Picture pinned Manders after a leapfrog body guillotine. -- Tokens: Picture 7 - Manders 4 - This was a successful version one title defense for the champion. - These two men faced each other during a Team Survivor Challenge on the previous IPW ReBorn session and Manders apparently had not forgotten the harm he suffered at the hands of the champion. Remaining cautious, Manders avoided being cornered and offered Picture the fight of his career! He hit Picture with a SECOND ROPE POWERBOMB followed by a LARIAT, but could not keep him pinned for a three count. Manders went for a high risk move and Picture made him regret that mistake, catching him in midair and dropping him with a jumping tombstone. - As Picture retrieved his title belt, he was confronted by someone that had missed their chance to participate in the IPW Unified Heavyweight Championship tournament at ABSOLUTE ZERO. Chuck Taylor was here and he wanted a match against the champion!

Wild main event and always great to see Sick Nick. Being from Minnesota made Sick Nick a natural fit for this midwest fed, imo... And he happens to be one of my favorite indy wrestlers in the game... So, bonus! That hometown advantage really saved Picture in his first title defense... Manders hit the champ with just about everything in his arsenal (at least once) except for his special bullrope attack... Thinking we'll definitely get a rematch in the near future... That match was just too much fun! Always appreciate the excellent input, my friend... Many thanks!
